Greetings and welcome to the first tutorial of the new year! Feels good to take that first step of 2022. In this video we're taking a look at creating non metallic metal gold armor. Finally getting settled in to my new home. This last week has been a productive one and I wanted to share what I've worked on over these last five days.

Space marines have always embodied that Sci-Fi knight aesthetic and the Emperor's Champion even more so. What a great Sculpt. I appreciate that they've broken away from the eagle on the chest and provided some area to work.

Salutations, Chromatic Warrior! This week we're taking a look at a lovely sculpt from Creature Caster and a bit of a reversal of the usual concept. Ordinarily I speak on the topic of cold shadows and warm highlights, as we see the world in that way quite often. But this time I wanted to switch the order and create a piece with warm shadows. This time around we're taking a look at the process for creating sky and earth reflective non metallic metal. Zeroing in on a few key areas. In this video I make a reference to an older recording in which I was painting a black and white model. It's a oldie but a goodie and will help understand how to find the way light interacts with reflective materials.

This week let's talk about yellow and add some stripes, Torryn must be dressed for war and drab colors won't do! My inspiration for this came from looking at images of Germanic barbarians, I'm going to something a little loud and a little dirty, which seems like a good fit. Enjoy!
Next time we see Torryn we'll be talking about some atmospheric NMM and I'm pretty stoked on that :)
What a great time to paint a killteam, the game has been turned on it's side but the benefit of kitbashing is that they can represent a variety of troops.
These models were assembled by my good friend, Mr. Chang, and since I previewed them recently, I wanted to share the end result. Done and dusted, ready for war B) Enjoy!
Kicking off the series on Torryn the Legend, let's take a look at that skin tone. I'm going for that ever popular fantasy style were the hues are a bit over emphasized. You may notice his garb is painted as well, we'll be talking about that in a future video.
