This week: we warp back in time to cover 1986's Flying, AKA Dream to Believe, AKA Teenage Dream, wherein young gymnastics hopeful Robin (Olivia d'Abo) tries to make her local team despite a prior knee injury and living in dreary Buffalo, NY! Our boy is in a kind of 'Ducky' role here, the ever supportive dude who it's so obvious is right for Robin. This one's kind of all over the shop folks, like a leering John Hughes doing Flashdance type of thing.
I'm going to try to be better about posting the podcasts on Patreon going forward.
This is the last John Wick episode, and it is extremely on brand for us in that at one point I derail the conversation so that I can force Matt and Jake to listen to Enya and discuss our favorite Enya songs. If you're looking for a podcast that sticks to the main topic for all 2 hours, this is not it!

Look, we can't make every video about blockbuster action movies. We've gotta have some variety. So we're taking a trip to the art house today. Some of the people I mentioned this video replied with "Who's Terrence Malick?" so I don't see this one getting a ton of views.
But who cares? And anyway, I've done my best to make it accessible to people who have never seen any of his movies. It's still fun! I promise!

Hey look we made a John Wick video!
But I didn't want to talk about any of the obvious stuff. Not the action, not the worldbuilding, not even Keanu. I wanted to talk about how this movie fits into the history of New York City movies, and how it uses the city.

Here it is! My parents are back! The story continues! New twists and turns!

Apparently there's some sort of crossover movie in theaters this week, but who cares, because we've got a WAY bigger crossover right here.
Mikey Neumann of Movies With Mikey and I teamed up to return to one of my favorite subjects: the Mission: Impossible movies. We broke it down into 16 short films in different styles, split up across 2 videos, one on each channel. You can watch them in any order. You'll understand when you see them.
For the entire time this Patreon has existed, the purpose has been to help fund the creation of the YouTube videos. That's been it, and the videos are the only place I advertise it.
But over the past year I've launched a couple podcasts that, while affiliated with the YouTube channel, are collaborations with other people (as in, I share the costs instead of covering it all myself).

For the past year I've been trying to figure out why I'm not more in love with the MCU. This movie franchise is everything I've wanted since I was a kid. I was so excited about this from the very beginning. The midnight screening of Avengers at the AMC Empire 25 on 42nd St is one of the best experiences I've ever had in a movie theater.
