originally with the CGS, i was going to have the whole background look like manga, and have the characters look painterly. this looked horrible. i scrapped it, and instead opted to use a painterly filter with a halftone overlay. for example:

also, the character in the old cg is a strong hint at "Rasby", a character whose design i still need to finalize
