2024-09-22 11:30:01 +0000 UTC View PostAn upper tier exclusive for the first 24 hours. A quick overview of Takakeisho's career after the announcement yesterday that he plans to retire from SUMO after a 10-year career in which he won the following Championships:
4 (Makuuchi)
1 (Jūryō)
1 (Makushita)
1 (Jonidan)
1 (Jonokuchi)
and competed at the 2nd highest rank of Ozeki for the past 5 years.
All my best to Takakeisho as he transitions into the next phase of his SUMO adventure.
The FINAL MATCH on Day 14 finds Ozeki Hoshoryu (7-6) still needing one more win for his KK. Unfortunately his opponent today is Sekiwake Onosato (12-1), who has only lost one match this basho and can secure the championship with a win here.
Enjoy!
