My concept designs for Hugh's parents back in the late 70s
In the Kidverse AU, Hugh lived in a small household with both parents and his grandfather (Rupert's dad) who sometimes watched over him.
Rupert worked with pharmaceuticals at a hospital while his wife Veronica was a schoolteacher.
They didn't make a lot of money but they worked hard for the most important thing they had, their son.
Hughie meant the world...

Ben really looks up to his friends and hopes to one day be just like them. He seems to find himself in need of constant rescuing, feeling as if he has no special talents or skills. It doesn’t help that his father is extremely hard on him.
Ben may be the softest amongst the four of them but he is by no means weak . If anything, they know he has the biggest heart of them all.
And there is no doubt that he is extremely grateful to have a group of friends that help and protect...

Last year I drew Hugh Test in his different styles and aprons from the show.
Version 1 he was soft and way more fussy!
version 2 got the most screen time!
and the reboot Hugh is much more bright and joyful! they definitely toned down his temper. AND U SEE MORE OF HIM!
tried to keep the color palettes the same and it honestly looks like someone turned up the brightness setting 💀.
