I do break sometimes... let them eat cake...!

Ok, a couple of folks asked whether I ever take a break from my mad projects, so just to prove it - here's me this weekend in Edinburgh.  Now, the castles in Scotland just aren't as good as in Wales (biased Welshie speaking!!), but they make up for it in cakes.... :)

But seriously, the projects are too much fun - I'm going to give you all a quick update this Friday to walk through some of the upcoming madness!

Sauna Build #4 - Finish and testing.... ;)

This was definitely the best part of the whole build - it did of course need rigorous testing...!

I added hooks for robes, installed the sauna itself and gave it multiple tests... It was, and remains, an amazing build - would highly, highly recommend it for anyone with the opportunity to build. 

Doing it yourself saves a fortune and opens it up to being much more affordable.

Sauna Build #3 - An unexpected side quest....

Ok this sounds silly, but this is a great example of something that I didn't even consider part of the 'build' but ended up being the toughest part of the whole project....

I simply decided I wanted to transplant some bamboo that was growing to create a bit of a screen for the sauna itself and to open up a space in front for the entrance.

Easy enough, huh?

Sauna Build #2 - Construction begins!

Apart from having to work initially in a hailstorm, this was actually pretty smooth and fun - didn't hit too many hurdles!

The main construction
I laid a weed control fabric under everything to ensure I'm not having to dig around under the barrel for the next decade and laid the base frames on top of it.
