In what has been a comically unbelievable week our rap song “Too Much Volcano!”, a song we wrote and shot in around 9 hours took the iTunes Charts by storm and got as far as No.14 (with a Coldplay song blocking our path!).

Too much volcano…
Don’t lie, you’ve had it stuck in your head just as I have.
- We’ve genuinely created a monster.
Well folks, the second episode of Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands is up and in this week’s episode we wandered Mars (a.k. the volcano wasteland), slept in an igloo, stayed at Kyushu’s most stunning hot spring and produced an entire music video, complete with a Grammy award winning hit track.

Well guys Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands is officially here!
In the first insane episode we flew over Japan's most active volcano, threw Natsuki in a waterfall (and lost his beloved pants) and even saw a goat.
If that's not quality content, I don't know what is.
And the first of the five part, Patreon behind the scenes series is now available to watch, featuring a ton of hilarious outtakes, deleted scenes that we couldn't fit in and a cheeky m...

What a weekend.
Half of it spent with Natsuki, half of it with Connor (CDawgVa). Albeit not together fortunately, that’d be a bit too much to handle.
LOTS of news this week folks.

First off, in case you missed it on FB/Twitter/Instagram yesterday, we posted a promo video featuring Natsuki working at his shop. It’s part of th...

GOOD NEWS! The official trailer for Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands is now finished and I'll be releasing it here on Patreon later this week! (And publicly later this month).
When we finished filming the series, Natsuki, Joey and I all agreed it was the most action-packed week of our lives, and watching the trailer certainly reminds me why.
But to celebrate the impending release of Journey Across Japan: ...

Before we dive into the final diary entry & photos for Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands, the Hokkaido road trip video is finally up on Abroad in Japan!
It’s actually the second longest video we've ever produced after Natsuki: The Movie, with a run time of 28 minutes (hence the long time it took to edit).
As well as introducing my best American friend Pete, I’m really proud of the cinematography and tried to raise the bar on the product...

I awoke in Amsterdam in the rain.
Then after a few moments I realised it wasn’t in fact Amsterdam, even though the weather was fairly accurate.
Huis Ten Bosch is a gigantic theme park one hour north of Nagasaki, though “theme park” doesn’t do it justice. It’s a genuine slice of the Netherlands, with operation canals and windmills, brick streets and architecture that feels like the real deal.
Heck there’s even real Heineken, which Natsuki was de...

Hey guys!
So I'm finally back after a month spent on the road filming Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands. Somehow we survived the trip across abandoned islands and smouldering volcanoes, and I've certainly got a few stories to tell.
I look forward to chatting with you all about it and answering your questions about anything this Friday morning at 08:30am (Thursday evening for most of you).

The key word today is horror.
- And horses.
Things got off to a pleasant enough start, as we awoke in Kurokawa springs, where Natsuki enjoyed a morning soak in the outdoor bath, having spent the previous day rapping on an active volcano.

However, my enthusiasm for the day was quickly lost, when the challenge for the day ...

Having left the island of Yakushima behind we headed back to the mainland. With Natsuki’s pirate pants forever lost at sea, we drove inland to Kumamoto, to the base of Mount Aso - Japan’s largest volcano.
In search of accommodation, I’d remembered a crazy place from the original Journey Across Japan series, which I’d briefly passed through and always wanted to stay at. Aso Farm Land.
A small city of 450 igloo dome houses, somewhere between a Smur...

Oh good god. I never knew you could do so much in one week.
Or destroy yourself physically in such a short space of time.
To call the shoot for Journey Across Japan 3 action-packed would be a complete and utter understatement, as you’ll bear witness in the coming days, a I share photos and the diary of the trip.

You can hear what went down on our ludicrous first day of filming in Kagoshima in tomorrow’s Patreon diary.
Over the coming 10 days I’ll be keeping a daily journal on here, filled with photos and chronicling the highs and lows of our 500km journey across Kyushu.
And there’s certainly been an impressive balance of highs and lows so far, as you’ll hear tomorrow! 😅

Hey guys!
So it's been a weird month spent making videos that aren't yet out on Youtube, across half a dozen different channels.
And we're now just two weeks away from beginning the intense production of Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands with Joey and Natsuki.
Plenty to talk about this month; from what I got up to with Connor and Joey, the disastrous Abroad in a Pan Tokyo Creative episode, and what you can expect in April!

I’m a hypocrite.
A filthy, disgraceful hypocrite.
First I mocked vloggers overusing drones in their videos.
“The action is on the ground. Not in the sky. Nobody likes drones.”
- And then a year later I bought one and stuck it in every single video.
Then I turned my nose up at collaborating with other Youtubers.
“I don’t do collaborations.” I scoffed with glee in the co...

So last night I was tucked up in a hotel bed on my way back from Hokkaido, falling asleep while pondering how to make the world a better place, when all of a sudden I began to feel dizzy.
I suddenly realised the entire building was moving and given I was on the 12th floor, rather than violent shaking the sensation you typically experience during an earthquake, it was more akin to ominous swaying.
Usually an earthquake lasts ...

It's Saturday afternoon and amidst editing an upcoming video with Ryotaro and pouring over the feedback on the latest video reacting to Japanese Youtubers (unbelievably, already one Japanese Youtuber has released their reaction!), I've spent the last two hours immersed in studying Japanese.
