Agents and Kings Chapter 4: Pages 12-14

I was working on the last page and ended up having to scrap it, hence having three pages on a Sunday instead of two on Saturday like I promised. I figured getting three pages done this weekend was a bit more productive, especially because I just wasn't all that     happy with my work on that last page. 

But, now I have leniency to work on a crack sketch that I've been going back and forth on all day xD

It'll just be genderbent cast members, not a huge deal...

OOOO. Okay this hasn't gotten gory yet, but be warned that it will be within the next ten pages. These poor lads have no idea what they have stumbled into. 

In other news, this next pokemon animation I have planned is something that will probably take a while, which is why I haven't posted a keyframes video in a while. I want to try and be as technical as possible and really push myself on the quality of the animation itself.

No comic update this week

I'm so so sorry y'all. My computer crashed on me yesterday and deleted the four pages I had spent this week working on. Normally Clip Studio is pretty good at auto saving so I have no idea why it just discarded all of that work but... yeah, I'm gonna have start chapter 4 from scratch again. 

I think I'm mostly disappointed because the set up for the action sequence was coming together nicely but... I guess this gives me an opportunity to make it better? I don't know.

Agents and Kings chapter 3: pages 41-44

For all of those who have dealt with tragedy and truama, please don't feel obligated to read these next few pages. We are pretty much at the tail end of chapter 3 and it will consist of Deleon being consumed by the sadness and pain that he had been otherwise too preoccupied to deal with until now.

Buckle in, cause it's gonna get *emotional* as Deleon starts to really come to terms with the events that have taken place in these last three chapters. 

It's difficult to try and imagine what it's like to have been alive for less than two weeks and having to cope with all of these tragic events and the emotions attached to them. Normally adults have some semblance of a grasp on how they handle sadness, but Deleon has none of that.

Animation progress: Scar

Aaah! I didn't realize that five days had passed before I posted anything! To make up for me having lost track of time, here's TWO posts today, that way I can get the weekly two in before the weekend starts lol

AHA, finally finished these pages after a week of frantic disorganization, haha... 

This was all because of a schedule change, though, which threw off my daily rhythm. I don't know if anyone else here relies on a structured schedule to function, but if you do I'm sure you understand how a drastic change can just tip you off balance for a little bit.

Calloway as Scar keyframes

And, finally, I get to animate Calloway as Scar! To be honest, so far, figuring out how to lower Scar's pitch was the most time consuming part of this entire thing. Only because I'm not good at garageband, haha...

But this isn't even all of the keyframes, there's still a few seconds left where Zazu chastises Scar and... well... it's gonna be Morgan's voice for now lol

Haunter animation remake linework

I think this is the fastest I've ever pumped out lineart for an animation. I was going for a disney feel with the constant camera angle switches and exaggerated movements. This is what I ORIGINALLY wanted to do with this animation, but didn't have the know-how or skill to really get it done. I'm really happy with how this is turning out, and I'm super excited to see what the finished product will come out looking like.

Sassy walk keyframes (featuring Tama and Dexter)

So, I'm working on animations in between comic uploads. I hope that I can come to an equilibrium with uploads that feels like I'm moving forward without going at a snails pace. 

This one is just another walking study, but with more of a bounce. I want to be able to animate dances eventually, but I've found that capturing the beat along with rhythmic motion AND following basic rules of animation is HARD.

Flareon keyframes

It took me a while to find a good sound to use for a flareon transformation, but I like the idea of a cute girl being aggressively metal. It's not exactly an original concept, though lol

I've been trying this new things where I split my day in half, so that I'm animating and building the comic at the same time. Lately I've been doing one week comic, one week animating. Hopefully it will make turn around times more consistent.

Hi guys! Just checking in to let yall know that I'm not trying to slack on posting. I promise I'm working my butt off every day after work to make videos and comic pages. This last animation just took a loooong time to finish and was a lot more work than I anticipated it to be. I'm slowly coming to an understanding as to why animation studios tend to employ a lot of people for different roles.

Smaug part 3 animation progress update

yep, still got some more keyframes to add, but at least I've got some of the in-betweens done. I tried getting at least a full clip done, but it takes a while to get the lip sync done the way I imagine it to be. I'll be posting some more comic updates in this next week while working on the animation.
