Been loving testing two new home additions this week!

Video coming Friday if I can finish all the bits I need - the Switchbot S10 is something far more exciting than I realised, it's soooo clever the engineering behind it, I've been continually surprised by the engineering in it!

The Ultimate Playroom!

Been heavy woodworking recently creating a multi-purpose playroom for the kids!

Only a tiny little room, but I reckon I can make something cool out of it.

Been designing a multi-functional seat for the room too that's going to be an excuse for every skill - woodworking, upholstery, laser cutting, 3d printing, electronics and more!

You might have spotted a little glimpse of this in recent videos, but I'll do a proper reveal shortly!

He's only sold in the US/Canada to my knowledge - I had to smuggle two of him out of the country in the dead of night whilst everyone was busy throwing boxes of tea into the water..... ;)

He's not perfect (eg he can't get in-between denser beds of vegetables and plants to weed), but a great little idea - weed whacker on the bottom to kill weeds, wheel to till the soil, solar panel to power.

A little bedtime sneak peek of tomorrow's video... I've been testing out a new friend.... and trying to break him... I mean test his resilience 😂😂😂

This is actually super cool - he's not got any speakers, this is the sound of three stepper motors spinning, so I had three separate musical tracks at my disposal, so I had to so what he could do....!

Airgradient Air Sensor poke around!

I've gone for the DIY kit option of the Airgradient air monitor - this is a great solution to save some money and an easy way to understand a bit more about these electronics components (you'll recognise some of these from my previous videos, so a nice way to gently build some knowledge).

All looks like great instructions and guides too - so I'll cover this in a future video!

Quick peek at the water quality tester!

Another one that you were quite interested in, so I thought I'd set it up to start gathering some data for the Body Assistant video we've been chatting about in discord!

Apart from the amusing shape, it looks pretty impressive - one will monitor pool, hot tub, plunge pool water and the other device is designed for testing household water, hotel water, plastic water.

I think it'll be fascinating to see how water quality varies between different sources!! Any creative ideas most w...

Walnut PC case update!!

This is yet another project I'm working on in the background - the hard bit is now done, rough shape carved, and glue up done for the shell cover.

I now need to just construct the interior and start getting creative! Lots of hand sanding and shaping still required, so I'll update on that in the coming weeks!

I'm getting excited about this one.... ;)

But actually this is quite interesting. Simple boxes perhaps, but these are prototypes of my parametric cabinet making system....!

Just like in 3d printing, you can do the same for CNC/Laser cutting - a simple file that you can open and choose the width, height, depth, number of drawers and more and it'll do all the clever stuff.

This means I can just chuck a piece of mdf or plywood on the CNC bed and it'll cut out all the dado grooves, screw holes, back piece grooves and more aut...

A Stitch in Time: 30 minute project!

Just pulling a quick cover together for my daughter's stool in her bedroom (it's her birthday coming up!) - having to work like an elf in the evening when I get a spare moment!!

Tonight: It's like the Space Race again.....!

Straight from finishing Underware to cake baking!! Only had three hours to build, decorate and....er...program this cake.... ;) Powered by ESP32s, WLED and fully connected to Home Assistant.....!

Hopefully my son will like the spaceship cake he asked for at his party tomorrow!

Hey, folks! Chaos here at the moment as I tear apart my mess of under-desk cables! Here's a sneak peek on my plotting! I've been busy tidying up and getting everything in order with the Underware cable management system (video coming this Friday all things being equal!)

Bit of a monster job disassembling the old greenhouse to create space for the new workshop - kind of nice to be smashing rather than making for a bit of a change...! Completely covering in cobwebs, leaves, mud and dust by the end.

Ok classic solution looking for a problem, but Switchbot sent me these for free to have a test, so I think I'm justified! ;)

I'm looking for brainy ideas on what I can use these on around the house - they basically let you switch manual devices on and off.

I've got a feeling there's a genius idea or two out there, I just can't think of one right this moment
