Welcome to The Topic Tournament of Twenty Twenty Three (TTToTTT)!
Here's how this works:

There are only a handful of hours left in 2022 but here's one final video in just under wire!
I realize this is a weird time to release a video (and it will probably be bad for views since there's zero traffic on YouTube on New Year's Eve) but hey, the sponsor deadline was the end of the month so it has to go out.

No December is complete without our annual tradition in which my sister, Mary, joins me as we sit by the Christmas tree in our parents' house as we answer a bunch of questions.
I know there are a lot more Q&A videos these days with the regular Patrick Replies series but the ones with Mary have a totally different energy. Basically, t...

And here's the new Patrick Replies, in which I'm a little grumpier than usual because every comment is some variation on "why didn't you talk about this other movie?" and I'm just very tired after making that video.
But also it's festive because there are Christmas decorations!
And a reminder that you can subm...

If you missed the livestream a couple days ago, it’s now available to watch only for Patreon subscribers. Now you can watch all four-and-a-half hours of nonsense featuring our weird old Christmas videos, cocktail recipes, Christmas milk, a baby answering phones, and way too much yogurt.
Also: we reached the goal of 2,000 Letterboxd ratings! Thank you so much to everyone who helped get us there!

SUNDAY DECEMBER 18TH
6PM EASTERN
A big public Christmas-themed livestream! Featuring members of the team! And lots of fun surprises!
Is it for a good or important cause? No! It's all to get viewers to go rate Night of the Coconut on Letterboxd so can reach 2,000 ratings and qualify for their year-in-review lists! It's going to be extremely dumb!
See you then!

It's done. The longest, most challenging video we've ever made. Longer than the feature film I made. This thing was a monster, it went, like, a month over schedule...and now it's done.
I knew this would be a long one going in but I didn't quite anticipate the sheer scale of the work involved. Which I guess is a good learning...

It used to be I could easily shoot a video in a day or two and have a new one out every couple of weeks like it was no big deal. And now here I am making a Patreon post to announce "WE HAVE WRAPPED PRODUCTION ON THE NEW VIDEO" as if this is a feature film or something. To be fair, this one might end up being as long as a feature film. It could be longer than the Snyder episode. Why do I keep doing this.
Anyway, you saw my previous post about the delay on the video largely due to me losi...

(SPOILERS FOR THE TITLES OF MOVIES THAT WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THE NEXT EPISODE)
Here it is! This took so long because I had to watch a ton of movies to narrow down the list. But it's finally here. These are the main movies that will be discussed in the next episode, "What Is The Most 80s Movie Ever?"
I know when this episode is released (and honestly probably as soon as this viewing guide is released) I'm going to get a ton of people saying "BUT WHAT ABOUT [RANDOM ...

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop in with a quick update on what's happening over here (don't worry, everything is fine).
The next video, entitled "What Is The Most 80s Movie Ever" is running a little bit behind schedule and will be out in early December. I never intended to have the videos switch to a monthly schedule (it's crazy to think they were once weekly), but I deliberately put the biggest, most complicated ones at the start of the season. Don't expect them all to be as long as ...

Hey folks, a very important announcement here
The people at Letterboxd reached out to me to let me know that Night of the Coconut will qualify for their 2022 year in Review lists IF it can get to 2,000 ratings by December 31st!
(it's currently at 776)
All you need to do is go to Letterboxd and give the movie a rating. Not a review, just a numer...

This is a little late since my latest covid booster totally knocked me out for a couple days but here is the latest Patrick Replies video, covering a lot of questions and comments about the Snyder video, plus, as usual, a bunch of other nonsense.

Because I am a man who commits to the bit, here is the Snyder video, but in black & white and a 4:3 aspect ratio.
(it's a Nebula exclusive because if I put this on the youtube channel it would get zero views and screw up my standing with the algorithm)

Well, it's here. 2 years, 1 month, 27 days after we reached the Patreon goal. A little late, so, uh, sorry about that. Hopefully it's worth the wait.
This one was a monster. Like, it's by far the longest video essay we've ever made. Could we have split it into multiple parts? I guess. But I really just wanted it to be one and d...

We’re hard at work here on the Snyder video. The essay is being edited and we’re shooting the narrative segments this week. I’ve gotta say, I really like how this one is shaping up. I don’t think it’s what most people are expecting.
It’s also probably going to end up being the longest video we’ve ever made.
Anyway, while you wait, here’s the viewing guide! All of his movies will be covered, these are just the ones that might be most helpful to have seen beforehand....

Here's a new recurring show we're adding for the new season. After each regular episode, we'll release one of these: where I respond to questions and comments about the video (as selected by Emma Logsdon, who has come on board as our community manager, since I refuse to read the comments section).
As you might know, one of the perks of the Patreon is getting access to our Discord server, and we now have an "Ask Patrick" channel there where you can ask questions for future installments o...

Hello! I can't believe I forgot to post this here for so long, and I apologize for that. We shot this video at the end of June, then took our time editing it (I've mostly been on a break for the past month), and by the time it was done I wasn't sure if anyone still cared about it so I just hit "publi...

No joke, I'm as excited about this as I am about the movie itself. I've been a massive fan of MONDO for years - I have three of their posters hanging on my walls, I buy an unhealthy amount of their vinyl soundtracks. I just love what they do. And now I'm so happy to say they're releasing the soundtrack for Night of the Coconut on vinyl. This is absurd. In the best way.
You've got the incredible score by Brian Metolius, plus the three songs made for the movie:
"I'll Make Him Sorry"...

Hey everyone! I'm writing this post on my first day off in a few months. The movie is finally out (and people seem to like it, thank god), and I'm done with podcast appearances for a few days. And good thing, because I am exhausted and my voice is completely gone.
There's no huge news, but I just wanted to drop in to mention a few things.

As you probably know, NIGHT OF THE COCONUT (the feature-length season finale we've been working on for a year) premieres on Nebula in 1 week.
But next Tuesday, June 14th, we're doing a whole fancy world premiere at the IFC Center in NYC.
We're releasing a set number of tickets to the public. It's free. Register here.

Hey folks! The season finale is almost done, but we need some more footage for one montage. This is where you come in.
Basically, the scene needs to cut to a bunch of shots of different people all watching something on TV, so the goal here is for people to submit shots and have the montage seem way big and more expansive than it ever could if I was shooting it all on my own
