Quick look on progress on Graveyard map

Hey! 

Here is a recent status of graveyard map. Total progress I'd say it's maybe 35% something. IT still needs a lot of work. As of now I'm placing the objects, sculpting the terrain and all that jazz. Spooky atmosphere? - Well, that's for later :)

Working on....

Hello everyone!

I came here to tell you that another map is in production and we're staying in the spooky, grave and gloomy mood as it's the map of a graveyard!

The goal is to have some background for my next Descent into Avernus map which is the Elturel Graveyard Chapel (no, it's not the one you see on the picture :P) Aside of that there will be plenty of other nice spots on the cementary, where I'll be creating some separate maps from.

The next thing is, I'm going to populate my Shop offers, but that will require some repackaging of the maps and time. Most likely there'll be bundles that you could buy. This is a great option where you won't like to tie yourself with a tier subscription, but still wanna buy some maps. Of course I recommend you becoming my Patron, as there are great benefits coming along, and you'll get an access to other maps, which won't be included in the Shop :)

Packing Avernus Module

Hey everybody,

Just a bit of an update on this week. I'm packing Avernus maps into one chunky module for Foundry VTT. Pretty much teh same as I did with Lost Mines. New module includes maps from Chapter 1 and lots of additional stuff such as static and aminated illustrations.

Soon the module will be available in in-foundy module browser. For free ofc :)

Dark Forest clearing WIP

New Patreon page feature - Collections

Hi Dear Patrons!

I've always found it difficult to fit the pages like Patreons to our needs. Patreon as a page has a very vertical and blog-like structure and IMO wasn't taht good for supporting the digital products like my maps. I know, you had a hard time finding the post and map you wanted and that's why I opened a website where things are more categorised. Well now Patreon page makes a step forward.

Exciting News: New Animated Battlemap "Cathedral Catacombs"!

Hi everybody!

I'm thrilled to announce the release of my latest creation: the "Cathedral Catacombs" animated battlemap! As you and your players are on the campaign of Descent into Avernus, this map will be perfect for your adventure in depths of the First Layer of Nine Hells.

The map was created using Unreal Engine 5 and thanks to my beloved Partrons support, I was able to bring some nice floor textures and decals to the map.

Alright! Essentially the map is ready. All what's left is to set it up for Foundry module, stand-alone files with different variations (grid, gridless, sound etc.) Pack it all together, publish on Patreon and website. Well that's gonna take me another couple of days, as releasing process isn't what I like the most (- it's like something completetely different than mapmaking, lol). All I can tell is: soon! :)

DiA: High Hall Catacombs - Work in progress update 2

Hi everybody,

So this is how it is going. Thanks to you - my awesome patrons, Is was able to buy some assets allowing me to add more fancy statues to the Catacombs. Thank you! <3

Now I'm working with the lighting and I've already managed to clutter the crypts a little with some sort od damaged mosaic and debris. After all the Cathedral went through a bit, so its underbelly cannot be intact :)

DiA: High Hall Catacombs - Work in progress update

Hello dear everybody!

I've started working on another Descent into Avernus map which is High Hall Catacombs and I'm so excited to have it ready! Even now! The map is huge - same as High Hall Cathedral main level and same as that map it should have the same level of detailing and so on...

What's special with this map for me as a creator, is the corrdors are narrow and they are densly packled into the map. It's not visible on the map yet, but it's gonna be challange in terms of the perspective - so the corridors aren't obscured by high walls. No worries, I'll find a way to have it sorted!

How do you imagine High Hall Catacombs? What colors or haze they should have?

Lost Mines by dransky v.2 reworked, optimized!

Hello dear wonderful people,

So this time I'm bringing to the table v.2 of Lost Mines of Phandalver based Foundry VTT module: "Lost Mines by dransky v.2".

What happened with the v.1. and why a new version?

Well, that's a good question, Jimmy! It all began with Foundry switched to version 11. I described whole the fuss I had to go through so... long story short - previous version didn't work very well with new Foundry database. Second reason was, I just wanted to refresh the module a little bit, compress some of the audio files, add the monsters and well I happened to make the landing page too :)

All this is packed into Adventure Pack, that you can find in your compendiums list once you install the module.

The module contains 12 unique animated battlemaps recreated from the official LMOP maps under Fan Content policy. There are also other maps that are not shown in the adventure book, plus some illustration scenes, useful for playing thatre of the mind style.

The being said -  "Lost Mines by dransky v.2" became the module with my full support and, probably you'll see other updates to that in the future. Also old module isn't supported now so if you want to have all goodies I've listed above, feel free to download v.2 and unisntall the "v.1" one.

Foundry VTT update

Hey everyone,

Today is a quick update about my recent works. So first of all, I have ran throgh all the modules I released so far and fixed the manifest files, so your Foundry shouldn't give you any errors while donwloading the modules. If you have any troubles with that, let me know - best on discord (https://discord.gg/VyC2jsvEBb), or pm here.

Second thing - there is 88! modules out there. Yes some of them are specific variations for the patreon tier, but yeah - 88! Multiply it with around 2-4 maps for each module. I need to do the due diligence math some time in the future :D

Waht's on the table now? Just have a look on the pictures up there. Along with tweaking the version of Lost Mines module, I thought to make it an Adventure Pack for Foundry VTT, not only with the maps, but also including actors.

This is all a warm-up for the next Descent into Avernus map, so stay tunned!

Update on what I'm doing now

Hello dear, wonderful and awesome Patrons and Followers!

This post is especially for those of you, who use Foundry vtt in its newest version 11. For the rest of you dear community it's just an information, a heart beat that I'm out there, feeling quite well, missing my RPG sessions (therefore planning them!), thinking about the new map ideas and on the route to normal. :)

Together with this disaster month for me it came something else. Something incomparably smaller, yet annoying and irritating. Along with Foundry chaning its version, they changed the structure of the database. That's something we shouldn't be worried, of course! Why should I care about their database? Well, it seems I should.

As you probably know, most of the modules for Foundry, are downloaded by manifest link - no matter if you see them in their marketplace, or on my webpage, there is always a link. This link points to the json file that tells Foundry what to download, whether it's a map, who is the author, what compendium packs are there, how the walls are set up - everything. You may feel it already, the point is, everythign in the file must be exactly in the right place, has a right label, each coma needs to be exactly in the right place. What version 11 did? Well they changed teh file structure, leaving almost all my maps obsolete, with no option to download.

It's not pouring out my frustration (maybe a little!), anyway I made a peace with that fact. I'm on the process of changing those files structure, so the modules can be easy downloaded once again.

Second thing I'm doing - I use the potential of version 11. Making an actual Adventure module for Lost Mines. The module will have the Lost Mines maps as you know it, but they'll be optimized for older hardware setups and... what's more important, the maps, will be populated with the monsters!

Most moster you'll know from the official LMOP adventure, but some are outside of SRD licensing, so I had to made couple of somersaults, tweaking their names and appearences. Don't worry they'll have the names that allow you to place them in your adventure in the right way :)

Well, that's it. I'm slowly turning this Patreon into some blog, lol!

A small note about the July

Hello everybody!
Some of you may have noticed that I wasn't around for a while. This is even more visible as there was no new maps release on July. Well I feel I owe you some explanation on this and to be honest it will require to touch my private life. Last couple of months my dad's condition get worsen as he had been ill for a couple of years. Two weeks ago he passed away. 

He was an artist, photographer, cartoon animator (There is some continuation maybe in my animated maps :) ) but most of all he was the best dad.

I'm getting back to normal and I'm getting better every day. I also consider the fact I decided to write it here, as a sign of coming back to normal and to my usual daily activities. Soon I'll reply to all your questions, face and help on your technical difficulties. Most of all I'm getting back to creating the maps

I would like to thank all of you who expressed a compassion and condolences on our discord. I'm really happy we've created a small community with such a big hearts.

Welcome, Thank you, Enjoy - June'23

Hey beautiful people!

June was very busy for me with the maps for Rural Tavern and partially with rural roads. Those project took the most of the time, but in the end we got a really fat pack of maps, variations and sceneries done in UE5.

Along with that I was able to make some really quick side project with Landing Page for Warhammer 40K Dark Heresy system. Which is a niche - I know, but I made it for my another campaign I'd like to run soon and I share it with you for free.

This month I'd like to thank especially to Foundry users who were very patient, testing new maps in uneasy situation with different Foundry version and complications with compatibility between its versions. I hope soon all other creator modules get an update for version 11 and I'll be able to switch on v11 too. Thank you! :)

Plans for July - oh yes, there are plans for sure that's gonna be Avernus maps!

I'm still on my vacations which means no creative work, since I'm away from my machine. That said I'm trying to compensate it with some social media posts, just to give a heart beat and do not let forget about me. For those who may missed that:

As a prep for my next campaing in WH40K Dark Heresy 2e system I've created this animated landing page for Foundry. It's nothing interactive, rather just a video clip that should work as a background for further setup. Took me quite a lot of time to make it look Warhammer-ish, but I'm happy with the result. It took a good few moments for your eyes to adjust to the dark room, illuminated only by the candles standing on the tables. The inn was poor, like most of the ones you visited on the trail. Despite this, you immediately felt relieved - the air was heavy with the smell of barley malt. Brewed on the spot - you thought and together with the rest of your companions you took the table. Your group has not yet noticed that several armed people are watching you from the back of the room.

Let's step into a realm of rustic revelry, where swords clash and mugs  overflow, as the medieval tapestry comes alive on the animated battlemap of a rural tavern! Well, nothing gets you more relaxed than a mug of cold ale, a bard's rasping and good company, ay?

This is my another try with Unreal Engine, and you probably have seen the results already. Moreover, you could see some screens of the material I used for creating this map!

Work in progress - Rural Tavern

Hey dear Patrons,

I'm working on another map set focused on this Rural Tavern. The pack will inculde inside and outside maps with a lot of nice scenery screens like this picture above!

This time I want to make a big fat pack with day and night variatns and something more for the Champions Tier. So I'm taking my time to make it really nice :)

Champion page gets an update!

This week I have an update for Champions and those of you who are thinking about upgrading their tiers. Based on the poll I made couple weeks ago, I noticed https://dranskybattlemaps.com/ isn't that much easy to navigate. Especially for Champions and I must admit, this page was a bit messy and missleading. Well, I have streamlined the page and made it more gallery-like. Hope you'll find it easier to nagivate. Let me know if you like the change o maybe you have any suggestions! Thank you!

Champion Tier opens all previous tiers so you can browse and download from Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 content freely, plus your Champion bonuses.

Rural Roads! - animated map collection

The noon sun was mercilessly hot as you walked along this forgotten by merchants route.  Finally, in the distance, you saw the outlines of buildings, which  could suggest that there is a village nearby, or even better an inn,  where you could drink a cold beer and eat properly. The dusty road,  however, led past a high cliff โ€“ an ideal place that can be used by  bandits to ambush you..

This is a result of my first hours with Unreal Engine 5 and without any false modesty - the results blew my mind! You might have seen the recent Descent into Avernus map, so yes that was the second one done in UE5, and this is the first.

Ayway there are three maps inside with day/night variants and nicely animated scenery for roleplay background you can switch on in your VTT. Champion packs contains everything that is in pack for previous tiers, so no need to donwload everything separately - you have it all in one bag (static maps, scenery etc.)

DiA: High Hall Cathedral - Upper

This clifftop castle was once the crowning architectural jewel of  Elturel. Only three of its five watchtowers towers still stand, though  they appear abandoned. The wooden gates that once led into the castle  grounds have been shattered, leaving a gaping hole in the wall.
The  west side of the castle has been reduced to a pile of smashed brick and  broken wood. The surviving buildings are blackened by soot. At the  center of the castle grounds, the High Hall cathedral stands defiant.

Hello Friends!

Well it took me quite a time, but finally here it is! Another free map for Descent into Avernus adventure! During the works I completely resigned from making it in Wildshape. The tool is great and I love it, but when it comes to the complex structures it takes ages to build them. That's why I switched to Unreal Engine 5 which gives me more freedom in shaping the walls and adding props. The walls that ook me over a week to set up previously, were made in 5 minutes in UE5.

Size - it's a bigboi! 

The map's original scale is huge and I tried to keep it in Foundry Version. The grid shown in the book was 10ft. From more practical reasons I keep standard 5ft. grid and it tunred out the map is really big. That made the resolution thing suffer a little, but I hope it's bearable and -  what's more important - playable :)

Versions:

The pack contains the main cathedral hall with the choir. In the pack there are two versions of map: the hall and choir version In Foundry module there is one map with the choir as a overhead tile and connected with monk's active tiles - so that makes an impression of player moving from the ground level up. Of course there are static versions too, so if you don't like animations or they're killing your or your player's machines, don't worry I got you! :)

Something different from the description:

This might be a potential problem or may be not. The current map version isn't 100% aligend with the description from the book. Yes, the cathedral is ruined somehow, but there are nice stained glass windows glowing. As per the description the windows are broken or the shutters are closed. I just red the description more carefully when the map was pretty much ready. Hope that won't spoil the overall climax of the place.

Work in Progress - Another Descen into Avernus Map
