Carl had a curious relationship with his body.
At times, especially when younger, he felt ashamed of being chubby. It was a bully's favourite to remark him on his weight, and even after the fat began to conceal increasingly stronger muscles as he grew those thoughts didn't erode away.
Even his friends occasionally pocked at him. Still, it was in jest, and he didn't take that seriously.

Turns out Leo did arrive, and Chase and him got awkward but a few pointers from TJ and Sydney allowed them to remain good friends.
