A close-up detailed shot of a scenery painting for the project.
I adore mornings. Especially when I can be outside as the sun is just starting to rise, the temperature is cool, I can hear the birds and trees, feel the wind, and see the colors.
I also wanted to include a different time of day for the collection of paintings. Like a misty morning.

During the warm humid summers in Georgia, it was common for the boys to head to the slow river to cool off and be alone. They'd rough house and wrestle as boys do, splashing around and throwing out playful names, and work themselves up into exhaustion. Until eventually, they'd drop their playful rough fronts, and slightly out of breathe, hop onto the same inner tube, and talk as they drift away down the river. Just the birds, the insects, and the two of them together.

Further painting on this piece!
No attachments because the previous wips between 4 and 9 don't really show much.
A little lovely kissing, in early rough paints.

This one is visible to $1 patreons and above, because the full version will be released publicly soon anyway.
As I've said, while the focus of this story won't be sex, it's still a life story about these two. And sex happens. I didn't want to make it a jerk-off story at all, but I also didn't want to dilute the telling of their life.
2015-09-09 02:51:30 +0000 UTC View PostSo it's been a few months, and the project has been having pretty amazing momentum as far as progress goes, and I want to thank every single one of you patreons.
I'm more than excited about this project, and that increases each and every time that I lay a brush stroke down.
This is one of the most intimate things I've worked on, from the bottom-up, and it's amazing to get any and all of your support.
I'm honored, deeply.

So for my birthday, my best friend dBear, along with Tusker and Jake, got together, and gifted me this, and it hit me very hard in a beautiful way, and makes me want to cry when I see them.
It should be obvious, but they're sculpted (by the talented Boarhound athttp://ravenhallowsculpts.tumblr.com) to look like whittled wood, as seen in the sketch recently posted for the upcoming painting titled "With You".
In that sketch, you can see these two whittled figur...

Sketchings of a painting that may have some lighting that I'll likely hate doing due to trickiness!
I think this piece is especially exciting because like all the other paintings, this piece is important to the story. And it's a very intimate piece, even compared to the others.
We see a mason jar with a figurine of each of the characters inside of it.

I'm starting to put more obvious signatures and watermarks on the patreon submissions though, and thinking I'll make them much more subtle like how I normally prefer, when they're released publicly.
Any thoughts?

Getting into colors. This one is going to be really bright and happy. Sunny mid summer day with shade, tea, and the river. I really want the colors to be as bright as how they feel.

I'm calling this piece "finished" for now, and I'm incredibly happy with it.
I look at this, and I feel a cold autumn breeze after a busy afternoon, hearing branches rustle, and autumn colors surrounding me, being snugged up against the soft breathings of somebody I love.
I hope it gives similar feelings to others (and hopefully even more so when they read the story).
When released publicly, watermarks will be made more subtle.

"You could take me for a ride on your big green tractor
We could go slow, or make it go faster.
Down through the woods,
And out through the pasture.
As long as I'm with you,
It really don't matter."
This is kind of what started it all in a sense. It's a song by Jason Aldean, and it sparked a few root ideas in my head for this entire story. One of the key pie...

I enjoy the intimate feeling of surrendering your body, slowly into slumber. You feel your head get drowsy, your nerves exhaling, your existence and consciousness melt into a softened butter, and you let it all happen.

More color. I'm excited about this piece, because of the colors and time of day and lighting.
I really love autumn and nature. It gives me indescribable feelings. Which is probably why I do better with a paint brush than a typewriter.

Here's the second Patreon Support Card for Point Nowhere.
Just a little snippet. The first Patreon Support Card was Dale and Feargus as kids. So this time around, we see them a few years older.
A close up shot of the finished piece that some patreon supports have likely seen already. I really like this one, but I probably can say that about every piece in this project, which I think is a good sign.

Two old farmers, laying back in their rocking chairs out on the porch one afternoon. You can see it through their smiles and interaction with each other, that these are two people who have been through a lot together; both good and bad. They know each other like the back of their paws, and it's almost like they've discovered something special together.

My roots rest in traditional mediums, mostly acrylic paints. This Point Nowhere project was designed to push my creativity in every way I can, from an imaginative standpoint and technical standpoint.
I've always wanted to tackle a more traditional painted approach with digital mediums, but struggled with the tools to get the effect I wanted. But I recently got some new Photoshop brushes that really helped me get the effects I want.
This was painted with minim...

If you close your eyes, it should be Feargus on the resonator slide guitar, joined later by Dale on the fiddle.
I'm really happy where this one is going so far. I'm trying to keep focus on it to make sure it has direction, but it's hard not to want to merge it with Dale's Lament, and make a Medly out of it.

Relationships are a funny thing. When you're so in love with somebody, you never could imagine ever feeling like you hate them. It can't always be sunny summer afternoons and lazy river rafting.
You can't have sweet without the sour though.

It won't ever be too revealing, and there won't be so many that those who contribute to the patreon should (hopefully) not feel cheated out, as those who contribute get to see way more than anyone else. This is a huge project. There's plenty to show.
