Chapter 164: First Dual Cultivation Session

A/N: Lemons up ahead.

*****

Immortal cultivators can do a lot of things humans could not.

For example, not breathing.

“Mn…”

The slurping sound continued for five minutes. Not once did Kiana separate. She held my head firmly with her hands. She sat firmly on my abdomen.

The intoxicating scent she emits, the mellow taste of her saliva, and the desire that could not be hidden in her eyes almost turned me crazy.

A scratching feeling came to my heart.

I want to push her down.

I want to do a lot of unspeakable things with her. These chaotic thoughts gave rise to my dick. All the pent-up frustration gathered in my first and second head.

My consciousness began to blur when Kiana chose to separate.

One look in her eyes told it all.

She noticed my little brother.

“Wait.”

I took out a jade slip and passed it onto her. Kiana’s eyes widened when she pressed it on her forehead. The already red blush present on her face turned to a deeper shade of red.

“You… You prepared for this?” She asked tremblingly.

“Yes.”

I did not hide it. My breathing quickened as she moved her butt down to my second head. She pressed onto my stomach with her hands.

“Cultivators… are different from humans.”

I tried my best to give an impromptu lesson… until her butt pressed down to my tent.

The sight of Kiana’s uneasy look as well as her lewd movements further eroded my reason.

Her breathing soon became as unsteady as mine.

Kiana’s current outfit is her Finality battlesuit. It has a horrendously high skirt… if it could even be called that. There was nothing but a pair of white underwear beneath. The back part of her cape covered my legs. The wings beside her legs gave off an ethereal feeling.

Despite being separated by our clothes, it is nothing short of lewd.

“Fu…”

I heard Kiana’s soft breath once again. My hands could no longer sit still and grabbed her waist. The gaps of her Finality battlesuit allowed me to touch her skin.

I am not mistaken.

Her soft waist felt boneless. Its slenderness is unmatched. The smooth skin further added to her toned body.

Kiana got startled. She paused her movements. This gave me the breathing time to explain.

“Operate your spiritual qi according to the [Sun-Moon Creation Art]’s instructions…”

Oh, god.

The remaining part of my reason prevented my desires from fully erupting. We need to make this situation worthwhile.

Without the proper dual cultivation art, we will miss out on ten times the benefits. Having sex with and without it is the difference between heaven and earth.

The spiritual qi operation wasn’t much. Kiana and I needed to be “in-sync”. Then came the entanglement of our spiritual consciousness.

“...Ah.”

Our eyes looked at each other. A stronger connection than before emerged. I could sense most, if not all of her thoughts.

Kiss. Kiss. Kiss. Kiss…

My heart that slowly calmed down beat faster. My eyes fell on her lips once more.

Spiritual consciousness can be used on a lot of things. The five senses can be transmitted from it.

Touch, smell, scent, taste, sight…

I took the initiative to let my spiritual consciousness sink atop her body. She followed suit according to the instructions.

A burst of pleasure exploded inside my head. My five senses captured everything on Kiana.

Everything.

“Huff…”

“Hee..?!”

It was worse on her.

Kiana’s eyes narrowed down into slits. I didn’t know if she would fall unconscious by the next second. The pants I wore got wet . The pulse on my neck throbbed. My dick attempted to push back Kiana’s butt, but to no avail.

“Last… Kiana.”

She seems to have woken up when she heard my words. Her semi-drunken state rendered her powerless, however.

Her upper body fell to my chest. She could no longer become as playful as before. Her soft breasts pressed onto my chest.

Such a vulnerable side burned all my remaining reason.

I skillfully switched our positions. I pushed her down the bed. Her unsteady breathing and opened eyes conveyed her thoughts.

The merged spiritual consciousness continued to affect us both. Our five senses are filled with nothing but each other. Kiana’s scent, smell, taste, touch…

I initiated the kiss. The mix of our merged minds and bodies turned into the purest desire. I used entanglement with my tongue. It is extremely effective.

“Heeah..?!”

A firework exploded in my mind… and in reality.

Kiana’s second water fountain erupted. I looked downwards, to her legs, and saw it tremble non-stop.

The sight of her long, smooth legs acting like this fueled further to the fire. Her soothing voice that was turned into a huge mess is in contrast with her lively tone.

‘Love. Love. I love you..!’

Her cheesy lines melted my heart. It prompted me to engage in another kiss for an entire minute.

I grasped her legs with my hands as I made my way below. My touch seems to have electrified her, letting out some garbled words.  All I could see at this moment was her “M-shape” posture. The full glory of her legs and feet are exposed.

Beneath her “skirt” was her underwear. The honkai-made outfit could not escape its fate of being soaked. Clear liquid pooled onto the bed. The thick yin qi tempted me to absorb it… but I chose not to.

My dick is already burning. Half of my desires want to plunge it deep inside Kiana. My remaining desires wanted to satisfy her—to make our first time memorable.

“Mn.”

The superimposition of our mental connection, spiritual consciousness, and physical touch brought another wave of pleasure down to my spine. My lips kissed on her snow-white thighs. Curiosity took hold and led to me leaving a mark on her thigh.

“Hn..!”

I overestimated Kiana’s resistance. Clear liquid began to leak out on her otherwise wet underwear. The trembling on her legs became extremely uncontrollable. Some of them squirted straight to my face. Our spiritual consciousness knows about this taste.

Still, I wiped them from my face with my fingers, which then went inside my mouth.

I heard a lot of “knowledge” about this. It is supposed to be fishy and unappetizing.

This is not the case at all.

It has a tinge of sweetness amidst the slight citric flavor, like honey and tangerines combined.

I looked at the growing pool of liquid on the bed. I did not hesitate further and drank from the small oasis. The traces of yin qi entered my throat along with the twisted sense of accomplishment.

My little dragon turned even bigger at this point. Bits of pre-cum leaked out of it, staining my wet shorts again.

“D-dirty…”

I looked up and saw Kiana struggling to hold her head high. She watched my actions in shock, with deep crimson red staining her face. She is no longer a Tuna at this point, but a shrimp.

A lewd shrimp.

I responded to her with actions. With one touch, her wet underwear disappeared into traces of honkai energy. I, too, am a Herrscher. I know the operations behind outfit creation.

I became breathless at the treasured sight.

As expected, immortal cultivators shed off their pubic hair. The way up to her abdomen is smooth.  The pink slit dripped with clear liquid. The small pink bean matched the trembling of her legs.

I dug in.

“Ahe..?!”

Disregarding her weird noises, the tip of my tongue began teasing the said bean. It immediately triggered a wave of response.

Her pussy, which is still letting out clear liquid, sent out another huge wave. Some of them spilled out of my mouth, but most of them went straight to my throat.

Suddenly, her legs locked my head. The soft touch of her thighs sent my tongue into a crazy frenzy.

I stopped fiddling with the bean and went inside her. The suction force of her inner folds caught hold of my tongue. It is so tight it sent my mind into a reverie.

If it was my dick inside…

..!

I stopped playing with her pussy after she came twice more. Her legs did not stop trembling. I moved out and saw her current state.

Her waist-length silky white hair became disordered. Some of its strands fell to her mouth. Bite marks appeared on her right hand. It is done in an attempt to process the overwhelming pleasure.

Drool escaped from the tips of her mouth. Her pupils are rolled back up.

“Kiana.”

I held her waist using both of my hands. To my surprise, the tight-fitting dress became loose. Kiana adjusted its size.

A simple downward tug revealed her pair of snow rabbits. My mind was sent into another wave of frenzy, not knowing what to do.

I want to bite onto them.

But…

My dick can’t hold out any longer.

The second head prevailed.

“Kiana.”

“...Ah?”

As if woken from a dream, she fuzzily responded.

“I am doing it.”

I said no more words. Her sleepy eyes widened. A wave of anticipation could be seen from it.

Want.’

I hesitated no more. I pulled down my pants. My kneeling position could not remove them fully. I chose to teleport them out of this bed instead.

My raging dick spilled out a trace of clear sticky fluid. It has been frustrated since the beginning of this ordeal.

I did not test Kiana further. My glans plunged straight inside her. The shaft followed next until it struck a thin flesh membrane.

Chills are sent down my spine. I bit my lower lip in an attempt to suppress the unprecedented pleasure assaulting my brain.

Kiana’s inner folds acted like an octopus’ suction cups. It clung deeply into my flesh rod, ensuring it covers every single inch of it.

I turned to look at Kiana.

Tears are dropping out of her eyes. It gave her pupils a misty look. The short bursts of moans and breathing intertwined together to form a stimulating sound.

Another wave of yin qi was discharged as a result.

I met her gaze.

‘I am breaking it.’

‘Um.’

With her permission acquired, I exerted the remaining force on my waist. My erect dick punctured through her flower wall.

Simultaneously, a burst of yin qi far incomparable from before emerged. Pain did not daunt her; pleasure did.

The “Primordial Yin” is the purest yin energy of a female cultivator, representing their virginity. It is formed out of their pure years, akin to a catchbasin that stores their yin qi. It has the strongest effect during a Taoist Couple’s first time.

Most of my shaft was taken in when my glans reached her womb. Three thrusts in and a weaker yin qi discharged along with her clear fluids.

The cold sensation it brought along with the sloppy, warm insides formed a contrasting feeling. The swaying of her breasts formed a hypnotic effect, attracting my attention.

I did not last a minute before the volcano erupted.

The fusion of body, mind, and soul created a huge change. The yang qi discharged from my dick merged with the unabsorbed yin qi from our surroundings—including her Primordial Yin. The power of the fourth grade phoenix Demon Core inside my body also added into the mix.

The two contrasting energies formed a yin-yang pattern before turning into a chaotic gray energy.

The [Sun-Moon Creation Art] dubbed it as the “Creation Qi”.

At that instant, the two of us got caught into a higher level of pleasure. The fusion of our mind, submerged spiritual consciousness, and the absorption of creation qi elevated our minds to new heights.

The vision of a sun and moon appeared. One emitting untouchable flames; the other cold serenity.

The two celestial bodies met, merging into a ball of gray clouds. The creation of the big bang could be seen inside it. The next moment, it is the creation of life. Then the birth of plants, the emergence of celestial bodies…

“...tnecsed s’noitalubirt driht ehT”

An ethereal voice resounded. Her eyes, mixed with ocean blue and the brilliance of a purple star, caught my attention; though her words gradually slipped out of my memories.

A flash of silver light spelled the end of it all.

A sense of loss popped up. It was so strong I knew it was abnormal. It felt like I forgot something.

{Sun-Moon Creation Art: Entry > Great Accomplishment}

The waves of insights dissipated after an unknown period of time. My mind reverted back to reality.

Kiana’s disheveled look contrasted her clear eyes. My heart could not help but tighten, urging me to love her more.

She regained ‘consciousness’ after our first dual cultivation session.

My mind also regained that bit of clarity. I noticed the seed belonging to the Dao of Yin-Yang change.

{Supernatural Seed: Dao of Yin-Yang (Breakthrough Requirements Met)}

It meant that I can turn it into a supernatural power the moment I reach the Golden Core Realm.

{Body: Late Purple Mansion > Peak Purple Mansion (Breakthrough Requirements Met)}

{Qi: Late Purple Mansion > Peak Purple Mansion (Breakthrough Requirements Met)}

{Mind: Peak Purple Mansion (Breakthrough Requirements Met)}

Golden Core Realm is within my reach, all because of the adorable Tuna beneath me.

“It’s too hot…”

Her drunken voice sounded very lewd.

“More.”

My dick turned hard inside her. Kiana’s eyes widened. She must have felt it twitch inside her.

The moment of serenity was broken. The previous scene of pure desires re-emerged. My waist started thrusting again. Her inner folds responded by clinging tightly to it. I shifted my hands to her previously unaccounted breasts.

I took hold of it with my palm. My fingers sunk deeply on her jade-like flesh. It wasn’t exaggeratingly big, but it is still big. It is bigger than what I remember—another cultivation perk.

The superimposed pleasure from mind and body proved too much for her to handle. Not even a minute later, Kiana discharged her yin qi for the sixth time. More drool escaped from the tip of her mouth.

An evil thought emerged.

My fingers pinched her nipples.

“Ahun..!”

Her insides gripped my dick tighter. Her entire body tensed up. Kiana discharged her yin qi for the seventh  time. Another pool of clear liquid gathered on my knees. Her clear eyes blurred; her pupils rolling back.

It aroused my desires further.

After squirting yin qi for five more times, the second eruption came. The unabsorbed yin qi gathered with the hot yang qi on her womb. The creation qi is less concentrated than before, yet it managed to send us to another state of revelry.

Kiana’s consciousness is on the verge of being lost. Her remaining awareness, however, let her move her waist. Her waist moved in a circle, forming a new swirling sensation around my flesh rod.

My dick turned erect for the third time.

I started thrusting. My mouth moved to one of her breasts and started nibbing on it. Her continuous trembling and jolting fueled my evil desires. She is completely different from the Kiana who always took the initiative. The domination loss turned me on.

I focused on her breasts this time. A lot of light red marks are left on them, staining the flawless jade peaks with my trace.

I traced her waist and her abdomen. A slight bulge appeared. It became more prominent with each thrust.

Impregnation…

[Sun-Moon Creation Art] takes care of it. The yin and yang qi are converted to improve cultivation.

Kiana bearing my child…

These thoughts fueled my desires further.

I did not stop nibbling at her breasts. My tongue made its way to her armpits. Each and every touch of my tongue made her jolt.

‘Dirty…’

‘No, it’s not.’ I replied. ‘It tastes good.’

My desires surged further. One of her  arms detached from my back. I held it as I dug into the treat—Kiana’s armpits.

It felt strange and is a taboo, yet its sweet, mellow, and slightly salty taste induced me to continue feasting on it.

I lost count how many times she came. My edging game is too strong. The waves after waves of pleasure failed to render me as powerless as before.

Having done licking her armpits, my tongue made its way to her neck.

In a similar manner as before, I left one hickey after another. She did not react much, save for her left hand clawing at my back. The Dao of Yin-Yang, [Xiutian Art], and my Yang Spirit Roots made me more “durable” than Kiana.

The tip of my tongue caught some of her overflowing saliva. The moment it went inside her mouth, she automatically reacted. Kiana ran on battery-saving mode. I recognized the familiar movements of her tongue—it is nothing but muscle memory at work. She is 90% wasted.

Her eyes are already closed. Her long legs locked my waist amidst all of it.

If it wasn’t for our stable mental connection, I would have thought she fell asleep.

She is too overwhelmed with everything and did not have the leisure to think properly.

‘...Fuck.’

A vulgar word came from her.

Fuck me. They say this… They moan loudly too…’

She explained with the last bit of her rationality.

‘I… I can’t moan that…’

‘I will make you.’

Her eyes shot open. Still engrossed with the kiss, I clung on to our conversation.

‘There are some special auxiliary techniques…’

‘No, no, no! Not yet!’

Her hands dug deeper into my back. It did not cause any wounds, merely light scratches. My physical body is not for show.

“Muhm..!”

She experienced another yin qi discharge. Kiana momentarily fell silent as her eyelids drooped. Her remaining strength went to her legs, arms, and pussy that hugged me tightly.

It did not take long for me to follow suit.

The third eruption occurred.

Like before, creation qi was born out of our fusion. It is easily absorbed by us, turning into pure power that slightly increases our realm.

The chaotic scene continued to unfold.

Wanting to see Kiana in a new posture, I flipped her body over with her back facing me.

It is, yet again, a perfect work of nature.

My urge to mark her led to my mouth leaving a lot of hickeys on her snow white skin. I pulled her dress downwards until it disappeared as bright purple dots. Her full body came to my sight. My eyes moved downwards to her perky butt.

It is the same butt that used to tease my dick. My hands grew restless as I tried its elasticity.

Kiana is the best example of “medium is premium”. There are no exaggerated curves. She sits in-between petiteness and plumpness.

I have no complaints whatsoever.

I pulled her lower body upward. Kiana followed suit, ending up with her lower body kneeling onto the bed—her butt pointing upwards.

I was about to insert it on her pussy when my eyes got attracted by something else.

The inner demons whispered strongly.

I fell for it.

“Ah..?!”

‘Bah! Dirty! Again!’

Both her unintelligible shout and mental thoughts showed how startled she was.

‘You stopped using it since you stepped on Foundation Establishment. It’s not dirty.’

‘...Pervert!’

Her words did not sound insulting. It held a more coquettish tone to it.

“Wu…” Her muffled shouts filled with embarrassment and a tinge of anticipation filled my ears.

My glans entered her other hole. An incomparable tightness placed my dick on a chokehold. Her muscles tensed up, though it could not stop my rod’s entry to her forbidden hole.

“Eek..!”

Her moans fell to my ears.

The different stimulation created another rainfall. I am behind her. I saw it more clearly. The way her buttocks and legs spasmed turned me on.

To my surprise, her forbidden hole took my entire thing in. My dick did not fully fit inside her pussy.

The moment it was fully inserted, an indescribable sense of pleasure swept through my every being. Her medium buttocks deformed under my assault.

The inner folds inside this hole are different. It did not have as strong suction as her pussy’s. However, it is more prone to tightening—as if the entire muscle walls wanted to squeeze my dick out.

To me, it only felt better.

I started the thrusts slowly. Each time I did so, I could see her jade-like toes curl up. My right hand left her butt and gently massaged her feet.

‘No!’

“Hu…”

I looked down at the bed. The quantity of clear liquids that gathered made it extremely wet. Some of them flowed down to the floor.

A portion of my cum started to flow out too. This messy yet lewd sight intensified the thrusts inside her hole.

“Tian…”

I could no longer hear Kiana speak mentally. Her hands tightly grasped the bed sheets. Her face dug deeply into these sheets. Her neat ponytail turned messy due to the extreme sports we did.

Soon, the fourth eruption came. A weird, garbled, and lewd moan came from her mouth. Her periodic spasms were no longer limited to her lower body. Her shoulders shook as more tears flowed out of her eyes.

Waves after waves of white liquid spurted inside her. I bit my lower lip. This sense of pleasure and connection makes me go crazy.

Fortunately, the time for recuperation came.

The fourth absorption of creation qi caused something. My grasp over my current realms grew slightly weaker. My mind turned clear as I prevented my Golden Core breakthrough now.

I pulled my flesh rod out. The exaggerated width at which her anus expanded reverted to normal. My dick remains covered with her clear fluids.

I began to suppress my realm breakthrough. While doing so, I patted Kiana’s butt, making her rest in a proper posture. I lay beside her.

After a cleaning spell, the bed did not feel as “dirty” as before.

When I saw her messy face, I knew I messed her up.

“Sorry…”

She did not say anything and dug her face straight into my hoodie. I took out several pillows out of my storage ring. She adeptly placed it under her head before falling asleep. Her entire body could not stop trembling. Hugging her alleviated that.

I thought it would end there.

It did not.

Some time later, Kiana woke up energized. All the [Creation Qi] we made was absorbed by her. Her three cultivation realms reached the late Purple Mansion Realm, just short of reaching the peak stage. Most of the Creation Qi went to her mind and soul. Her body was nourished by both demon beast meat and honkai energy, leading it to catch up.

Of course, she became stronger.

Kiana looked aggrieved due to what I did before. I did dominate her one-sidedly.

“You pervert. It's my turn!”

Despite those “harsh” words, it was more of a challenge. Kiana’s prime state wants to regain back the face she lost.

She basically said: “Nah, I’d win.”

Just like that, we fell into a seemingly endless cycle of dual cultivation

Chapter 163: Sweet Resolution

A/N: Do check the previous chapter. I uploaded the wrong one. I fixed it now.

*****

Trust.

It was something Kiana had for Shi Tian. The latter revealed almost everything to her, save for the golden orb. She understood his identity as an “otherworlder” and was once scared of him leaving her. The details of her “in-game” self did not faze her much.

What mattered the most is the present, not some useless what-ifs that never happened.

She met Shi Tian, fell in love with him, and became uber happy.

With immortal cultivation, she can live for a very long time with him. She looked forward to these days after defeating the honkai.

Kiana felt the love that reciprocated her feelings. It was just as strong as hers. She thought she was victorious. Nobody else can snatch him away from her.

until now.

‘Seele.’

Kiana’s emotional quotient at this moment surpassed the Tuna’s limits. Her mind acted fast, hell-bent on knowing why Shi Tian acted like this.

The answer presented itself rather easily.

“Ah.”

A soft exhale came from her.

His perfect features came to her sight. In his eyes is not sharpness, but gentleness. That, and a hint of helplessness.

He is always like this.

Kindness was what started everything between the two. Kiana gave her food and a hoodie. In return, Shi Tian was hell-bent on repaying her. This gradually evolved into him joining on her journey.

Shi Tian is kind.

A perfect figure, considerate mind, and a kind heart.

Every single attractive thing gathered onto him. It was no wonder he can sway hearts like hers and Seele’s.

Shi Tian loves Kiana. He considered all of her thoughts before he decided to reject Seele. It was cruel, but that way, she can move on faster.

That notion changed when Seele experienced a severe breakdown. Her mental state diminished rapidly when she thought she had zero chances with Shi Tian.

In the end, Seele could not bear to give up her love. This forced Shi Tian to reconsider the rejection path.

If he carries on with it, what would happen to her?

The revelation caused the incident with this special Bubble World. If he ruthlessly rejects her, it could only be a bigger incident than this.

‘He is so good… I cannot bear to leave him to others…’

Thinking about it, Kiana’s hug on his chest tightened. Her fists crumpled the back of his cloak. She hid her face by digging on his chest.

She knew very well what Shi Tian meant by not “rejecting” Seele. Kiana does not wish to see Seele suffer because of it. She is greedy and selfish to a certain extent, but she is ultimately kind. Seeing Seele get hurt is not something she wants to see.

Even so…

Can she give him up?

‘...No. I can’t let you leave. Never.’

Shi Tian’s soft sigh floated on her ears. She felt him placing his hands on her back and head.

“...Sorry… for asking that thing. I will reject her. I will make sure Seele is be safe and—”

“...No. I… I haven’t said anything yet.” She answered weakly.

“..?”

“I will… share you with Seele.”

*****

Out of everything, love is the hardest thing to resolve.

Otto Apocalypse’s 500 years of obsession.

Kevin Kaslana’s vow to defeat the honkai.

All of them stemmed out of love.

Otto saw Kallen’s pure will and was attracted by it. Kevin inherited MEI’s wishes and wanted to lead humanity to victory.

I thought it would be simple enough. Kiana’s extremely strong love drowned me in. She reciprocated the feelings I held back in my heart. The character I once admired loves me.

What more can I ask for?

I underestimated the greed of the human heart… my heart.

I was firm with rejecting Seele at first. Being with Kiana made my day brighter and more colorful. I was satisfied with her company.

If it meant keeping Kiana, I can reject Seele’s feelings…

…or so I thought.

Seele’s equally strong longing continued to test my heart. I reasoned I could not like her purely because of my mental age… but I am at least a million years old. This is merely an excuse.

The [Xiutian Art]’s existence says it all. It binds people for eternity—marriage. It is a path that leads to immortality by having its user and his partners work together. I denied its true purpose at that time.

I felt so lost that I opened up to Bronya at that time. I sought advice from her whom I consider as a trusted friend.

She gave me a crazy preposition. She suggested taking both Kiana and Seele. She reasoned that I was different—that I will treat them right.

Before I could expound on that, the incident happened. Only now did I have a chance to think about it again.

A part of me thinks it is unfair. It is unrealistic to have a harem. Everyone does not want to be treated unfairly. I do not want to treat others unfairly.

Admittedly, I had this fantasy when I first came to this world. Things changed when Kiana confessed. I do not wish to see her cry. I would never forgive myself.

When Veliona told me about Seele’s impending confession, that was the time I realized. I had to face this myself. It is infinitely better for me to get hurt rather than Kiana and Seele. I can sacrifice my lifespan, so long as I can ensure Seele’s safety upon the impending disaster.

I had so many plans in mind such as being the bad guy so that I could reject Seele—to remove her attachment to me. I would rather be one than to see Kiana cry.

Even then…

I asked that question to Kiana.

I am greedy enough to want that future.

I feel so stupid.

Looking at her being unresponsive, I placed one of my hands on her head. The other one went to her dream-like waist. My mind went into a daze along with my regrets. My mouth moved on its own and spilled out my apologies.

Just then, her words sent my mind to a halt.

“I will… share you with Seele.”

Huh?

Huh.

Huh..?

My brain stopped working. I saw Kiana lift her head. Her clear ocean-like pupils met my gaze. Within is an explosion of emotions.

Love.

Longing.

Desire.

It was so strong it manifested into a heavy aura around us.

“But… I want it all. The firsts.”

I understood Kiana’s words. This kind of tacit understanding was something we developed a long time ago.

First handholding.

First kiss.

First hickey.

Her words meant a lot of things.

Most importantly…

First love.

Her eyes narrowed as she tiptoed. Our height difference is closed in an instant. At that instance, her soft lips touched mine. The greed in her eyes overflowed. Her hands wanted to make my attire a mess.

With a thought, I reverted back to my casual attire—a pair of hoodie and pants. Nonetheless, Kiana continued our kiss. The tip of her tongue pried my lips open. Then, with a naughty intent, she got entangled with my tongue.

The messy kissing play intensified when she placed both her arms on my neck. We are no longer speaking with reason, but with desires.

I let go of my control.

I decisively took out the reward from the gacha earlier this morning. It is a late fourth grade palace-type artifact. It can be placed down anywhere and it will expand from palm-sized to a true palace.

Kiana cooperated well. The moment I placed it down, a huge jade-like palace with dozens of pillars appeared behind my back. The huge door opened by itself.

She pushed me inside without interrupting our kiss.

The space inside was akin to a true palace. It has a lot of ins and outs—rooms, to speak of. They are empty and lack any amenities.

Kiana pushed me towards the largest room of them all.

The door automatically closed as I willed it.

Bam.

The accursed late third grade bed appeared out of Kiana’s storage ring.

Reluctantly, she separated her mouth before pushing me down the bed. The heavenly comfort it brought further added to the desires I faced.

Kiana said no words. Her eyes did all the talking. I saw her honkai energy fluctuate.

“No.”

“Hm..?”

“With it…”

I stopped her from changing out of her Finality battlesuit. With a fox-like smile, she sat right above me.

The scene of that night was replicated.

This time…

There is no stopping us.

A/N: Harem route is finally established. I couldn’t believe this took a lot of chapters. But yeah, I don’t want any half-assed development. Next chapter is the first lemons of this fic, and of course, with Kiana.

Anyways, I spoiled this development lol. Dual cultivation has been foreshadowed as early as the first time Shi Tian got the technique. The bound partners, the lifelong oath suppressed... it's all dual cultivation.

Chapter 162: Love Tribulation

A/N: I posted the wrong chapter. Here's the correct one.

*****

A huge storm was set off following Shi Tian’s and Kiana’s disappearance.

The biggest contributor of them all was Kevin Kaslana. He probed the First Herrscher, fought Fu Hua, and had the World Serpent steal emperor-class honkai beast corpses.

That included the surviving judgement-class honkai beast, Benares.

The said honkai beast was in the process of healing her body and soul. Kiana left her somewhere safe, yet World Serpent managed to track her down.

When World Serpent attempted to strike at the judgement-class honkai beast Benares, Bronya appeared and saved her.

The hidden might of immortal cultivators erupted at this instance. Foundation Establishment cultivators are comparable to fully armed S Rank Valkyries at minimum. Two such forces, including Welt Yang, appeared on Anti-Entropy. Two more appeared during the fight with Kevin Kaslana, both of which had their identities concealed with an actual fog (i.e., concealment spell). Everyone assumed they were under Anti-Entropy. Sin Mal and Mei remained under the radar.

On Schicksal’s side, there are only two S Rank Valkyries. Rita was made one due to her reconnaissance and management talent—she does not possess the combat power of one.  One of them is out of commission (temporarily), leaving Bianka to deal with all sorts of reconnaissance and first-hand exploration of the battle aftermath.

A lot of secrets were dug up on the Kaslana Family line. They are shocked to see their Ancestor back in the real world, with zero intention of hiding his identity. This led to the two other families, Schariac and Apocalypse, to question them.

It caused a lot of “trivial fights” within Schicksal’s top brass.

As for their combat power…

Isn’t Bianka there?

In this chaotic manner, the effects of Kevin’s return subsided. One week has passed since then.

A total of twelve days had passed since Shi Tian went missing; nine days since Kiana followed suit.

“I will be giving this Herrscher Core to you, Bronya.”

“...”

At the Salt Lake Base, the trio faced the silver-haired girl. Einstein and Tesla understood why Welt Yang did this.

“The Bronya does not understand. The Bronya did not show any exceptional traits to be worthy of the Sovereign’s Herrscher Core.”

Her voice remained flat as she spoke all these things at once.

“Finally, the Bronya thinks it is a bad choice to surrender the Herrscher Core. The Sovereign will need it against his fight with the World Serpent.”

“It will not happen for a while.”

Welt Yang told the details of their “fight”. It was limit-testing at best. The most important thing was the conversation they had.

Because of his early release, Kevin saw that the situation hasn’t turned dire yet. He wasn’t as rushed to begin Project STIGMA as in the canon. World Serpent hasn’t even experimented with the people of the Arc City. A lot of things remain incomplete.

Hence, Kevin boldly stated of Project STIGMA’s start one year later. He opens anyone who wishes to challenge him—including Anti-Entropy.

“...The Bronya wishes to be enlightened. Why me?”

“Our first meeting was unsavory.” Welt Yang replied. “Still, there is clarity in your eyes. I can see your will to move towards an ideal.”

It would have been a metaphysical, somewhat unreliable basis before. Immortal cultivation changed that.

The current cultivators did not bother hiding how clear or disordered their thoughts are. It is now easier to judge a person.

In Welt Yang’s eyes, Bronya is always moving towards some sort of “ideal”. Her pure mindset caught his attention.

With the time running out and their two top combat forces missing, he knew he had to make a choice.

Bronya fell silent for a while. One look was all it takes to see how sincere Welt Yang is of passing her the Herrscher Core.

Thinking of her missing friends and her being unable to help them… to be as powerless as that…

I understand.

…Bronya chose to inherit.

*****

The catastrophes of the outside world did not have any impact within the Bubble World. They, too, are facing a calamity… a love tribulation.

Before Kevin wrecked havoc…

Before the troubles of the outside world happened…

There was another Kaslana who did it first.

“Hm..?”

Kiana’s eyes lit up at the sight of the familiar presence. She has been in this world for ten days. She wanted to find Shi Tian but was limited by Seele’s circumstances. The latter could not defend herself when something bad happens. Kiana only had an hour to search for Shi Tian’s presence every day.

By that time, the aftermath of the Sundown Alley dissipated. She did not notice any form of abnormal traces belonging to cultivators. This made her search more difficult.

What she didn’t expect was that Shi Tian came to herself. This was already the second time!

Kiana did not hesitate. She flashed right in front of him and locked him in a hug. She buried her face on his chest, greedily inhaling his scent. Her long white hair was styled in a ponytail, giving off a different feel from the typical naughty Tuna.

She turned her head upwards and was ready to initiate a kiss when she saw through Shi Tian’s internal turmoil.

“Did something happen?” She asked.

“No. I have been asleep during the past ten days. I found you through this Earth’s Schicksal equivalent…”

Hearing him talk about large-scale inducement, she felt dumb. She could have found Shi Tian had she headed straight to the Fire MOTH and used her superior spiritual consciousness.

Shi Tian saw her reaction and laughed.

“You are still a paramecium.”

“I know what that means! I am not like that!”

She pouted while retorting her paramecium allegations. He patted her head, which slightly appeased her ‘angry’ look.

“I know. You are too kind. That’s fine.” He then added, “You can leave the rest to me.”

“...”

Driven by her experiences as “Sirin”, Kiana wanted to be her antithesis. She avoided killing as much as possible. The evil people she got were handed over to Anti-Entropy’s prisons.

Only when she encountered those evil people who experimented on children did she lose her temper. Everyone inside those laboratories died. It served as a mental blow to Kiana, though it also forced her to mature when it comes to dealing with things.

She does not want to drag innocents to her problem. That is one of her bottom lines.

“Then, what is it?”

Her innocent question rendered Shi Tian silent.

This was the moment she knew things were more serious than she thought.

“It’s about Seele. I heard about it from her other self. She is planning on confessing.”

“...”

“...and I don’t know if I should still reject her.”

Kiana’s body froze.

Chapter 161: Meeting One's Ancestor

Schicksal, Far East Branch.

Fu Hua’s deployment to the Far East branch as an instructor was approved one month ago.

Formally, she is to teach the young valkyries of the Far East branch and get their performance rating up. Otto’s true intentions remain hidden, however.

Nonetheless, Fu Hua’s deployment in the Far East made it convenient for her to react to sudden crises. A Foundation Establishment cultivator can fly as fast as planes.

Most importantly…

‘...SAKURA.’

She went to the shrine not far outside Nagazora City. It is a dilapidated shrine. The city preserved it for tourism. If they hadn’t, it would have been nothing but an empty lot.

Nobody could have expected that the devastating twelfth Herrscher from fifty thousand years ago would be sealed underneath.

Fu Hua used her spiritual consciousness beneath the ground. There, she saw a black box covered in soil.

Memories flashed in her eyes. Fire MOTH soldiers going out of control, the nuclear warheads killing most of humanity, Dr. MEI’s swift response…

The hectic past remains as nothing but memories.

Just then, she sensed someone. Her body tensed up, ready for a fight.

Fu Hua looked back and saw a familiar friend. His cold eyes alone seeps through his surroundings. Every mortal who comes across him will be scared to move. His strong presence will be etched to their very minds until they die.

Kevin’s presence within the Sea of Quanta is huge. The same happens on Imaginary Space; and so does on Earth.

Fu Hua from before does not have any confidence in holding Kevin for five minutes. She would be lucky to hold him for a minute.

It is different now.

“...So you are here too.”

Kevin’s eyes showed a hint of surprise. A trace of emotional fluctuation appeared on his face. The only time he will show them is when meeting old friends.

“You are here not just to pay respects, no?”

Her deep yet clear voice resounded.

“It is time to resolve the problems of the past.”

“...”

Kevin’s early release led to the Key of Corruption, the Jizo Mitama, to remain as it was fifty thousand years ago. It is a source of evil until the events of Gratitude Arc happen, allowing it to become a complete Divine Key.

Buzz-!

Rumble-!

The instant Kevin’s presence was known, the ground shook. It was not a natural phenomenon, but one out of someone’s anger.

The Black Box which was supposed to keep the Previous Era’s Herrscher of Corruption sealed shook. The sheer malice caused by Kevin’s arrival was so huge the box nearly broke.

Fortunately, there was a reason why it was able to hold the Herrscher of Corruption inside for fifty thousand years.

“Are you running out of time?”

Fu Hua looked at him and asked. He did not shy away from it and nodded.

“One year. I will be enacting the Project STIGMA at that time.”

The implications are clear: come if you want to stop it.

Kevin continued his explanation:

“There is not much time left. I intend to clear some unstable factors… like her.”

Fu Hua looked at him. The old friend she knew had become so inhumane. The last bit of his humanity lies in his will to defeat the honkai.

Ironically, she happened to see her previous situation with him. She lost herself in the path against the honkai.

The precious friends, good memories, warm emotions…

Cling-!

The [Sword Nurturing Pagoda] responded to her thoughts. Her will turned firm as she acknowledged what she wanted—to follow her heart.

“I will not let you do it.”

The Water’s Edge appeared on her grasp. Its tip pointed upwards, the flat side of its blade in front of her face. She swung it downwards diagonally.

Sou-!

A whistling sound ensued. The ground cracked all the way to Kevin’s feet. The next second, the invisible sword intent collided with a layer of ice. Kevin’s ‘authority’ is far higher, at least in the fourth grade. The second realm of sword cultivation could not match it.

Fu Hua does not plan to rely on sword cultivation alone.

‘To shatter Eminence, one must leave one’s misconception.’

Renewal.

It is not a foreign word to her.

After all…

Hum-!

Bam-!

…she is Shenzhou’s Immortal Jingwei (Phoenix).

*****

The large honkai energy readings caught the attention of St. Freya.

“It could only be her.”

The mature woman’s hurried footsteps echoed atop the metal floor. Himeko’s long crimson hair swayed as she ran to the armory.

Unsurprisingly, she met Theresa along the way.

“It’s Fu Hua.” Theresa said. “The last time I heard from the bridge, she was moving farther away.”

“An enemy like that…”

Himeko prepared herself. Fu Hua is an A Rank Valkyrie on-paper, but the two know of her Foundation Establishment Realm. That was a completely different level, with S Rank being the minimum rank.

Shi Tian awakened their spirit roots half a month ago. That was the “surprise” he was talking about.

Himeko awakened middle grade fire spirit roots. It was Theresa that shocked him—high grade Moon spirit root.

For someone who wasn’t chosen as a Herrscher, she held a talent that points straight to the Void Refinement Realm.

There was something incredulous that happened, to boot.

..

“Dear, you want my hand? There is no need to be shy.”

“...It’s for my practice.”

“Hum.”

Himeko is a boss when it comes to teasing. The number of failed dates behind her back exceeds a dozen.

School crush?

She never experienced it.

A proper date?

She never had one.

Heck, her first kiss was initiated by her—to a man that ended up rejecting her thereafter. Nothing goes past her first dates. Everyone chose to ditch her.

The desperation of a woman facing her romantic crisis enables her to be bolder.

A few seconds later, Shi Tian managed to establish a connection. The [Xiutian Art] acted and bound them together. She became the seventh partner—the first one with middle grade spirit roots.

“You too, Principal.”

“Me too?”

Although bewildered, Theresa reached out her hand. Her small palm felt the warmth coming from Shi Tian’s palm.

Then…

Another connection was established.

The eighth partner was acquired like that.

‘...Xiutian Art’s judgement comes from the establishment of special karma…’

He wasn’t dumb to not decipher [Xiutian Art]’s purpose. Just the line about “life-long oath suppressed” points out to those people whom he will have romantic intersection with.

It did not work with anyone else because they have no “interest” in the present, and as such, no future together. With enough interest, the technique judges whether they could be life-long partners or not.

I have a future with her..?’

..

Feeling her three dantians on the verge of breakthrough, Theresa felt this battle was her chance to complete it.

‘But… It feels very strange around him. Why…’

Thinking about immortal cultivation inadvertently leads her to Shi Tian. She is confused why she feels strange facing her future son-in-law.

Shaking these thoughts off, the duo went to their respective positions. Himeko is responsible for heading the Hyperion while Theresa is to set off to help Hua.

Riding a smaller jet, St. Freya’s Principal went off to meet her ancestor.

Chapter 160: Cyberangel, Incoming

Shi Tian’s personality is already known to everyone around him. Being blunt is ranked at the top of his list, and by extension, sincerity.

He always distances himself from strangers, but when someone crosses this barrier, he will genuinely treat them as friends. He never puts up a mask which makes it easier to become closer to him. When he approaches people first, it is certain they are not bad people.

This trait becomes even more noticeable in the eyes of the cultivators around him. Their keen senses can judge a ‘good’ person from ‘evil person. Similarly, they can sense whether one’s mind is clear or disordered.

Shi Tian never bothers to hide his state with spiritual consciousness. Others can tell his general state from a simple glance.

That changed until a month ago.

Seele noticed this irregularity. Whenever she meets him, his eyes often become dazed. His general thoughts could not be read at all. Although he tried his best to act the same, Shi Tian did not feel the same in her eyes.

She repressed her doubts over the course of a month.

When she saw the dreaded hickeys, that was the time she knew—he is already with someone else.

Seele knew who he was with at that exact instance. It is as simple as 1 + x = 2.

Just as x equaled to one...

Who could it be if not Kiana?

Her crash-out led to a strong mental interference. Seele’s Foundation Establishment mind caused the Natural Stigma to be forcefully unlocked. The Sea of Quanta noticed her abnormality and reacted, leading to her being kidnapped and placed in this strange meditative state.

Her other self saw everything she experienced. Hence, when she met Shi Tian, she could no longer hold back.

She spilled Seele’s plan of confessing to him. She did so while Seele was ‘asleep’.

As expected, Shi Tian could not immediately give out an answer. He, who seems to be a god capable of fixing all problems, gets stumped when it comes to love affairs.

The bystander amidst the two, Pardofelis, could only look at the sleeping girl and Shi Tian in confusion. She already adapted to his strange actions. He is as unfathomable as a god who came down from the skies. He is very capable and faced this world’s strongest organization with ease.

The deafening silence lasted for five minutes. A soft, inaudible murmur, escaped from Shi Tian.

“...I will…”

{“..!”}

Nobody else except the involved parties heard his answer.

As if he was done resolving something, he turned his back on the floating girl. He faced Pardofelis and said:
“Have you learned martial arts?”

“Nya? I exercise, but not martial arts. I can run faster than those scary guys!”

“Then, do you want to run faster?”

“Yes!”

Shi Tian deliberated for a while and gave her a notebook.

The residents of this Bubble World have “fragmented souls”. They are merely memories physically manifested. It is their flaw that makes them unable to learn immortal cultivation. Their fragmented soul makes them lack spirit roots, meridians, and dantians. It would have been fine if it was only spirit roots, but the lack of meridians and dantians cut off their chances to immortal cultivation. The techniques capable of enabling mortals to forge a strong physique and create artificial spirit roots require a complete soul.

He could only hand her a legitimate martial arts technique. It only requires the skillful use of one’s feet to achieve greater speed. It is something he created on a whim; though its power is impeccable.

With the passive strengthening of the fifth grade spirit vein, a mortal’s body recovers faster and becomes stronger faster.

Once he handed over everything, Shi Tian disappeared, leaving the bewildered cat behind.

*****

Earth, Salt Lake Base.

Seven days had passed since Shi Tian left for the Sea of Quanta. Kiana followed suit just two days ago.

The disappearance of the two meant a lot on Earth’s side.

Kiana is responsible for the daily patrols around the world. Though she could not guarantee a 100% success rate, her presence eliminated more than half of the world’s casualties from minor honkai eruptions. The remaining half was something out of her control.

It is akin to playing whack-a-mole. No matter how much she tried to help, there were always places she could not reach. Part of the reason why her technique masteries are left behind lies on this.

If she could peacefully practice 24-7, she might have more techniques on the [Great Accomplishment] mastery already.

Shi Tian’s presence is even more exaggerated. Just by existing, World Serpent dared not to send out another operation. The ‘scouting’ they did a month ago told everything about Shi Tian’s prowess. Only their Sire could hope to match him… and so Kevin did.

His return after being trapped inside the Sea of Quanta for 1,500 years was earthshaking. He used Chiyou’s corpse to regain most of his strength. It will not take long before he recovers to his prime state—granted he will continue consuming more honkai beasts.

Kevin’s first reappearance occurred within the Salt Lake Base. Welt Yang, the First Herrscher, talked with him. A fight then ensued, with no clear winner between the two.

‘If it wasn’t for my cultivation…’

Welt Yang did not think further. He is still confident to exert his power in the Sea of Quanta. His Herrscher Authority of recreation is backed up by the Sea of Quanta’s nature. It is why he could trap Kevin in the original future despite being severely injured.

On Earth, he relied on his strong physique and a dozen spiritual artifacts. No amount of modern weaponry can harm Kevin. The Divine Key replicas can only hold him off for some time.

The two went into a stalemate. They tacitly stopped fighting and returned to their respective places.

The power of hundreds of honkai beasts combined plus his experience in facing the Herrscher of the End overwhelms even Foundation Establishment cultivators. His best match is the Purple Mansion Realm and above.

If Shi Tian hadn’t taken the Judgement of Shamash, Kevin would have been far more terrifying than now.

‘No. It is the Herrscher Core.’

Welt Yang’s steps did not halt. His mind kept thinking of the legacy left by Welt Joyce.

300,000 souls are housed within that Herrscher Core. It is they who helped Welt Yang recreate his destroyed physical body. The processing power of 300,000 souls is enough to handle the creation of a physical body.

Moreover, these 300,000 souls does not merely increase one’s computation power. They have something far more, something Welt Yang could never reach.

The processing speed of a Foundation Establishment cultivator outmatches a mortal’s, yet it could not compare to the 300,000 fully synchronized souls working all at once. There is also something essential "missing", something he could not grasp.

‘If I can pass it to someone more worthy than I…’

He thought of the suitable candidate in mind. Her rationality, coupled with her faster progress in cultivation than him, made her an extremely suitable candidate.

‘It is time.’

Truth’s successor has been finalized.

Chapter 159: The Real Question

Growing with my age… erm, cultivation realm, seeing the world is just as “fun” as cultivating. Karma connects everything in the world—even I am not an exception. Lines get entangled onto each other, forming brand new futures yet to be seen.

So yes, having fun seeing Pardofelis’ panicked look is one of the fun things.

After leaving her hideout, I teleported her to the skies. My [Beginningless Sword] carried her up above. She looked shocked at first and instinctively hugged the flying sword. She adapted to it until we arrived at Fire MOTH’s base in Central City.

Things aren’t that difficult with my spiritual consciousness. I scanned the Fire MOTH base and found the command room with the highest ranking officers.

When Pardofelis heard of my intention to break inside, she was startled for the second time.

“Boss, shouldn’t we hide somewhere?”

“Like in a box?”

“Um!”

“No need.”

All I can say is, there’s no need to become Solid Snake

I hid our existence using spiritual consciousness and ‘induced’ some people to spill Seele’s and Kiana’s general locations. I used this to find out why Pardofelis’ home got wrecked.

An affluent drug dealer is connected with a squad captain that caught Aponia and Kalpas. He led his dozen men, plus fifty or so normal soldiers, to raid Pardofelis’ hideout.

Of course, all of the parties are wiped off this planet now.

“Hm?”

A peering gaze came from behind us. Everyone else inside this bridge head did not notice our existence.

Kevin…

What I didn’t expect was for him to notice our existence. He broke through the concealment of a peak Purple Mansion Realm cultivator.

As expected of the protagonist-level Kaslana ancestor.

“Please, don’t mind me. Treat me like an invisible man.”

“...”

“...”

I did not wait for his reaction. I can already foresee his bafflement.

Buzz-!

With Pardofelis in tow, I teleported out of the Fire MOTH base. She readied herself and stabilized her feet on the flying sword.

“Pardo. Can you manage a business?”

“Nya?”

Her surprise got her tongue tied.

This cute sound…

“O-of course! Isn’t it just buying and selling? Scamming too…”

I am definitely sure the last one’s not a legitimate business tactic.

“Which industry do you want to delve in?”

“Ah… can I choose three of them?”

Along the way, we talked about managing some businesses. It is an easy thing with a cultivator’s capabilities. I can pass on the management and properties of top companies on this Earth for her to manage.

It is not really a necessity. It is more of a side quest. I want to see Pardofelis experience a different future than her… death. I can tell she will be great friends with Senti who is still trapped inside Fu Hua’s Stigma Space.

These interactions that are never seen before and letting them experience a good end… perhaps it is what I want to see the most—my self-satisfaction, to speak.

By the time I reach a higher realm, I can pick up people on the long river of time and revive them. It is not like Otto’s creation of a new branch or the Sea of Quanta’s restructuring of past events.

It is acting upon the real world and going against time itself. The people brought back are real.

That has to wait until I have cut off my karma and reached the proper Void Refinement Realm. Only karma-less beings can go through the river of time and affect the past without any backlash.

Soon, my spiritual consciousness caught something. It is located in one of the Far East’s mountains, the equivalent of Mount Fuji.

At the bottom of it is a place surging with spiritual qi. Its concentration shockingly reached the peak of fifth grade. Its radius of 2,000 kilometers are invisibly affected by it. That was despite being outside the [Two Phase Art]’s range. No spirit veins can be formed outside of it, lest a bunch of lower grade spirit veins have already sprung up.

The spiritual qi outside this radius also dissipates fast.

Even so, it is enough to thoroughly change the lives of the people in nearby cities. Those suffering from honkai corruption experienced improvements.

No wonder Fire MOTH did a blanket search around the Far East.

Tap.

Flutter-!

My feet stepped on the ground. The concealment formation in front of me is made with talismans.

Talisman formations…

Seele and Kiana did well.

I presented my hand to the confused Pardofelis.

“Hold my hand. You’ll get lost if you don't.”

“Ah..?!”

She swiftly placed hers atop mine. Her palm is filled with some calluses, though it remains smooth.

In an instant, a drop of [Life Extending Heavy Water] seeped through her body. Her calluses healed as the dead skin got pushed out. It was so fast she did not have any time to react. Her eyes looked at me in confusion.

“That’s medicine. I can tell you broke your bones before…”

“Boss is amazing!”

My ears never got tired of her praises. I am slowly catching up to Madam Herta’s ability bit-by-bit.

Soon, we arrived at our destination. A lone girl sat crossed-legged mid-air. Her dark blue hair reached the level of her waist. Sacredness and tranquility could be felt from her sleeping face.

Her dantian steadily sucked in spiritual qi.

I withdrew my hand from Pardofelis’ grasp and looked at Seele.

{Seele}

Age: 27

Qi: Peak Foundation Establishment

Body: Middle Purple Mansion

Mind: Early Purple Mansion

Traits: Affected by the Sea of Quanta’s power; in a state of enlightenment and epiphany; adapted to the Sea of Quanta’s nature…

The first three traits explained many things.

Seele encountered a "fortuitous encounter”, causing her cultivation to advance leaps and bounds.

I thought of her experience potions I withheld since a month ago. I planned to give it to her when she completed the qi cultivation of the Foundation Establishment Realm. I can use it to let her mental cultivation catch up, allowing her three cultivation realms to enter the Purple Mansion Realm in one fell swoop.

Breaking through with qi alone is possible, but having all three happen simultaneously increases one’s success rate.

Now that her qi realm fell behind, it is time to give it to her. This is an experience potion made by my breakthrough to the peak stage of mental cultivation.

As for her age, it explained the nature of her "opportunity". Her time is accelerated. I don't know what kind of things she encountered over the past thirty-five days. In her case, it is fifteen years.

I felt guilty inwardly.

I called out for the other Seele

To my surprise, she initiated the contact.

{“You caused this.”}

“...Yes.”

This escapade happened because of Seele’s abnormalities—something that occurred when she saw me.

I am not as spineless as to deny it.

I thought of the things behind Seele’s disappearance. That happened when Kiana and I almost did it. I didn’t clean out the traces she left on my shoulder.

{“She will confess to you. What will your answer be?”}

Her words sent my mind to a halt.

Chapter 158: Easiest Invasion of My Life

Pardofelis has a stinging feeling.

The man she saved is not an ordinary person. She did not think much of it when she was given gold bars. Selling one of them caused an entire armed gang to chase after her.

Of course, she stole every single thing inside their base.

Her adventures aside, she refuses to believe that Shi Tian is just a rich man. The rumors about the monsters and zombies are transparent within the Sundown Alley.

It wouldn’t be a far-fetched idea for some people to have superpowers.

Only…

‘With a snap…’

Seeing Shi Tian knock everyone with a snap of a finger is shocking. She watched him slowly stand up from the bed.

Crack-!

Pop-!

A simple stretch caused dozens of popping sounds from his body.

The moment gold bars appeared out of thin air, Pardofelis hastily caught it. She nimbly ran across the unconscious bodies of the Fire MOTH soldiers.

“This is the payment during the ten days.”

“Boss… are you firing me?”

“???”

He looked at her pitiful eyes.

“Since when did I say that?”

Pardofelis immediately regained her life.

“Oh, that’s alright! Just tell me and I will get things done!” She then added, “Of course, except for fighting others…”

“I don’t need you to fight.”

Shi Tian shook his head.

Pardofelis…

Everyone in this Bubble World has a real physical body. Unfortunately, it is their ‘souls’ that are extremely fragmented. The people of this world cannot practice immortal cultivation. Else, Shi Tian might have gained several new partners with high grade spirit roots.

“Do you know the sanatorium on the third street?”

“Yes? That’s where a generous client lives…”

He scanned Aponia’s sanatorium and found her and Kalpas missing. Heck, even their patients are missing.

Pardofelis caught onto his curiosity.

“They are apprehended by the military. The words on the street say they are terrorists in hiding…”

During the ten days he was out, Aponia and Kalpas came with Fire MOTH. Both the duo and the patients are sent to the Mu Continent’s Central City, much to the envy of many.

In this world where honkai eruptions are prominent, the Mu Continent became the safest haven on Earth.

“Hm… Have you heard of rumors about a white-haired goddess? Or someone saving people in general?” He asked.

“Goddess… Ah! I overheard some people talking about a mysterious savior who is present in hundreds of cities in a span of days.”

Shi Tian nodded.

‘Kiana is here, too. Her Herrscher Authority shouldn’t work here. It’s more dangerous…’

He frowned as he organized his thoughts. Pardofelis became more used to Shi Tian dazing off.

After a minute, she heard him say:

“Do you want to fly with me somewhere?”

*****

Mu Continent, Central City.

It is Fire MOTH’s base of operations. Most, if not all councilors, are staying in this prosperous and safe city.

Unlike other continents, their continental borders are blocked with walls and Fire MOTH personnel. Everyone entering the Mu Continent undergoes strict check-up. The aircrafts flying within its airspace must be confirmed prior to their launch, lest they will be gunned down by anti-air weapon systems.

“Ha…”

Inside the Fire MOTH’s base, the soon-to-be Director walked with somewhat heavy steps.

The white-haired man following her saw this and wanted to console her.

“Doctor Mobius has a recently undergoing project. I can go and…”

“This is not the time for this.”

“...”

Troubles began popping like mushrooms in the wild.

First, the presumed Sixth Herrscher immobilized Fire MOTH’s elite team. She could not be found even after thirty-five days.

It is like having a snake hiding inside one’s room. They wouldn’t know when the snake would strike. Fire MOTH is always on high-alert just for this troublesome Sixth Herrscher.

Then, there is the abnormal man and nun combination. Not even the Cocoon’s elites (Fire MOTH’s assassin group) can take the man down. They could only compromise and allow the patients and the duo to be treated fairly.

The future Director, MEI, was pressured by the higher-ups to do something to Kalpas and Aponia. The residence where they are staying is encircled by hundreds of Fire MOTH elites. Thermal and advanced honkai weapons are present nearby.

Even Fire MOTH’s strongest force, the Miss Pink Elf, was dispatched to stay in Central City.

Finally, a “Snow Goddess” appeared out of nowhere. She is capable of travelling between cities in minutes. It only takes her five minutes or so to settle a minor honkai eruption. She is akin to a force of nature, one that stops all honkai eruptions she comes across.

She is also presumed to be the one responsible for the huge display of telekinetic power ten days ago.

With the Honkai, Herrschers, and people with Herrscher-level powers, the pressure on the Fire MOTH grew sharply. The higher-ups are in a state of panic. This is transferred to MEI, who is appointed as the next Director.

The two did not speak much along the way. They entered the bridgehead, the command room where the head of operations (MEI) directed everyone.

The sight remained as usual. Everyone silently walked to their respective divisions. Some people are holding stashes of paperwork containing confidential information.

Only two people seemed out of place inside this busy room.

One of them is a girl. Her tense and startled looks made it as if she would jump out at the slightest sound.

The other one is a man. His waist-length black hair, coupled with his luxurious eastern garb, is akin to an ancient official that jumped out of a drama series. His face is carved flawlessly, forming an inescapable charm to anyone who sees him.

“..!”

The sense of danger lay on Kevin’s heart. He immediately pulled MEI to his back as he placed his hand on the pistol holstered to his waist. The latter felt puzzled by his actions. It was as if he saw something that she did not.

“...investigating the area within the Far East. Fifty drones, ten helicopters, and two supersonic jets are deployed on a daily basis to search for the missing sixth Herrscher.”

The dignified woman sitting on the command room’s desk spilled every secret she knew of.

Her dull eyes appeared as a side-effect of the [Soul-Lulling Technique]. It allows for its user to place their targets’ minds under absolute control. It is the flawless version of “soul searching arts”.

“Boss. There are two people looking at us…”

The small girl, Pardofelis, tugged at Shi Tian’s sleeve. She pointed towards the newcomers, Kevin and MEI.

After everything she went through in the past hour, she had an untold amount of trust in this “Boss” of hers.

“Hm?”

The woman turned back to her desk. Her dull eyes turned clear as she continued working. She did not have any idea that someone broke inside Fire MOTH’s highly-secured base, more less her spilling confidential information.

Such is the power of immortal cultivators amongst mortals.

“Please, don’t mind me. Treat me like an invisible man.”

“...”

“...”

Chapter 157: Peerless Immortal Master

{“You really made things more difficult for me…”}

Seele’s other self muttered.

She looked at her surroundings. The number of aircraft that flew past her head exceeded three digits.

Twenty-five days have passed since their arrival to this world. An hour ago, the streak of crimson flames appeared.

Seele did not carelessly go into the meditative state. She took out the late second grade concealment talismans and placed it around her. A total of ten of them floated around her.

Then, by using an auxiliary technique, these talismans can be turned into a talisman formation.

Taking account of wear and tear, this concealment talisman formation can last for half a year at best.

Unfortunately, the Sea of Quanta’s influence eroded it. After two more days, it will completely collapse.

With the bunch of military forces flying above them, Seele’s other self knows they are in trouble.

Seele can’t wake up.

{‘Why is it her and not me?’}

No matter how much she called out, Seele could not break out of her meditative state. The combination of the Sea of Quanta and immortal cultivation formed an unbreakable meditation state that rapidly increased her cultivation realms, with the sole exception of her mind.

It would have been a good opportunity if not for the dangers around them.

Swoosh-!

A faster ‘jet’ went past them. Along with it is a quick scan of spiritual consciousness…

{‘..!’}

Moments later, a white-haired girl appeared out of nowhere. The concealment array set up with the talisman formation served no purpose to her.

“Seele!”

{‘It is her…’}

Kiana’s spiritual consciousness scanned Seele. She also scanned her surroundings and made sure there wasn't anything unusual.

“...Hey.”

{“..!”}

“I know you are there.”

{“...Seele is fine. It is just we cannot move her from this position.”}

Seele’s other self was not particularly surprised when Kiana knew of her existence. She knew the might of a cultivator’s spiritual consciousness first-hand. It is impossible for her to hide under Kiana, who is also a higher-leveled cultivator than her.

She began to explain what happened to the two of them.

“...It is my fault…”

Kiana muttered as she looked at the ‘sleeping’ girl.

“But… I cannot give him to you. The others, too.”

{‘...’}

The atmosphere around them reached a freezing point.

“This is not the time for that.”

She shifted the topic from that.

“You say, you are here for almost a month? Only five days passed outside…”

*****

It has been an hour since I came to this world. My arrival caused a lot of changes outside.

I only dreamt of it before… meeting Kalpas.

With my spiritual consciousness, I earned the front-seat of Kalpas beating up presumed Fire MOTH operatives. There have been two waves of attacks within the sanatorium, with Kalpas beating them up each time.

Kalpas is a special Flamechaser. Before he was even a MANTIS, he had the capability to match one. He fought against MANTIS Sakura on equal-grounds without having the MANTIS’ body.

The difference became clear with a quick look.

People can be differentiated into Qi Refining Realm and ‘mortals’. The former are those whose bodies can be compared to cultivators in the early stage of Qi Refining. Their bare-bodies are strong enough to compare to B Rank valkyries without any battlesuits.

On the other hand, the latter are those whose strengths are below the Qi Refining Realm. They are anywhere below C Rank Valkyries with battlesuits.

Kalpas’ body is comparable to the Qi Refining Realm; the rest are mortals. The one-sided massacre resulted in Fire MOTH’s soldiers being beaten up.

The secrets on him did not end there.

My [Encompassing Eyes] peered at the secret of his real strength…

{Nature of Energy: Imaginary Energy (Converted, Differentiated)}

Imaginary Energy is the base form of honkai energy. The latter is merely a “variant” of imaginary energy.

The only problem is its high level.

How can someone with the physique of Qi Refining withstand it?

Just then, I noticed Kalpas turned his gaze to my direction. My brazen acts with spiritual consciousness did not elude him.

I withdrew it afterwards. I did not care if he sensed it or not.

Without anything to do, I spent my time analyzing Kalpas’ uniqueness. It served to reason that direct usage of imaginary energy leads to instant death. However, his body seems to be able to hold on.

It might have something to do with his heart. I can remember Mobius taking it out.

That means his power has a high upper limit. Only, his body could not handle it. That led to Mobius removing his ‘heart’ to turn him into a MANTIS.

In hindsight, that nerfed his power’s upper limit to 60 to 70 percent. This did not matter as Kalpas could only unleash around 30 to 40 percent of them in his pre-MANTIS state. As a MANTIS, he can use up 60 to 70 percent of it.

My deductions grew longer as both honkai and cultivation knowledge were brought together. All of this happened while five of my other techniques are being automatically comprehended inside the [Xinhai Sutra]’s mysterious space.

The mysteries of Honkai, Imaginary Tree, Sea of Quanta, and Immortal Cultivation…

My daze continued until someone touched my arm. Countless new knowledge and conjectures filled my head. My perception over the eleven Dao Seeds I possessed increased noticeably.

I opened my eyes.

Pardofelis’ panicked look filled my sight. A soldier attempted to touch my arm, to which I grabbed his wrist.

“Boss! We need to go!”

I had a hunch.

“You slept for ten days!

I knew it.

Without Welt’s alarm clock, my skewed perception of time came to play.

I did not reply to her immediately. I scanned my body. A burning sensation ran through my veins. I felt more powerful despite the injuries from before.

Unlike before, I did not eat its meat, but rather, its Demon Core. Eating it alone is tantamount to courting death. However, the auxiliary technique, [True Spirit Devouring Manual], allowed for it.

The auxiliary technique’s sole purpose is to help the practitioner absorb the demon beast’s power for oneself. I easily condensed my thirteenth supernatural seed, the Dao of Life.

The power contained within the low fourth grade Demon Core is so huge it still retains more than 90 percent of its power. Still, that 10 percent is enough to help my body recover and raise its realm.

A third of my physical strength is recovered. It will take twenty more days to fully heal it. By the time it does, I will reach the forecasted peak of Purple Mansion Realm body realm; the Demon Core made it a sure-thing.

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t be able to absorb its power swiftly. The Nascent Soul level flames of Shamash made it possible. Being injured is the fastest way to raise one’s body cultivation.

The gap of two major realms almost cooked me literally. It is no wonder my absorption rate became so fast.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.

More soldiers from outside barged in. Pardofelis’ panicked look is a sight to behold. I don’t know why she hasn’t left me, much less allowed herself to be caught by these soldiers.

“Hands up! Do not make any unnecessary moves.”

A dozen or so soldiers pointed their rifles towards me.

“B-boss!”

“Ha…”

I snapped my finger.

Snap-!

My spiritual consciousness extended outwards. A shockwave was sent to the soldiers’ heads.

Thud-!

The dozen soldiers here and the other hundred outside all lost consciousness.

I looked back at Pardofelis and met her shocked gaze.

My attempt to show off (i.e., aura farm) ended successfully.

Chapter 156: The Isekai'd Tuna and the Cat Underling

“Ah..? It’s him!”

Kiana recognized the source of the ‘vibrations’. The familiar ‘presence’ was caught under her spiritual consciousness.

She swiftly rushed out of the gap, arriving in the middle of the ocean.

The moment she did so, her connection with the Herrscher Core disappeared.

Kiana tried to call upon it, but to no avail. She tried to mobilize the honkai energy inside of her body. This time, it worked normally.

Her spiritual consciousness swept through the huge body of water beneath.

“Honkai exists in this world. Then…”

The Bubble World suppresses Herrschers within this world. It is similar to the Bubble World on Earth’s Moon. It was a Bubble World stripped off after the Herrscher of Finality destroyed the Previous Era.

Fortunately, Kiana’s cultivation remained unchanged. The power to uproot a continent and shake the seas is present.

Her flight speed allowed her to reach the mainland in five minutes.

‘...Huh?’

Kiana’s spiritual consciousness scanned her radius of two hundred miles. The unfamiliar language and letter shocked her. Though, she could ‘understand’ the meaning behind them.

Higher-level spiritual consciousness can delve into the meaning of words and actions despite unfamiliarity. It is a built-in translator for immortal cultivators.

Three minutes later, Kiana can now fully understand this foreign language. The ‘word’ that popped out the most reminded her of something.

“Mu Continent? Isn’t this…”

She recalled some conversation with Tesla. Anti-Entropy managed to obtain the information of the Previous Era after the fight with Sirin. It revealed that fifty thousand years ago, there was a human civilization that fought off against the honkai and failed.

This is where their Divine Keys came from.

Judgement of Shamash, Oath of Judah, Black Abyss White Flower…

The moon rocks they obtained also mentioned about the Mu Continent. It is the technological center of the Previous Era.

“This Bubble World is based on the Previous Era? Then, Shi Tian and Seele must be here too…”

*****

I woke up.

A huge amount of memories came crashing down.

From the two-day stay inside that space up to the release of my full-powered honkai attack, everything happened swiftly. With my remaining power as an immortal cultivator, I prevented the aftershock of my descent and teleported straight to the cat’s side. Pardofelis’ “luck” allowed her to survive up until she sent Prometheus to the Cocoon of Finality.

I wanted to take advantage of it and lay low while I was recovering.

“You’re finally awake!”

The loud cry belonging to a girl took my attention. She jumped out of the sofa and swiftly reached the bedside in five seconds.

“I thought you were dead…”

“A corpse doesn’t breathe.”

“What if you are in a coma? I can’t bring you to a hospital! After those officials abandoned this place, there is none around here.”

“...”

Looking at the money-pincher whom I could only see inside the Elysian Realm, I felt complicated.

I understood the nature of this Bubble World by now. It is based on the Previous Era. Seele’s Natural Stigma came from the Previous Era. Factoring in the Sea of Quanta, it is not impossible for a Bubble World like this to be created.

Analyzing things did not hinder me from comforting Pardofelis.

“If money is what you are looking for, I do have it.”

Several stacks of gold bars appeared atop my palm. These are the remaining ordinary gold that came from Anti-Entropy. These can be combined to form ‘gold essences’. It is the sole ‘mortal’ material capable of turning into spiritual materials.

Anti-Entropy’s main spiritual materials while I was away came from it.

“This is pure gold. You can have it checked on any instrument.”

Pardofelis started to drool. She swiftly caught the gold bars I threw using my spiritual consciousness. She hugged these five gold bars dearly.

“There will be ten more if you let me stay here for a week.”

“Ten more?! This house is yours!”

“...”

I underestimated her greed over shiny things. I changed my mind.

“Can you work for me? The monthly salary is five gold bars. Food is included.”

“Nya?!”

Her entire body jolted. She looked at me with widened eyes.

To my shock, she respectfully bowed to my direction.

“Greetings, Boss!”

It took a while to let Pardofelis move away. Her enthusiasm over gold bars is unimaginable. I took out a portion of the unprocessed third grade demon beast meat. I checked her body with my spiritual consciousness. It is similar to a human body. One bite of a finger-sized demon beast meat is enough to fill her up for three days.

Then, it is time to check my body.

My spiritual consciousness remains undamaged. I can exert the power of a peak Purple Mansion Realm with ease.

It is my body that got harmed.

When I unleashed that devastating strike, my output exceeded 50,000 HW. It suddenly doubled to 100,000 HW, something caused by the Judgement of Shamash. I don’t know why it happened. Only, the dead Herrscher Core became no different from my own Herrscher Core.

Maybe it is the reason why Kevin could disable the Herrscher of the End with it. Judgement of Shamash is a special Divine Key compared to others.

I ended up being damaged by those flames that reached the threshold of Nascent Soul Realm.

Did Kevin reach this level in his Diabolic Form? Unlikely.

Then, it is my problem.

I peered inside my physical body. My appearance looks fine. Most of my internal organs are burnt, however. Most of my muscles are scorched black. I am cooked internally. I can’t even move much from this bed.

Fortunately, my soul has the ‘soul protection’ from the spiritual plant and technique. It is originally for the ‘soul tempering’ via honkai energy. It served its purpose and reduced my soul’s injuries.

All in all, my soul injuries can recover within a month as long as nothing bad happens. I have zero spiritual plants related to soul recovery. I can only do it on my own.

My physical body is not a problem. The demon beasts I hunted down are enough as my recovery nutrients. Two months are enough to fully recover.

Once I recover, there is a good chance I will reach the peak stage of Purple Mansion Realm.

Finally, the Innate Spiritual Flames became dormant after absorbing the Nascent Soul flames. It is digesting the power that came from it. The feedback it will give after it becomes a full-fledged fourth grade spiritual flame might be enough for my qi cultivation to reach the peak of the Purple Mansion Realm.

By then, I need to finish honing the peak stage. Breaking through the Golden Core Realm comes next.

Golden Core…

Maybe I can reach it before the final battle?

Chapter 155: The Sea and Seele

Bubble Worlds are the representation of the failed possibilities within the real world. They are the replicas that have fallen off the Imaginary Tree.

As such, the Sea of Quanta is a hub of immeasurable information. Its existence spans far beyond Earth and the solar system. Every world has a connection to it.

Some consider it as a devourer, while others think of it as the Imaginary Tree’s anti-thesis.

At one point, it sensed the presence of a foreign power. It was something that did not come from the Imaginary Tree nor its Aeons. It is a completely independent power.

Its first exposure was the clash between Shi Tian and Nihility. The struggle between an Aeon and an immortal cultivator did not trigger its interference; Seele’s exposure to immortal cultivation did.

As a product of its automatic mechanism, the Sea made its move. This resulted in Seele’s presence being captured by the Sea inside a special Bubble World.

It is the only Bubble World free from the Sea’s erosion, with its sole purpose to oversee Seele’s changes.

Today, the Bubble World’s bright blue skies met a new change. The streak of bright crimson flames could be seen amidst the scorching sunlight.

“That’s too big to be a shooting star.”

The girl climbed up an abandoned signal tower with cat-like reflexes. She did not fear tall heights. She squinted her eyes before placing her hand above it.

“Weird… it seems a bit bigger..?”

As the comet came closer, the girl finally reacted. Her entire body tensed up.

“It’s coming closer!!!”

She tried to leave her vicinity.

It was too late.

Bam-!

Rumble-!

The comet landed one hundred kilometers away from the city’s location. Even so, a deafening sonic boom and magnitude ten earthquake shook countless buildings.

Just as the people panicked, a strange force stopped the earthquake.

Everything stopped in place.

Fallen buildings are put into place. A strong telekinetic force reverted all the damages before it could occur.

The girl, Pardofelis, contacted that force.

“Fu..!”

She stopped breathing. All the hairs on her body stood. It was an insurmountable force that cannot be explained by common sense.

Just as her situation deteriorated, it stopped.

It wasn’t just her. Everyone who came in contact with that force felt breathless. At the very least, none of the people beneath Pardofelis is an exemption.

She swiftly climbed down the signal tower with deft hands and feet. She was about to return to the warmth of her home when she saw an unconscious man nearby.

Her eyes landed on his robe. Its extremely high quality and engravings made Pardofelis’ mouth water. High-end clothing meant the man is filthy rich!

Stealing his stuff is one choice, but Pardofelis is smarter than that. She can wait until the man wakes up and sees his reaction.

If he is bad-mannered, she can steal his stuff;

If he is good-mannered, she can help him return to whatever place he came from. That way, she will earn a good amount of remuneration.

‘I am really smart!’

Just then, Pardofelis glanced at his face.

Time had stopped.

The peerless face is akin to a god’s work. The perfect proportions could turn heads and charm women in one look. His closed eyes and steady breathing created a sense of serenity.

Whatever angle he is looked at, the man looks like a heavenly immortal.

‘...Very handsome.’

Pardofelis snapped out of it. She blinked her eyes again and again. That sense of flawlessness appeared all over again.

It took a while for her to gradually adapt. Pardofelis was more convinced of his rich man identity.

She held his sleeves and took hold of his arms. The soft and smooth surface of his skin lit up her curiosity. The fine muscles on his wrist up to his elbow is enough to fascinate anyone—leave them drooling, even.

Fortunately, Pardofelis cared about the goodies more. She pulled herself together and snapped out of her daze.

She piggy-backed the man.

Amidst the busy and hectic people, she soon went to her hideout.

The subsequent events are luckily avoided by Pardofelis.

First, the ‘government’ started search and rescue. Some sections of the city are cordoned off. It is baffling to the people living in this section… or rather, “slums” of the city.

Nobody cared whether there were any honkai eruptions and zombies appearing here. It is abandoned by the ‘government’ and the power behind them.

Just then, they made a shocking discovery within the Sundown Alley:

A sanatorium is found to be housing patients suffering from honkai corruption.

Honkai energy at this point is akin to radiation. It slowly corrodes and destroys organs, killing its patients with multiple organ failures.

Moreover, the patients suffering from this disease will emanate honkai energy to their surroundings. The more infected people there are within a populace, the greater the spread of the honkai corruption would be.

Seeing a sanatorium housing more than a hundred patients is akin to a honkai reactor setting off in the middle of a city.

The government swiftly passed this matter onto their “higher-ups”, the Fire MOTH. This organization is responsible for fending off any honkai-related matters.

In a matter of thirty minutes, a fully-specialized squad was led to encircle the sanatorium.

They did not bother knocking on the front gate. They want to euthanize the patients, arrest the masterminds, and find out what happened.

Unbeknownst to them, a wild beast is about to be set free.

A burly man stood at the sanatorium’s front door. Behind him is a woman dressed in a nun’s clothing.

“...You wouldn’t say something?”

The nun shook her head.

“Tsk. You are unusually silent today.”

The burly man, Kalpas, did not wait for her reply. He immediately set off the front gate. The sounds of battle resounded outside.

Aponia looked at the skies. The revelation brought by the crimson flames made her aware this is not the real world. It is merely a false world, a copy of what has been in the past.

The greatest evidence lies in her inability to see any more strings. It was supposed to be retained within this false world, only to be forcefully broken by the flames from beyond the sky. Only her power of Discipline remained.

As for those bright heavenly flames…

‘The present's world's hope...'

*****

A/N: Apologies. The bonus chapter has to come tomorrow. Something came up irl and I had to postpone it.

Anyways, I noticed something now. In the earlier chapters, I made a mistake. Kiana's techniques are supposed to be ALL at the [Small Accomplishment] already. I had a brain fart and wrote it as "3 techniques" instead of all. Do disregard that one. Apologies.

Chapter 154: Beyond the Strongest

Bang-!

With a single sword strike, the Purple Mansion equivalent quantum monster exploded into blue lights.

Swoosh-!

A single thrust of my right foot sent my entire body flying. The number of Qi Refining and Foundation Establishment monsters I killed as a collateral exceeded thirty.

My blood boiled as I kept this repetitive pattern.

Whenever these monsters used their authorities to fight back, I changed my target to the unguarded ones.

Then, by tweaking the twice-weakened [Blade Eminence] along the sword tip, I can achieve the same destructive power as the normal [Blade Eminence].

This level of control can only be achieved by brains and mental power far beyond the human limits. Doing it for an entire day is beyond the MANTIS limits.

Fortunately, it is barely within my recovery. I can keep this state all day long.

Sou-!

I rushed straight to the Golden Core monster. A multi-colored film coated the sword’s edge atop [Blade Eminence].

No matter what it did…

Psshk-!

…it could not escape its humanoid head being severed.

With it gone, I earned a minute of rest.

My [Encompassing Eyes] immediately deduced my current state.

{Body: Late Purple Mansion}

{Spiritual Qi: 41%}

I looked at the mysterious space constituted by the [Xiutian Art]. The sizes of the silver clouds available for absorption came to my sight.

Seele’s experienced a sharp increase.

These silver clouds are the result of their realm cultivation. I can approximate Seele’s current progress with them.

Two of her realm cultivations reached the early Purple Mansion Realm. The remaining one is advancing rapidly, too.

Seeing this stable advancement, I can focus on breaking this space apart—that, and farming some combat experience.

As for using forbidden techniques to deprive their souls, this is a no-go. Both honkai beasts and quantum beasts possess a “will” inside them. I don’t want to fight these sentient wills at the soul level.

That is plain courting death.

The monsters soon finished recuperating.

This time, I am determined to do something. Two days is enough to fully analyze this space and gain combat experience.

The [Beginningless Sword] went to my dantian. It was replaced by a pair of black guns. A flow of molten magma is present from its nuzzle to its handle.

An “inflexible” will emanate from it. A wave of clairvoyance went through my entire body.

Buzz.

The pair of guns came to life.

Its requirement is limited to honkai energy reserves alone. Once it was fulfilled, the Divine Key’s abilities opened up to me.

A sense of anticipation welled up. Holding these Divine Keys personally feels very novel.

I moved towards a specific ‘position’. Although this space is chaotic and changes every one minute, it has ‘weak points’ that appear every thirty-fifth and fifty-seventh minute.

This location can pop up anywhere. I had to analyze for two days to reorganize my analysis and predict two locations where these ‘weak points’ appear the most.

Click-!

The guns’ barrels touched each other. A blazing red flame appeared as the divine keys’ form changed into a familiar flaming greatsword.

Hum-!

Swoosh-!

A large amount of honkai energy was funneled straight into it.

1,000 HW.

3,000 HW.

5,000 HW.

Click-!

Unknowingly, Judgement of Shamash’s Zeroth Form is unlocked. The flames it emitted instantly melted the surrounding enemies.

{Divine Key Power Scale Output: Peak Golden Core}

{Divine Key Authority Output: Nascent Soul}

Its output surprised even me. Its range and area of effect is estimated to be at the pinnacle of Golden Core Realm. It can cut through Earth. Its authority, however, went one step further than the supernatural powers.

The brightly burning flames contained traces of the dharma laws. Their mere sight describes the true nature of the Dao of Flames. My mind became captivated by it…

Sizzle-!

The honkai energy I drew surged uncontrollably. The limit, which I set to 50,000 HW, suddenly spiked to 100,000 HW for an unknown reason.

Bright purple lines emerged out of my skin. My internal organs started to fail, only to be counteracted by spiritual qi’s recovery effect.

Unfortunately, Judgement of Shamash became out-of-control.

The damage done to my physical body far outpaced my current recovery.

Both honkai energy and these extremely hot flames resulted in serious injuries.

Creak-!

Controlling my Herrscher Core served no use. It lessened the damage of the flames but increased the intensity of the honkai corruption in my body. It is akin to drinking poison to quench thirst.

Just then, pale blue flames surged out of my dantian. It surrounded me as it began to actively ‘devour’ parts of Shamash’s Nascent Soul level flames.

Its grade began to increase sharply. It decreased the power of these flames over my body. In turn, my mental power and spiritual qi consumption took a turn for the worse. I could only remotely control the recovery pills to my mouth and munch on them.

All of this happened because of Shamash’s unexpected reaction. The power of this flaming sword far surpasses anything I have ever launched. Its charging time did not exceed ten seconds.

Looking at the weakness of this space…

Bam-!

…I delivered the full-powered strike.

*****

The strongest forerunner of the Previous Era, the Sequence Number 1 of the Thirteen Flamechasers, Kevin Kaslana.

His strength was never to be trifled with. He used his human body to kill the fourth and sixth herrschers. When he became an emperor-level MANTIS, he managed to deal with the seventh Herrscher.

By the time they fought the final herrscher, Kevin’s fully-charged attack immobilized the final herrscher for twelve hours.

That was the result of his Chimera form, Diabolic Kevin.

Even then…

Bzzt-!

A loud “bang” appeared within the Sea of Quanta. Its sheer fluctuations sent waves into the bubble world where Kevin stayed.

“...A god.”

It wasn’t just Shi Tian who was vigilant. Kevin maintained the strictest vigilance against Shi Tian. It wasn’t so much as aversion. Rather, it is respect.

He had made up his mind to enact Project STIGMA a long time ago. All of their failures pointed out the futility of humanity’s efforts. Kevin’s heart is worn down by it.

His final ‘willingness’ dissipated when he pushed Su out of this bubble world. He gave humanity 1,500 more years to show him a feasible plan aside from the Project STIGMA.

Once he comes out, there is no going back.

“It surpassed my killing blow that day. But… it is not enough.”

Shi Tian’s 50,000 HW with Judgement of Shamash’s Zeroth Form could immobilize a full-powered Herrscher of the End for three days at least. That was without the use of Selene to stave off 32% of the Herrscher’s reserves. Its difficulty is unmatched.

However, that was it. The Herrscher of the End could not be defeated. Aside from its twelve authorities, it possessed a “life level” far beyond what they could hope to defeat.

In short, she cannot be killed. At most, she can be immobilized. It is this immortal-like enemy that pushed the Previous Era to the brink of despair.

Only a power of similar level as hers could fully eliminate her. Honkai energy alone does not suffice; authority is needed.

As for how the Herrscher of the End “died” on the Moon, Kevin speculated it is related to the source of Honkai up above.

That power…” He muttered. “...it will destroy humanity.”

Kevin viewed his half-polluted mental power as a grave threat. The “black” portion did not just spell destruction; it is the end of all things.

Both honkai and humanity will disappear in the face of it. That is something Kevin does not wish to see.

Shi Tian could be a savior or harbinger of humanity’s doom.

Kevin shook his head. He resolved himself to complete the Project STIGMA. He could not entrust this fate to anyone else.

Although, it remains doubtful whether Kevin is still capable of doing such a thing as trusting others.

“It is time… to leave.”

Shi Tian’s confrontation with the Will of Honkai affected the Sea of Quanta to a large extent. The long streak of crimson flames could reach Kevin’s sight. Coupled with his 100,000 HW attack now…

Shatter-!

…the World Serpent’s cage broke down.

Chapter 153: The Tuna's Confidence

Erwin Reanna Schrodinger.

Once a student of Planck and a scientist of the North American branch of Schicksal, they soon rebelled after the events of Manhattan City. She is a good friend of Tesla, Einstein, and Welt Joyce.

While the three became responsible for managing Anti-Entropy—to which Schrodinger named herself—she was trapped inside the Sea of Quanta. Without any other viable options left, she chose to explore it.

For once, there was the special power used by Nancy Alva Thomas Edison. Her death is partly caused by it. That “power” is something outside the honkai. Schrodinger wanted to find out the truth behind Edison’s death, but to no avail.

That “power” beyond any human understanding could not be found elsewhere.

Schrodinger did end up finding a lot of other honkai-related secrets—something related to the Previous Era.

One day, she “sensed” the special signal of the Eye of the Deep go off. It allowed her to return to the real world.

When she did come back to the outside world, she learned a lot of changes occurred. Immortal cultivation, Welt Yang’s strength, and Anti-Entropy’s unprecedented unity shook her.

Finally, she was told that their friend needs her help. Schrodinger went back to the Sea of Quanta, and two days later, she managed to reach Kiana due to the sheer amount of ‘signal’ she was sending off. The Second Herrscher’s Authority came in handy at this moment.

“...The Second Herrscher. Tesla said that you are looking for someone?”

“Um. She is my friend. She has a Natural Stigma, and after something happened, it was triggered. The next moment, she went off to this place…”

Schrodinger caught the key points swiftly.

Natural Stigma. That meant a “special signal” within this vast Sea of Quanta. All Herrschers send off a unique signal due to their connection with the Imaginary Tree.

But…

There is no signal.’

The Sea of Quanta has no concept of direction and magnitude. Distance is disorderly. At one point, you might have stepped five meters to the front, only to find yourself fifty meters to the back of your origin.

It is this lack of order that made it easier to locate “signals”. This becomes invalid if the signal’s source is inside a Bubble World.

All they can use is the prior traces they left outside.

“That’s right! I also have another f…boyfriend looking for her.” Kiana explained. “Maybe he already found her…”

Schrodinger raised her eyebrows. She was surprised to see the “Second Herrscher” trust someone so much.

Kiana suddenly remembered her Herrscher Authority. She attempted to use it as a ‘radar’ for any ‘signals’ (i.e., anomalies). That includes the Sea of Quanta’s rejection…

“There..!”

A clear line presented itself in Kiana’s sight. The ‘disturbance’ caused by Shi Tian—both as a Herrscher and as a cultivator—is too big to not notice.

The two traveled through for some time. Schrodinger matched Kiana’s teleportation pace with her own. They ignored the surrounding bubble worlds and locked onto their destination.

An hour later, a strange bubble world was seen by the two.

Buzz-!

Schrodinger attempted to touch the bubble world’s membrane and felt a strong suction force. She hurriedly teleported away from it, causing her cloak to flutter.

“Such a complete bubble world… I am afraid it is part of the real world.”

“You mean… A part of the world slipped to the Sea of Quanta?”

“That’s the case.”

Schrodinger recalled the time when she met the ELFs. Their Bubble World, Mu Continent, used to be a huge landmass back in the Previous Era. It is the center of Earth’s technological advancements.

Due to the leftover technological devices and Mu Continent belonging on Earth, the ELFs’ bubble world survived for fifty one thousand years. The “Ether Anchor” keeping it safe from the Sea of Quanta’s erosion is strong.

It is completely unlike other bubble worlds that are only replicas of the real world. The status of real and a replica is vastly different inside the Sea of Quanta.

“...No. Doctor Einstein did not report any irregularities. Even if they did not notice, I should be able to notice it…”

“???”

Schrodinger had to do a double take on this Herrscher of the Void. Seeing her confused looks, Kiana explained:

“My eyes can monitor the entire Earth. I did a quick sweep before I went here.”

‘Immortal cultivation…’

She gained more understanding about the so-called immortal cultivation. It is an extremely absurd power system that turns ordinary humans into world-destroying masters!

“If that’s not the case…”

“That isn’t too important now.” Schrodinger interjected. “This bubble world should have both your friend and boyfriend. It has a strong suction force… and I don’t feel good about it.”

“Then, I will go inside first.”

“..?”

Under her surprised eyes, Kiana went ahead and allowed herself to be sucked inside. This completely overturned Schrodinger’s plans.

‘This girl is too reckless!’

Without a choice, she hurriedly chased Kiana.

Hum-!

Ripple-!

The barrier blocked her entry.

"...No. It's... quantum entanglement. A barrier made out of it. "

Schrodinger examined the "barrier" and found it to be impenetrable. Despite using her abilities, she could not enter as easily as Kiana.

"A criteria... a Herrscher?"

The strange turn of events left her without any words.

"Should I return first? The others should be able to help. But..."

Kiana’s actions seemed reckless in Schrodinger’s eyes, but for her, it is within her ‘normal’ tolerance to dangers. She saw not much use in analyzing things. The nature of this membrane far surpasses what they can do now.

Seeing the set of five hundred monsters appear around her, she went for the insta-kill.

Sou-!

Psshk-!

Sou-!

The 284 Qi Refining equivalents died instantly. The 200 Foundation Establishment equivalents used their corresponding abilities and barely got out alive. The 15 Purple Mansion equivalents sustained minimal damage.

Finally, the single entity with an authority comparable to a Herrscher’s deflected her subspace lance using a dozen layers of dark blue ice shields.

“So he is fighting this lot…”

Inheriting Shi Tian’s silence during battles, Kiana wordlessly flashed in front of the Golden Core equivalent in one go.

Fuzz-!

She was surprised to see the monster ‘freeze’ the surrounding temperatures to absolute zero.

Her physique remained unaffected by it.

‘This is just right!’

Expending a fraction of her mental power, she mobilized her Herrscher Core.

Buzz-!

Hum-!

BAM-!

In one go, the distorted gravitational field around her killed all the quantum monsters. Beyond their “abilities” that corresponded to the cultivators’ realm, their raw physical and mental attributes are horrendously low. They rightfully earned the title of “fake cultivators”.

Click-!

Hum-!

A huge cube appeared behind the remaining Golden Core monster. Gravity pushed it towards the cube, which was then counteracted by the monster’s ability to create ice constructs out of thin air.

With a little analysis, Kiana understood its abilities.

‘...Wait. Doesn’t it look similar to his..?’

Chapter 152: This Plot Seems Familiar...

I can still remember that day.

The late September of 2023.

A certain manga’s 236th chapter came out. The protagonist’s teacher is fighting a strong villain. Everyone is expecting the teacher to win. That changed when chapter 236 came out.

Pure disbelief is what many felt. People did not believe it when they saw the leaks.

The teacher got turned into a broken kit kat.

The moral of that story is:

Never let your guard down.

Buzz-!

Swoosh-!

A huge wave of dark blue liquid came crashing down towards me.

Zoom-!

With a step, I went towards the back of the wave… only to see another wave crashing down.

Zoom-!

Sou-!

Five steps later, I found myself in front of a huge skeletal giant.

For god knows what reason, this Tlaloc appeared inside this space!

Cling-!

Bzzt-!

I swung down my sword. A swathe of multicolored light flooded the skeletal giant.

The [Sword Light Refraction] is enough to deal with it.

Crunch-!

I bit down on the final peak third grade mind restorative pill I have. I did not have the time to appreciate its medicinal essence as I used the [Cloud Seeking Steps].

Behind, I saw another wave of monsters appear. A quick headcount reveals they are exactly five hundred.

Their appearances and abilities varied, but they possessed the same strength as the previous wave: 1 Golden Core, 15 Purple Mansion, 200 Foundation Establishment, and 284 Qi Refining.

After I finished off the first one, I thought it was over.

It is not.

Another wave of monsters emerged. It took a minute for them to come out of their frozen state. After that, they began barraging me with one attack after another. I had no choice but to finish them with a stronger attack. I thought it would destroy their resurrection mechanism.

It did not.

I decided to conserve my strengths since the third wave. I opted to use my Herrscher Authority and [Blade Mantra] to attack. That alleviated my spiritual qi consumption. In turn, my body and mind suffered more.

No matter which mode of attack I choose, I will consume mental power and physical strength. I emptied out my reserves of third grade mind restorative pills. Fortunately, I can use the demon beasts’ meat to restore my body’s consumption.

It was fine with immortal cultivation, but when I exhibited my Herrscher Authority, the next Golden Core equivalent copied my authority!

Fortunately, it lacked a lot of aspects when it copied my authority. The best it can reach is absolute zero.

With that, I used my Herrscher Authority more. My finer control defeated it every time.

This unending treatment took two days. I analyzed a lot about this space.

My combat capabilities dropped to 70%. I am always thinking of how to defeat them more efficiently.

This “crisis” turned out to be an opportunity to hone my combat skills. My enemies are always defeated with overwhelming force.

When I used my body to fight them, the digestion of the drugs (i.e., demon beast meat) became faster.

From that moment on, my physical body became a perpetual machine that fought monsters with nothing but a sword and physical force.

I need to act soon.

I can't just undergo a training arc while the situation everywhere else are unknown.

I am positive this extremely strange Bubble World is where Seele is. These unseen monsters, coupled with the power to continuously resurrect them, is not something shown within the game.

If not, there are only three beings capable of it.

Two of them, Kevin and Sa, have the lowest possible chances.

Kevin’s power is spent during the last 1,500 years inside the Bikini Bottom. His greatest strength lies in his ‘opportunity’ to activate Prometheus’ backdoor (Number 17) and steal a portion of the Cocoon’s power to kickstart the Project STIGMA.

That is why I let them steal Chiyou’s corpse. I did not intend to corner him too much, lest he might do something drastic—something far beyond my expectations.

It is a different matter for the Judgement of Shamash, however. He is destined not to get it… since it is inside my storage ring.

Giving away something does not mean I will give up everything.

As for Sa, she does not dare to cause too much trouble so long as Kevin and the Cocoon are there.

Then, there is only one option left.

The Sea of Quanta itself.

It is an entity on-par with the Imaginary Tree.

This is a far-fetched guess, but it is also the most reasonable one intuitively.

As to why Seele got kidnapped…

Wait a minute.

This reminds me of the yin-based sect plotline...

The sect’s elder (Sea of Quanta) kidnaps the female lead (Seele) with strong yin/ice/water talents. The protagonist is off to grow stronger until he manages to reunite with her…

I can’t carry on.

Treating myself like a protagonist and whatnot...

My narcissism is half-baked compared to Madam Herta’s.

Sou-!

All these idle thoughts are but a flash in a pan. My current brain and mental power is enough to finish hours’ worth of thoughts in a single second.

A final verdict came to my mind.

If I cannot find a way to break the deadlock, I will use the Judgement of Shamash’s maximum output. The only problem is my unfamiliarity.

If that still doesn’t work…

Burning my lifespan, it is.

*****

Kiana’s journey into the Sea of Quanta is not smooth. She reached Shi Tian’s previous position in less than two hours.

After that…

She found nothing.

Fortunately, Einstein handed her over a detection device. There are only 30% chances of it working as intended. The technology to observe the Sea of Quanta cannot be done without the use of a Herrscher Core.

Unfortunately, they had to give the Second Divine Key away to pacify the unstable factor, Otto.

Without a choice, Kiana went from one place to another. She saw interesting Bubble Worlds.

These worlds are “possibilities” that failed to be actualized, hence they fall from the Imaginary Tree to the Sea of Quanta.

For once, Kiana saw a Bubble World where everyone she knew is at school. Her aunt, Theresa, is the principal. Seele and Bronya are her classmates.

Shi Tian…

He is the foreign exchange student who came to the other class. His weak and sickly constitution did not diminish his handsomeness one bit.

He ended up becoming the boyfriend of Raiden Mei, the school’s most beautiful flower.

Kiana, who is the daughter of the yakuza’s head, planned to hog Shi Tian all to herself.

Then, the typical plot of a blackmailing + cheating plot occurred. She forced herself onto him in the stock room and…

You don’t want Mei-san to know about this, right?

“NO! That is definitely not me!”

Kiana flew away in rage and embarrassment. The 18+ things they did overlapped with Kiana’s wet dreams. The image of his thing flashed every now and then.

The Sea of Quanta is responsible for an accurate 1:1 replication of real things. It was bigger compared to what she imagined!

In an attempt to distract herself, she put her thoughts on the “plot”.

Kiana knew who Raiden Mei was. She is the girl whom Shi Tian saved a month ago. That was the time she got threatened the most.

Without being a cultivator, Raiden Mei’s beauty is top-notch. Even Kiana acknowledged her beauty.

Now that she started cultivating a month ago, Kiana thanked her smart self for taking action early.

No matter how beautiful Mei becomes, Shi Tian will always be hers!

“Huh..? This?!”

In the middle of her journey, Kiana came across another Bubble World. It is the same plot as before. Shi Tian ended up with Seele this time. Then, Kiana comes to snatch him away with great force.

Every Bubble World has nearly the same plot.

A Bubble World with him and Sin Mal…

‘That snarky girl likes him..?!’

A Bubble World with him and Raiden Mei…

‘Again..?!’

A Bubble World with him and Fu Hua…

‘How did she..!’

A Bubble World with him and Aunt Theresa..?!?!

“He is uber into big breasts!”

Kiana refused the possibility of the last part… until she saw a grown-up version of Theresa. It was a far cry from her elementary-schooler self. Her weapons are as big as the Oath of Judas she carried on her back.

Then, the Bubble World with Bronya stumped Kiana the most.

The most incredulous thing was Bronya’s grown-up self.

Kiana’s mouth went agape when she saw her extremely curvy figure. Her waist-to-hip proportion is godly. Her office pants highlighted her curvy butt. Her twin weapons of destruction felt like it was about to pop out of her buttoned-up long sleeves.

‘Is she still the same Bronya I know?!’

Kiana’s mind stopped working.

‘The reason why she isn’t growing up…’

Turns out, her greatest (potential) enemy lies hidden in plain sight!

Fortunately, the Tuna acted fast. She patted her chest out of relief. She moved away to the next Bubble World.

Just when she saw one with him and Himeko on it, Kiana saw a woman appear out of nowhere. Her vigilance was heightened until she recognized who she was.

“Miss Schrodinger?”

“..!”

“Doctor Tesla and Doctor Einstein told me about you!”

Like a pie in the sky, the “helper” Kiana was looking for finally appeared.

A/N: For Theresa’s grown up reference, look up her “Lunar Vow” battlesuit. You’ll see where I am getting at ;)

Chapter 151: Your Foundation is Unstable, Fellow Daoist

Three days.

I only took short breaks in-between. I did not care about the Bubble Worlds, either. The causal lines I traced are enough to serve as my lead.

Fortunately, my [Two Phase Art] saved me in two ways. The conversion between the Sea of Quanta’s energy and spiritual qi can create low third grade spirit veins in an instant. If I wait for five minutes, it turns into high third grade.

Next is the existence of peak second grade pills. It is born out of the conversion ability from the [Two Phase Art]’s [Small Accomplishment] mastery. As a result, Earth’s plants that evolved from honkai energy turned into second grade spiritual plants with varying grades.

Although no third grade spiritual plants are found, it is more than enough to mass produce second grade spiritual pills.

Taking a peak second-grade qi recovery pill only recovers a small percentage of a late Purple Mansion Realm’s spiritual qi. Nonetheless, taking a dozen of them can shorten my recovery duration from fifteen minutes to ten minutes.

Given I needed to recover every two hours every day, that is 144 peak second grade pills a day. It is unrealistic to have enough pills, so I can only shorten my recovery periods at select times—the times when I found an important clue.

The most important one came from my continued usage of [Encompassing Eyes]. I discovered there is a “special karma” between Seele and I. After some examination, it came from the [Xiutian Art].

Out of all the techniques I saw, it remains to be the most broken one. I thought it would solely major in the Dao of Yin and Yang, but I was mistaken. Beneath it lies the Dao of Five Elements. Further down is the Dao of Causality.

Since I am connected with Seele, I can use this connection to locate her.

After this recovery session, I might be able to see her.

I did not worry much. I sensed the sharp increase of her body, qi, and mental cultivation through the [Xiutian Art]. The ‘experience potions’ she gave to me are all at the Purple Mansion Realm.

Her body is at the peak of Foundation Establishment. That much is fine. But, for her mind to also reach the Purple Mansion Realm, that means she crossed over from the middle of Foundation Establishment. That was two minor realms and a major realm.

Even now, her qi cultivation is soaring too. The changes made me dumbfounded at the way Seele hacked through immortal cultivation.

Honkai, I am still unfamiliar with your game.

Ten minutes later, I started moving again. I canceled the [Two Phase Art] within my duration and flew to Seele’s direction.

Except for the occasional collapsing Bubble Worlds, I haven’t seen a thing.

Things remained like that until my spiritual consciousness saw a certain Bubble World. It is spherical in shape, about the surface area of a city.

I would have gone past it if it wasn’t for the causal lines in my sight. All of them headed towards it.

Sou-!

My figure flickered before reappearing in front of it.

Unlike most Bubble Worlds, a thick blue membrane is wrapped around it. This prevents the scenes inside the Bubble World to be seen outside. This aspect alone shows how strong this Bubble World is. Only those with strong Ether Anchors can form such a barrier.

Unhesitantly, I used my [Cloud Seeking Steps] to cross this barrier. I managed to do so, but in the next moment…

Hum-!

BUZZ-!

A sharp sound came to my ears. I could not help but wince. It is a mental attack..!

I ‘opened’ my eyes. My spiritual consciousness spread out.

There, I saw the endless dark blue sea. The surface I am stepping on has the ripples and consistency of water, yet it is solid enough to be able to stand on.

A verdict came to my mind:

I did not step inside the Bubble World!

This space did not give me any breathing time. Strange monsters began to rise up from the dark blue surface. Some of them looked like honkai beasts. Some of them possessed humanoid figures.

Heck, there is even a dragon-like silhouette present.

{Overall Strength: Peak Qi Refining}

{Overall Strength: Peak Qi Refining}

{Overall Strength: Early Foundation Establishment}

Hundreds of such monsters rose up. Qi Refining Realm made up the majority of them. But then, I was surprised to see dozens of Foundation Establishment equivalents. Each one is on-par with fully-armed A Rank and S Rank Valkyries.

When I saw one or two Purple Mansion Realms (Fake), my gaze turned serious.

Their numbers did not stop increasing. I held back my will to destroy them all.

Finally…

{Overall Strength: Early Golden Core (Fake)}

Someone possessing a Herrscher’s Full Unawakened Authority appeared. The “fake” label meant they are akin to Herrschers with strong attack power and low durability. It is a humanoid figure holding a dark blue greatsword.

Five hundred quantum shadows.

One fake Golden Core, fifteen fake Purple Mansion Realms, two hundred Foundation Establishment Realms, and 284 Qi Refining Realms.

I have so many questions to ask, but this is not the time for it.

Hum-!

The [Beginningless Sword]’s grip rested in my right hand.

Sou-!

One swing entailed the use of [Blade Eminence]. The Qi Refining Realm quantum shadows rushing towards me disintegrated into pieces. The Foundation Establishment ones withstood the attack, but they are not unharmed.

Bzzt-!

I tilted my head. An extremely fast dark blue projectile brushed past my cheek. With a swing of my blade, another [Blade Eminence] was sent out.

Buzz-!

Bam-!

Not a single bit of my spiritual qi was spent. [Blade Mantra] consumes honkai energy… and its supply is infinite with the [True Form] stage. [Blade Eminence]’s consumption made it suitable as an AoE attack for weaker enemies.

My current strength and recovery allows the usage of it like a basic attack. Although it is weaker than usual, I can spam it endlessly.

Bam-!

Sou-!

The weaker mobs soon fell under my blade. No matter how much they tried to rush over, they are deleted by [Blade Eminence]. Their final outcome is to dissolve into the dark blue surface.

Using [Cloud Seeking Steps], my figure flashed back and forth several places. I did not fly and used my sheer speed to blitz through their numbers.

Sou-!

A multi-colored light swept through the remaining injured Foundation Establishment Realm monsters. No matter how huge or small their bodies are, they did not last a second.

This [Sword Light Refraction] only consumed a tenth of my spiritual qi—the weaker version of the weaker version.

Buzz-!

Crack-!

While I am busy massacring the weaker ones, the stronger ones did not stop attacking.

The Golden Core monster’s attack created cracking sounds, followed by the surge of dark blue flames.

It did not take long until only the Purple Mansion Realms and the Golden Core Realm monster were left. Their attacks are annoying to dodge, but I am fast enough to dodge them. The [Cloud Seeking Steps] is a godly technique for it.

I looked at my reserves. My [Encompassing Eyes] instantly fed back a numerical percentage.

{Spiritual Qi: 54%}

Half of my spiritual qi…

I took out a jade bottle from my storage ring. I unpopped its cork and took out a light blue pill from it.

Crunch-!

The medicinal essences started to kick in. The spiritual qi stored within my dantian began to increase once more.

Soon, my spiritual qi went back to its fullest state. Only six of these late third grade qi restorative pills are left in my pocket.

Still, it is worth it.

A pill for five hundred strong monsters. Too bad, they are glass cannons. Possessing a strong authority yet being unable to withstand a single hit from me…

They are akin to cultivators with unstable foundations.

Looking at the remaining monsters, a film of multi-colored light appeared atop my blade.

How much can these fake cultivators withstand?

It is time to find out.

Chapter 150: A False World; Second-Rate Kidnapping

Ring-!

“Hum…”

Kiana groggily opened her eyes. She found herself sleeping in their late third grade deluxe bed.

A wave of shame came crashing down on her.

“..!”

Right after kicking Shi Tian out, she could not calm down. The contents of her wild dream and their actual experience severely disrupted her mind.

Kiana is no longer the same clueless paramecium. She has the knowledge base of a college graduate. She learned a lot of eye-opening things in her biology courses.

Later on, fueled by her inner demons and curiosity, she played with it for the first time.

The physique of a Purple Mansion Realm far exceeds human durability. She managed to do it for three days and nights before she snapped out of it. The bed’s surface got soaked up with her fluids. Her brain went wild imagining all sorts of things with Shi Tian.

Kiana knew his rough size when she felt it with her thigh. That reference made her crazy during these three days.

In an attempt to clear her mind, Kiana went to a cultivation session. Another two nights’ worth of sleep passed until she woke up now. Although it was no longer as rampant as before, that desire still existed.

“Am I… a pervert..?”

Her face heated up. She knew she could no longer stay in this cursed bed.

With a snap, she returned back to their room within the orphanage.

To her surprise, Bronya is sitting atop Shi Tian’s bed. She gave Kiana a surprised look before she regained her composure.

“Subject Kiana. The Bronya is waiting for you.”

“Bronya..?”

“Seele went missing five days ago. Shi Tian went and followed her traces. Up to now, there have been no updates from the two.”

“..!”

Kiana’s mind instantly locked in onto that matter. Her face tinged with red turned serious.

Bronya paid it no heed and continued explaining:

“The Sovereign, Doctor Tesla, and Doctor Einstein locked onto Shi Tian’s traces two days ago. The Bronya urges Kiana to find them as soon as possible.”

“Okay!”

Without any time to lose, Kiana teleported straight into the Salt Lake Base. She met up with the two doctors and heard more detailed things from them.

“The Sea of Quanta is a ‘dimension’ with unquantifiable distance. You need an anchor to create an artificial sense of direction…”

Einstein explained everything patiently.

“We don’t know why, but Shi Tian has a ‘presence’ strong enough to cause disruptions within that place. Think of it as a meteorite landing on the sea. Its shockwaves will be visible in the naked eye.”

Tesla then followed suit with her explanation:

“We have a friend travelling the Sea of Quanta. You can go and meet her. She knows more things about it than us.”

“...Thank you.”

After giving the standard fist cupping and bow, Kiana’s figure left. It did not take her long to arrive at the underwater base.

‘Anchor… I need to copy this instrument’s anchor to step in his starting point…’

*****

Seele hasn’t finished exploring this “Bubble World” despite her swift flight speed. Her other self guided her through this process. Unfortunately, this “Bubble World” is extremely unique.

{“There’s nothing about it in the database…”}

“What does it mean..?”

{“Normal Bubble Worlds have varying sizes. The larger it is, the faster it collapses. There are a few exceptions, but this is the case in most Bubble Worlds.”}

“Then, can I find my way back once this place… disappears?”

{“...I don’t know.”}

“...”

The Sea of Quanta is as disordered as the imaginary space. The ordinary rules within the ‘real dimension’ do not necessarily apply to them. The Sea of Quanta is even more disorderly than the imaginary space. Directions and magnitude always change in this place.

Meaning, Seele gets lost the moment she steps out of this Bubble World. Whether or not it breaks down, she will remain stuck inside the Sea of Quanta.

“How about cultivation?”

{“This…”}

Seele knows about the realms above the Foundation Establishment Realm. The Purple Mansion Realm talks about ‘understanding’ the dao rhymes—she could do that. Add her very strong mental power, there is no doubt her mental cultivation is at the Purple Mansion Realm.

The same goes to her body cultivation. Wisps of dao rhymes are continuously generated from it. Her water-based body cultivation technique, [Hanhai Heaven Tempering Art], grants Seele the ability to exponentially increase her physical strength. Since it is the technique’s sole function, without any auxiliary effects on cultivation, she can go from the early stage to the peak stage for a minute or two.

It is why Seele felt more secure despite being lost—she became stronger than before.

“Hum..? Why…”

Just then, she noticed a drastic change in her qi cultivation technique. She found a mysterious space inside her dantian.

The [Tianshui Falling Art]’s contents came to her mind.

“...[Small Accomplishment] enables a mysterious space that allows the unlimited simulation of techniques and spells…”

Everyone’s qi cultivation technique overlaps in effect. Kiana’s boost her learning progress in technique masteries by mastering techniques. Seele’s does the same. The subtle difference between the two, however, lies in the ‘bonuses’ of their cultivation environment.

As a void-related technique, Kiana makes more progress in qi cultivation while practicing in the ‘void’. Seele, on the other hand, sees more progress while practicing in the ‘sea’.

It is for such a reason she goes off to the Sea of Okhotsk to practice. A small section of it has a spirit vein of the low third grade.

When Seele tried to enter a meditative state, it only took her a second to do so. Her progress is also extremely fast. The low third grade spirit vein she created around her got most of its spiritual qi absorbed by her.

She easily reached her consumption limits, just like Kiana.

However, it did not end there.

Hum-!

Buzz-!

An invisible presence swept through her unnoticeably. Something had seemingly broken Seele’s limits. She no longer became constrained by the “Plus One Law”. Her absorption and growth rate grew until she matched the limits of an early Golden Core possessing high grade spirit roots.

A steady progress was made from her early Foundation Establishment qi cultivation.

Simultaneously, the grade of the spirit vein grew. It only stopped when it reached the concentration of the peak fourth grade.

Soon, Seele fell into a trance.

{“...”}

Her other self could not believe what happened. Seele’s decision to test immortal cultivation’s methods worked wonders.

Only, she saw something strange from it. The presence that descended in this place is extremely vast. If Sirin sensed it, she would be surprised to see it far surpass the likes of the Honkai God.

{“That presence was…”}

An intuitive feeling pointed out to one thing:

The Sea of Quanta.

Chapter 149: Love Disease?

There are a few ways to find Seele.

The countless strings extending towards the horizon is one such example. The Dao of Causality can peer through fate and time itself, much less a person’s location.

It’s just that I am too weak to use it. Appraisal and location-finding are but superficial ways of the Dao of Causality. Its horrifying aspects include killing someone’s past self, resulting in the death of their present. There’s also the prediction of the future and inheriting a person’s karma, thereby possessing their identity and power.

The quadruple enhancement I received earlier consumes far less than using the Dao of Causality alone. The same applies to all the other “complex” Daos I have.

Hum-!

[True Form]’s active state is opened up immediately. My mental cultivation began to rise out of nowhere. The surrounding space’s rejection grew stronger.

The increase did not stop until I reached the so-called half-step Golden Core Realm. [True Form]’s enhancement depended on one’s current realm; a percentage increase, per se.

It is why I could not break through to the next level. It no longer depended on the cultivation realm like the prior realms, but something else.

My current mental cultivation allowed my eyes to see more strings. All of them connected me to Seele.

With it as a guide, my travels to the Sea of Quanta began.

*****

Seele’s mental state did not notice her changes. It was as if her inner demons came back, but this time, it truly happened. It took three days for her to snap out.

“Where… Where am I?”

Nobody answered her question. She had no choice but to explore her current surroundings.

It is a ruined city. Piles of rubble lay silent. No traces of humans could be seen anywhere, as if they had been turned into dust. The moonlight from the night sky illuminated the way around.

“Other me?”

{“...”}

Once again, Seele received no response. She was forced to take in everything that happened to her.

“After I…”

Recalling that painful realization now, Seele felt like she overreacted. Kiana’s aura sticking closely to Shi Tian could mean a lot of things. It does not automatically equate to them being lovers.

Still, that notion alone sends a knife deeply into Seele’s heart.

When it truly comes to it, can she do everything to fight for Shi Tian’s affection?

‘…’

Her thoughts were interrupted by the whirring of helicopter blades. Several aircrafts littered the airspace of the broken city.

Tap.

Rustle-!

A dozen men came down from it. They stepped onto the broken main road five hundred meters away from Seele.

She was ready to talk with them when her ears caught something.

Swoosh-!

Sou-!

BANG-!

The supersonic missiles only took a second to travel to Seele’s location.

Three seconds later, smoke cleared up. Her spiritual consciousness barrier can physically interact with objects. It is easy to prevent a missile’s explosion.

“Ah..?!”

That was when she noticed something. Her mind became increasingly strong. Wisps of colored lights appeared in her eyes. Whenever she looked at one of them, she understood them as fire, space, and water.

The dao rhymes presented themselves in her eyes, a feat reserved for Purple Mansion Realm cultivators.

Without realizing it, her mental cultivation jumped straight to the early Purple Mansion Realm!

Sou-!

BANG-!

Another round of salvos disrupted Seele’s shock. She does not know why everyone is hostile around her.

With each explosion came the consumption of her mind. Her recovery caught up to it.

The combat ability she honed after three days of fighting showed itself.

A quick scan around her showed humans operating the choppers and fighter jets. She also found out that the group that landed before all had varying strengths, all of which are within the early Qi Refining Realm.

Out of them all, she found someone possessing the power of the Qi Refining Realm. The others are far behind the early Qi Refining Realm whose body is tempered by the Jian.

No traces of the honkai appeared on others. The strongest one, a white-haired man, skillfully held a rifle in his hands.

The moment she scanned him, his gaze swiftly went towards her direction.

“..!”

Chills went down her spine.

The first thing she did was to ‘disable’ the aircrafts’ weapon systems. No matter how the pilots clicked, they could no longer launch attacks towards Seele.

Then, she knocked down the special team using her spiritual consciousness. Her [Scythe Heart] acted as a weapon that disabled everyone’s minds.

A wave of hectic communication attempts came from somewhere. They tried to contact the unconscious warriors, but to no avail.

Seele escaped after that. She concealed herself and flew towards the other cities. Two days passed swiftly.

There, she learned that this place is Earth… but without anything she was familiar with.

The geographic locations remained identical. What changed is the language and letters they used. The slavic of this Earth, for instance, has several foreign accents and words.

“Where did I go..?”

As if her love crisis wasn’t enough, this unfamiliar world was also added into the mix. Seele’s ability to hold herself together leveled up due to this ordeal alone.

{“This is not a new world.”}

“Ah?!?!”

{“Quit your stupid look. It hurts my eyes. After seeing your pathetic side, nobody can go lower than you.”}

“...”

{“You have a lot of options. Didn’t some princesses use seduction to steal away a prince?!”}

Seele’s other self saw everything she had read. That includes the corny romantic stories up to those questionable ones. Seele stopped reading the first chapter of the latter when she saw what it truly was.

{“At worst, we can find a way to steal him from Sister Kiana. Friendship or love. You can’t have both.”}

Hearing her other self speak, Seele was relieved. But then, her words sparked something from her.

“...I will do it.” She suddenly said. “I will confess my love to him once I return.”

{“Congratulations.”}

Seele’s other self could only sigh. Seele’s head is filled up with nothing but Shi Tian now. Her unexpected breakdown showed how attached she was to him—to be on the borderline of obsession.

After all, who asked for Shi Tian to be an outstanding person?

If that wasn’t the case, then why would she also…

{“You set up a death flag for yourself.”}

“..?!”

A blush appeared on Seele’s face. She had read dozens of cliched romance stories that ended in tragedy, yet she unknowingly planted a flag of her own!

{“Love blinds your eyes. You still need me.”}

“...What do you think of him?”

One question silenced Veliona.

Upon not receiving any responses for a minute, an outrageous thought emerged from her mind.

‘Does she like him too..?’

Chapter 148: Onwards, To The Bikini Bottom

Bronya is conflicted.

Shi Tian managed to come up with an “answer” within a month. He had already accepted Kiana as his “girlfriend”. Such a response shocked Bronya, though it wasn’t too far from expectations.

Needless to say, Shi Tian wanted to properly “reject” Seele.

Bronya was against this at first. She had a good talk with Shi Tian the moment she heard it.

“The Bronya disagrees. You can choose both Seele and Kiana.”

“...Kuk..!”

He choked on his drinks. He looked over to the serious Bronya.

“Where did this suggestion come from..?” He asked.

I came across numerous men with multiple women. They are treated as playthings to feel pleasure. You are a hundred times better than them.”

Facing the silver-haired loli who advocated for the harem route, Shi Tian decisively rejected it. The thought of wanting one did pass his mind, but a lot of things stopped him from doing so.

Kiana’s possessiveness and his beliefs are the biggest reason.

“No. I can’t do it.”

“...”

Just like that, although it was “painful”, Bronya helped Shi Tian find the perfect opportunity to reject Seele. That was the second best answer they could come up with.

Bronya will be responsible for setting up the ideal scenario. Shi Tian will carry it out. That was the plan…

Buzz-!

…until now.

A second later, Bronya reappeared inside their room. The strong spatial distortions did not escape her eyes.

“Seele..?”

A quick sweep of her spiritual consciousness revealed no one inside. The next second, Shi Tian appeared beside her.

“Did you see…”

“Nyet.”

He looked around for a while and ‘saw’ the familiar light-blue distortions. It appeared when Su transported him from the Sea of Quanta to the real world.

One girl immediately came to his mind.

“...It’s Seele.”

“Please elaborate.” Bronya replied.

“She has a Natural Stigma. I told you about this before.”

“Da.”

“Once activated to its fullest extent, it can recreate matter itself.”

Seele’s Natural Stigma is a result of both a Herrscher Authority and the Sea of Quanta’s favoritism.

Mobius pushed for the creation of a man-made Natural Stigma. It came from the Herrscher Stigma of the Previous Era’s Sixth Herrscher.

It is made to contain the Sixth Herrscher’s Authority. Later on, the Natural Stigma, along with its Stigma Space, was thrown off to the Sea of Quanta for it to survive the Final Herrscher’s attack on Earth.

It was successfully kept within the Sea of Quanta for fifty thousand years. During that time, it mutated to suit the Sea of Quanta’s characteristics. As such, the Natural Stigma was no longer limited to the authority over biological life and death. Matter can be created by harnessing the Sea’s power.

Such a strong ability needs to be handled by a strong body, lest it will collapse.

‘Foundation Establishment is the equivalent of S Rank Valkyries. There’s no reason for Seele’s body to collapse like before…’

In the game, Seele was forcefully pulled into the Sea of Quanta due to her physical body’s collapse. Had she not been pulled into the Sea, only death awaited her.

It serves to reason that the peak Foundation Establishment physical body suffices.

‘...unless the Sea itself is attracted to her..!’ He recalled several dangerous entities. ‘Kevin..!’

Shi Tian acted quickly.

“Call me if Kiana returns. I will head to Mister Yang.”

“Understood.”

The two immediately fulfilled their due responsibilities.

*****

Damn it.

Sea of Quanta…

I need Kiana to deal with it. The problem is, she shut herself inside the imaginary space. There are usually manual passageways to enter even without consent. It’s just that she can lock it as long as she wants.

The chaotic mess we made yesterday came back to bite me.

I went to the next best option—The Deep. I contacted Tesla and explained what happened with Seele. She went on hold for a while.

Buzz-!

A voice came from the intercoms in my right ear.

“I gave you the relevant authority. You can remotely activate it now.”

“Thanks, Doctor Tesla.”

“What happened with you and Kiana? She should be able to enter the Sea of Quanta…”

“Some things happened.”

“Don’t tell me…”

That judgemental stare seeped through my earphones.

“That’s not it. It’s hard to explain.”

“...You will be on your own once you enter the Sea. Communication devices will stop working once you are inside the Sea.”

“Got it. I know the relevant knowledge about it.”

“I will inform Welt and Einstein about this. I have a feeling this is a big problem…”

It is.

Seele going straight into the Sea of Quanta is one of the worst possibilities to happen. There is a huge chance Kevin might encounter her. I don’t know about Sa and her bunch of tarot club underlings… but there’s a chance I will face them too.

I am partly to blame.

I kept waiting for Seele to confess. That way, her rejection will be lighter. I pushed her to this state..!

Zoom-!

Splash-!

My flight did not stop once I entered the ocean. Aside from the shockwave I caused, I can breathe as usual. I didn’t get wet, either. Using spiritual consciousness to reject ordinary water is a simple trick.

It did not take five minutes to arrive in Anti-Entropy’s underwater base. My figure teleported to the inside of the glass dome.

Several human staff members saw my arrival. They did not react drastically to my appearance.

My figure kept on teleporting until I reached the strange ‘monolith-esque’ structure. It has a mix of steel and stone, with a bunch of lines running on their bodies. A sleek control pad could be seen attached to it. The language it uses is foreign to me. It is like the Latin alphabet, but much more complex.

My spiritual consciousness infiltrated it. Then, according to Tesla’s instructions, I began to flick some switches within its control pad.

Two minutes later, it worked.

Hum-!

Buzz-!

The familiar pillar of dark blue light emerged from the Eye of the Deep. It is essentially a pathway to the Sea of Quanta. I timed it to close after ten seconds, lest I want some strange quantum monsters to invade.

Sou-!

I did not hesitate to rush towards it.

The environment changed to nothing but dark blue once I got inside. The familiar sense of rejection appeared. It is very evident the Sea does not want me.

Nonetheless, I resisted this subtle rejection.

Bam-!

I looked back and saw a huge marble door close. It only appeared after I entered.

The Sea of Quanta’s randomness works exactly like this.

Hum-!

Numerous new sights appeared in my vision. Some of them are schools, cafeterias, forests, and oases…

Without a stable Ether Anchor, Bubble Worlds fall to the Sea of Quanta before disintegrating into nothingness.

As expected, some of the Bubble Worlds I saw with my spiritual consciousness are on the verge of collapse. Some that did not have any Ether Anchors were destroyed within a minute or two.

Now…

How should I look for Seele?

Chapter 147: Loser's Breakdown

The Fire MOTH of the Previous Era left numerous legacies. Among them are dozens of shelters hidden as pseudo Bubble Worlds. They possess the power of the Sea of Quanta but exist within the physical world. Its best function is to become a shield against imaginary energy—the attack unleashed by the Herrscher of the End is one such example.

It is the reason why some of the shelters survived from the Previous Era.

One of the shelters housed the World Serpent’s HQ. It is located beneath the oceanic plates of the pacific ocean. The strong honkai emission from the ocean alone conceals most traces.

They were able to go under Schicksal’s radar for so long purely because of it. Another part is them not choosing to do major actions until one month ago.

Today, the corpse of the judgement-class honkai beast Chiyou was brought inside. Gray Serpent made this decision after witnessing one surprise after another.

Welt Yang’s improved strength is but one of them. He still hasn’t forgotten about Shi Tian who managed to deal with the ELF Kevin within a minute or two. It possessed nearly ten percent of his true power.

As for whether there is something wrong with Chiyou’s corpse, Gray Serpent has no choice. It is an open scheme. They hadn’t encountered any attack within a month. It is either they take the corpse or not at all.

Given Kevin’s diminished strength, he needed Chiyou’s corpse to recover the majority of it.

Nonetheless, the World Serpent has someone they can rely on.

“It is done.”

The white-haired woman’s soft voice resounded in the empty room. The level of honkai emission coming from her is enough to constitute a strong minor eruption. She will kill everyone around her—mortals and Valkyries alike.

Gray Serpent remained unaffected due to his mechanical body.

With a nod, the woman, Misteln Schariac, left. She returned back to her living space—a subspace within the imaginary space. It is extremely similar to a stigma space she can manipulate at will.

Immediately, a scene was recreated.

She was called by Gray Serpent to deal with any mind-based powers inside Chiyou’s corpse. Misteln agreed and faced someone within it:

Shi Tian.

His flat expression mirrored hers. His blue cape fluttered as he pointed his finger towards her. A stream of multi-colored light attempted to come at her, only to be halted at the last second.

Everything is ultimately a replay of what she faced. Misteln used her overwhelming power to erase Shi Tian’s mental imprint in one go. Now, she wanted to review it.

The multi-colored light began to break down into smaller single-colored strings.

Blue, red, green, violet, indigo, orange, red…

To her surprise, no matter how much she cut things out, a new “color” emerged. It was simply endless. When all the primary colors appeared, the secondary colors did. Then the tertiary, followed by the quarterly colors…

Misteln was only able to simulate up to the eighth order before the replay dissipated. No matter what she does, she could not simulate the true weight of the Dao Shi Tian displayed.

Recalling Gray Serpent’s words as well as a certain Flamechaser's experience, Misteln made a conclusion.

“Coming from another world…”

*****

Elysian Realm.

It is essentially a special space constructed with the help of a certain magician’s technology. The heroes of the Previous Era, the Flamechasers, stored their ‘memories’ and ‘selves’ inside this space, intending to use it to pass down knowledge and ideals to the next generation.

To the World Serpent, it is a heritage space that tests one’s strength and mentality. Each Flamechaser has a space of their own, and it is up to them to give the trial takers/trainees the said trials and rewards.

Now, a Flamechaser is questioning Gray Serpent. Her short stature did not tone down her chilling aura.

“...Where did this come from?”

“It is a sample acquired during one…”

He narrated the events honestly because of one reason: she is his creator.

The genius from the Previous Era, Mobius, created a sentient biological life known as “Gray Serpent”. Any attempts to replicate his creation ended in failure. As such, he is one-of-a-kind in Mobius’ eyes.

During the past two months, she did nothing but to “test” the samples she received from Gray Serpent. The latter took the initiative to send it to her. Not even Jackal was able to decipher its secrets.

‘A girl from the outside world? That shouldn’t be the case…’

Mobius was confused by the sample’s origins. It came from Seele and Bronya. One of them was tested to have a Natural Stigma while the other has none at all. Both of them showed exceptionally high honkai adaptability.

From there, it was easy to deduce that the invisible “foreign substance” within them is correlated to honkai adaptability. It is also tied to the “superhuman strength” comparable to the MANTIS of the Previous Era—super soldiers genetically enhanced with honkai beasts’ genes.

It is easy to be engrossed with the possibilities this new “substance” offered.

‘If we had this before…’

Unfortunately, it is destined to be nothing but an idea.

“Get me in touch with him.”

“I am afraid…”

“Stop acting. Just send one of your avatars over.”

“...Understood.”

*****

{“Did you see it?”}

“...”
{“You did.”}

Seele fell silent. The reason for her earlier daze lay in Shi Tian—to be exact, the hickeys that partially showed up on his shirt’s sleeves.

His casual clothes are made of early second grade fabric. Moreover, it will take an instant for Shi Tian to notice someone “peeking” straight to his clothes.

Unfortunately for him, Seele managed to notice it with her eyesight alone.

He also let his guard down and did not erase the traces after being suddenly kicked out. His mind is still in a mess at that time, thus overlooking several mistakes.

These ended up turning Seele’s mind in a mess.

She wasn’t dumb. He and Kiana became closer during the past month. Though they do not act intimate, the fact they could understand each other by gazing alone explains a lot.

Seele still had some hope… until she saw him today. It wasn’t noticeable much, but when she came closer, she sensed Kiana’s unique presence. It was something that couldn’t be removed by any cleansing spell. It requires a breath-removal spell that specially hides cultivators’ auras.

That could only mean he is with Kiana.

Seele recalled the romance books she read.

Holding hands in the sunset.

Sitting together in a swing.

Laying the head on one’s shoulders.

Eating together.

Confessing love.

Hugging and kissing.

Kiana did everything she wanted to do with Shi Tian.

She lost.

Before she knew it, Seele locked herself inside a treasure chest. It is her previous place of comfort. She used to lock herself up whenever she wanted some peace. Ultimately, it is a part of her cowardly nature.

Her former determination was gone. Replacing it is a plethora of doubts.

‘Can I do it? Steal him from Sister Kiana?’

‘Will he look at me?’

‘He never saw me as a partner…’

‘I can’t do anything.’

“Hick… I… I…”

Seele let out the worst cry of her life.

She can no longer form any coherent sentences. Not even her other self attempted to interrupt it.

Just then…

{“..!”}

Seele’s other self felt a strange resonance. The extreme burst of emotions of a Foundation Establishment cultivator manifests externally. Yet, there wasn’t any sign of it.

All of them poured onto Seele’s stigma space instead.

Rumble-!

Her other self felt the changes clearly. The rampant mental power broke the Natural Stigma’s “locks” one after another. It allowed Seele to access the stigma’s full power—matter reconstruction.

{“Stop—!”}

The next moment, Seele disappeared from the face of the Earth.

Chapter 146: Broke, No More

Kiana kicked me out.

I don’t know how to face her after everything. None of us expected things to get… dicey. I would rather fight Golden Core monsters than face this kind of trouble.

Fortunately, my sense of control is strong enough. At least, doing that needs the consent of both parties. Kiana doesn’t seem to be ready for it, either.

I began to distract myself away from this matter. I stepped out of the orphanage and began to daze off.

In actuality, my mind focused on the events of the past month.

Nothing eventful happened. The World Serpent laid low, and so did Schicksal. It gave Anti-Entropy the breathing time they needed when Welt Yang re-centralized most of the authority to himself. Now, his status as the Sovereign is the highest.

The moment he revealed his identity and showed his overwhelming strength, dozens of secret laboratories and illegal sub-organizations were taken out. It is all thanks to the stronger Salt Lake troops. The first grade spirit vein did wonders to improve their physical performance—their reaction times, to be more specific. That was the most important component in piloting a Titan.

With both the intelligence (from Kiana’s scouting) and power, Anti-Entropy went from a loose sand castle to a somewhat acceptable stone fortress. It is far incomparable to Schicksal in influence, with only the North American continent siding with them. Still, it is better than nothing.

Then came the findings with Einstein’s study in “Honkai’s Proportionality Law”. The study is done in ten separate batches, with a month or so of interval. Each time, the number of troops affected by the first grade spirit vein increased.

For more than two thousand troops, the Honkai Differential Index (i.e., rate of honkai’s increase) became as high as 5%. Simply put, all honkai eruptions and honkai energy emissions became 5% stronger than the previous one.

Such a scary increase immediately caused Einstein to halt the experiments.

The H.D.I. for one thousand, eight hundred, five hundred, and one hundred troops are at 2%, 1.3%, 1%, and 0.1%, respectively.

In the end, the entire project was limited to one hundred elite troops. A 0.1% increase on a monthly basis is deemed acceptable.

That was until I asked Einstein to take into account the ninety or so orphans I taught immortal cultivation. The results are shocking: a 2% monthly increase. This amounts to a 20% increase in ten months. It is the price to pay after getting the Dao of Enlightenment.

The original schedule of 2017 might be brought forward up to 2016, or worse, 2015.

The saving grace is the kids’ progress being slow enough, lest that increase would have become more exaggerated. That 2% might reach 3% within the next year, nonetheless.

Given the current resources, the ones with middle grade spirit roots can finish the Qi Refining Realm in two years. They can easily break through the Foundation Establishment Realm with little preparations.

These are seventeen individuals capable of contending against a Herrscher—S Rank Valkyries, per se. Coupled with the possible improvements of us high grade spirit roots during those two years, the future looks promising.

Of course, I won’t let them fight without any preparations. I will ask them whether or not they are willing, too. From now, however, choosing whom to awaken as an immortal cultivator becomes stricter. I need to choose a few with middle or high grade spirit roots, so as to avoid the Honkai Proportionality Law.

One hundred people seems to be a milestone, or so Einstein says. The most optimal set-up is to have one hundred and fifty cultivators at most—with middle grade spirit roots as the minimum standard.

This brings down the last change: cultivation resources.

Ever since my [Two Phase Art] broke through the [Small Accomplishment] mastery, I can now convert all “non-living objects” into their immortal cultivation equivalent. That refers to everything except organic and sentient lifeforms—humans and animals.

Plants containing honkai energy can become spiritual plants. Similarly, minerals, ores, and weapons mixed with honkai energy can become spiritual materials and artifacts.

Due to the Honkai Proportionality Law, the plan changed to dumping most resources to those with high talents. Only that could ensure the greatest effect with the least amount of drawback.

Currently, spiritual plants up to the second grade are found. Not a single one could be converted into third grade. The other spiritual materials—ores and metals in particular—are in sharp contrast to that situation.

There are a lot of third grade spiritual ores and metals converted over the past month. Welt Yang did not sleep much and kept on creating artifacts one after another. A lot of unused and rather obsolete honkai weapons are turned into spiritual artifacts.

The [Two Phase Art] led to a sharp increase of equipment within the cultivators. Talismans and pills of second grade became the standard setup, both made by me and Welt Yang.

Third grade spiritual artifacts are readily available to each high grade spirit root—clothes, ornaments, and main weapons.

All in all, a huge spike in our power occurred during the past month. Though the improvement decreases as we adapt to this surge of cultivation resources, it remains as a large increase.

Foundation Establishment materials are not a problem within the short-term. There are a lot of plants on Earth exposed to honkai energy for a long time. Sustainability comes after we defeat the Honkai.

The sudden surge of wealth feels good to see personally…

Hm..?

“Seele.”

“Ah?”

Before I knew it, Seele was standing not far from me in a daze. It took her three seconds to rush to my side. Her eyes looked a bit dazed.

The best I saw from her current emotions is confusion... and a tinge of disappointment.

“I heard it from Doctor Tesla.”

“Ah?!”

She seemed to have thought of something and jolted.

“I can’t hide it from you…”

“I won’t scold you, no worries.”

“..!”

She looked at me in surprise. Seele kept avoiding my gaze up until now.

“Practical combat training is good. We will have a huge fight in two years at the latest.”

“A huge fight..?”

I nodded.

“It’s a fight that will determine humanity’s fate.”

“..?”

She looked at me confusedly.

“We will need more helping hands at that time. It will definitely be a hectic day… or week.”

“Um. Um. I will help.”

Seele looked satisfied after giving her some head pats. We talked for a while before she left. Her mind is preoccupied with something.

If it’s about that, I can only face it head-on. Whatever happens next is up to fate.

Just then, I sensed something from afar.

I left a mental imprint on Chi You’s corpse. I did not touch it and allowed the World Serpent to steal its corpse. All of that was to have a chance to confirm the location of the World Serpent HQ—or to be more exact, the Elysian Realm.

A lot of important things have to be settled there. The Authority of Origin manifesting as Elysia is the most important one. It takes Bronya’s Truth and Mei’s Origin for Kiana to become the Herrscher of Finality, thereby defeating Kevin and accepting the Cocoon’s embrace.

Without the two, things become more risky. I will have to fill in the gaps.

Anyways, the mental imprint was broken. I did not catch so much of a glimpse before it was forcibly erased.

I wonder…

Who was it?

Chapter 145: The Winner and the Loser (?)

Kiana’s mind is in a huge mess. Her dreams entailed some very unspeakable stuff. Her riding skills went up to the [Great Accomplishment] mastery all at once. Later on, however, Kiana was retaliated against by Shi Tian and was made to understand the immensity of heaven and earth.

Just then, she woke up.

Her big blue pupils blinked in an attempt to fight the remaining sleepiness. Kiana hasn’t felt this drained since a year ago. If it wasn’t for her body cultivation, she would’ve been dehydrated…

“AH?!”

A startled shout came from her.

Turns out, Kiana gave Shi Tian a bear hug and made him into a human-sized body pillow.

Worse, she rubbed her body against him and did something completely immoral.

She could still feel the wetness on her lower body. The slight weakness of her legs, coupled with the thick smell of something, explained everything. The dampness of such a large place could only be explained by repeated rainfall.

She hastily took out the immortal version of an alarm clock.

‘9:30 AM… One night..!’

Overwhelmed by embarrassment, Kiana’s mind stopped working. Even her breathing paused.

In an attempt to undo her hug, something big struck her right thigh.

“..!”

‘No, no, no!’

Although Kiana was very proactive, her mind could not handle this level of stress.

“Hum…”

The moment she saw Shi Tian woke up, she cast the fastest cleaning spell she ever did in her life.

The somewhat sweet and Kiana-related scent disappeared…

But the surrounding yin qi did not.

In the end, Kiana teleported Shi Tian out of the subspace. She did not consume much honkai energy due to the fact Shi Tian did not ‘resist’. If a Purple Mansion Realm resisted, she would have spent more trouble using her Herrscher Authority.

Without a word, the Tuna sent him away.

That was when Shi Tian fully woke up. He was startled when he felt spatial fluctuations nearby.

“It was a dream about the phoenix at first, but why did it turn into Kiana being a maid? She is clumsy enough to spill drinks on my pants…”

His eyes suddenly noticed the traces of a cleaning spell.

“What the hell…”

A vague guess entered his mind, to which he banished in the next moment. Shi Tian recalled everything that happened last night.

“My heart can’t take it much…”

Fortunately, the Heavenly Phoenix he fought left him a way to escape. If it didn’t, the dual cultivation side art would have seen the light of day.

“Where’s Kiana..?”

*****

“Fu…”

Seele heaved a deep breath. Behind her are two dozen people. All of them are knocked unconscious with their arms cuffed behind their back.

Three days ago, she flew to the Salt Lake Base and talked with Tesla. Seele wanted to take on some “missions” that they could not settle.

Tesla was hesitant at first, but she ended up trusting the combat ability shown by her inside the simulation room.

A Foundation Establishment Realm wouldn’t die even with high-caliber bullets. They can react on time and dodge it. Even if it hits them, it would not make so much as a shallow wound.

Only nukes can kill Foundation Establishment cultivators.

As for Purple Mansion…

That becomes questionable.

Seele possessed the body cultivation of peak Foundation Establishment. Her qi and mental cultivation stays at early and middle stage, respectively.

With such a line-up, Tesla entrusted several missions to her, to which she ended up completing.

One quick sweep of her spiritual consciousness can knock all ordinary people. The highly-trained ones will be left without any combat effectiveness. The remaining ones operated remotely. But, to their shock, guns, tanks, and missiles did not work on her.

The earlier half entailed asking her other self to show up and deal with trouble. Seele was inexperienced and let her guard down to those missiles.

She gradually learned the gist of fighting in the latter half. Playing around with Titans and splitting them in half became the norm.

{“You want this. I am not joking with you.”}

“...”

{“No need to be scared. Would you hide behind your Sister Bronya forever? Or what, expect he would always be there to save you?”}

Seele could not speak.

She is scared.

At first, she wanted to get out of her comfort zone. But when she was fighting, she felt that blood and violence elicited a certain reaction from her.

The sharp contrast between that and her peaceful nature made her feel very conflicted.

‘I can do this!’

After a round of self-talk, Seele regained her composure. She waited until the Anti-Entropy agents arrived and took care of the entire establishment.

It belonged to one of the Executioners in the radical faction. Everyone in that group has more or less private laboratories and child-trafficking syndicates on their hands. Gathering children with good honkai adaptability is the norm.

This is the last few remaining facilities after a month’s worth of uprooting. It can be said that Welt Yang’s prestige came back, with his authority over Anti-Entropy reaching an all-time high. He controls most, if not the entire organization.

Beep-!

Tesla’s projection came up on Seele’s smartwatch.

“That settles it. The remaining few bases can be handled by us alone. The top to bottom approach worked well. Thank you, Seele.”

“Um. Got it.”

With a renewed sense of pride and confidence, Seele flew back home. The three days’ worth of fighting could not completely eliminate her cowardly nature, but she took some steps away from it.

At least, she won’t hesitate to fight when needed.

This also helped Seele make up her mind.

{“There’s already something fishy between them. Your only choice is to steal him from her.”}

“W-w-what?!”

She stuttered when she heard her other self's suggestion. A part of her disproved it, but the majority of her shockingly… approved.

There was no way.

Seele found herself akin to someone forcing herself between two people with a good relationship.

Kiana had the luck and fate to encounter Shi Tian first. Their friendship gradually becomes dubious. It is not impossible for the two to fall in love.

Seele, the latecomer, bears the destiny of being the losing heroine.

Her other self acknowledges this fact severely. Seele’s only other choice is to act against the norm and be the bad person. In fact, her other self drew up dozens of scenarios to steal Shi Tian away from the Tuna’s grasp.

“No, I can’t…”

{“Then give up.”}

“...I can’t… do it too…”

{“What do you even want?”}

“I…”

The silence between the two lasted until Seele arrived back at the orphanage.

There, she saw Shi Tian standing beside the huge gate. His current immortal-like demeanor coupled with his tied-up shoulder-length hair attracted her eyes at first glance.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Cocolia’s act of inviting the two to live in the orphanage is the best thing that happened to Seele’s life. She got to know an amazing friend… and an unreachable crush.

Everything he did, whether he succeeded or failed, looked good in Seele’s eyes. His prior awkwardness on interacting with the other kids was well-appreciated. She witnessed him outgrow these flaws, all the whilst showing a better confidence to oneself.

The unique attributes of cultivation hearts appear.

As for Seele’s [Scythe Heart], it exists to slice, pierce, and hook enemies closer to herself.

“I… want to be by his side.”

{“...”}

“Even if… even if his heart already belongs to someone else…”

That determination felt very strong… until she saw something:

Kiana’s unique aura.

The moment she came closer, Seele became more certain. Kiana is in close proximity to Shi Tian. Sitting together, hugging, kissing…

Her entire body froze like a puppet with cut strings.

Chapter 144: Against a Golden Core

It’s over.

I expected Kiana’s surprise, shock, and aversion. I was ready for it when I told her everything.

Instead, she attacked me wordlessly and… pinned me down on the bed.

What was once my source of comfort turned into a forbidden zone. I did my best to stay away from it.

Sleeping with Kiana was fine back then. The two of us did not think much about it. Kiana liked to use me as a human-sized body pillow.

This changed after Kiana’s confession.

I did not expect her to become very clingy and… aggressive. This aspect of hers was shown whenever she was with Mei, but to be on the receiving end of it…

I have zero regrets.

It’s just that, she is testing my self-control. A sword cultivator like me can perfectly handle external desires. However, if I really want it, that self-control won’t matter.

Cultivators have selfish desires. They are not flawless and rational gods.

“Hum…”

Thirty minutes of breathless kissing sent me to a verge of breakdown. Both of her hands appeared beneath my shirt. In retaliation, my hands went to her waist. I tried to lift her shirt above, but the moment I touched a part of her skin, something buzzed in my mind.

...

Forget it.

It's too dangerous.

This is, after all, a competition to see who will give up first.

Bad news: The Tuna remains persistent.

Just then, I saw a tangible pale blue energy emanate from Kiana.

Yin Qi?

My mind almost halted.

“Hn..!”

Her entire body jolted as her eyes closed. My hands on her waist could feel her trembling. A few seconds later, a damp sensation appeared on my stomach—the place where Kiana sat. Her legs remained trembling. The concentration of the yin qi she emitted became thicker.

“Huff…”

With my last bit of self control, I separated my lips from hers. The redness on her face is extremely evident. I did not have much choice except to let her face rest on my shoulders.

She is unconscious. Her…

I tried my best to shift my thoughts away.

“Huff…”

It is my turn to experience yet another torture. My little brother could not calm down. Her scent along with the existence of her yin qi fueled my desires further. All I can do is to put up distracting thoughts.

Yin Qi is a special type of energy belonging to women. It is a core component of a side art known as… Dual Cultivation.

Simply put, women emit them in-between those… acts. If a man absorbs them, they will increase their cultivation. The same happens when a woman absorbs a man’s yang qi. These energies appear whenever someone… climaxes.

If I…

If…

My mind kept flashing back to the pale blue yin qi and the damp feeling in my lower stomach.

A part of my mind gave up on that thought. I used my spiritual consciousness to attract the surrounding yin qi… and absorbed them into my crystal dantian.

A cool and refreshing feeling appeared in my body. It served to fuel my desires further…

I am so dumb!

With a thought, my consciousness  entered the golden orb space. I did not hesitate to enter the Demon Arena. All of my frustrations and unfulfilled desires… I need to vent them out with combat!

The surroundings changed. A barren land appeared in my eyes. The cracked ground and withered trees foreshadowed the demon I am about to fight.

Screech-!

A sharp cry appeared above the skies. A bird whose entire body is made up of flames appeared.

Buzz-!

Its sheer presence sent a wave of unimaginable pressure to me. Its vastness is far incomparable to anything in the Purple Mansion Realm!

“Cough..!”

Blood spilled out of my mouth. I am injured by its surrounding pressure alone..!

[Heavenly Phoenix]

Qi Realm: Early Golden Core

Body Realm: Early Golden Core

Mental Realm: Early Golden Core

Traits: Possesses bloodline of a True Spirit-level phoenix; comprehended the Supernatural Power of Flames; has strong comprehension of the Dao of Flames; has notable vitality…

Like an ice-cold bucket of water, my burning lust dissipated. I entered the calm state I longed for earlier.

Golden Core Realm…

For a month, the demons I faced increased in strength. It was the late Purple Mansion Realm dragon, then the peak Purple Mansion Realm bear. The third one ten days ago is a peak Purple Mansion Realm wolf.

Now, it’s an early Golden Core Realm Phoenix.

My pupils dilated. The sea of flames emerged all throughout the skies. Wherever my spiritual consciousness went, the skies were filled with nothing but scarlet red flames. The moment I touched it, my spiritual consciousness burned literally.

“Kkh..!”

A strong headache manifested in my head. A sense of crisis pressed down in my chest.

Looking at the boundless sea of flames that could drown several continents at once, I did not hesitate any longer.

I have three powers that pose a threat to Golden Core Demons: [True Form], [Sword Light Refraction], and [Herrscher Authority].

I learned from my previous mistakes. I always keep around 10,000 HW worth of honkai energy inside my body. It allows for instantaneous usage of my Herrscher Authority—comparable to one six-cored Sirin.

Should I create two strikes or a single empowered strike?

I made up my mind.

Swiftly, the [Beginningless Sword] appeared in my grasp. Its status as a fourth grade spiritual artifact elevated my output to another level. Even if I could not fully utilize its strengths, it is enough.

Everything I possess outside—down to current status—is perfectly replicated inside the Demon Arena. Pills consumed here won’t be affected in real life, too.

I unhesitantly placed three pills inside my mouth, all for recovering the mind.

Crunch-!

“Fu…”

[True Form] was deployed first. I used it for its ultimate attack. Unexpectedly, something else happened.

The peak Purple Mansion Realm mental cultivation started to sublimate into something else. Only, it lacked a final push.

Hum-!

The [Sword Light Refraction] gave that final push.

The range of my spiritual consciousness did not change. But, its quality did. I could see a lot of things I could not see before. The dao rhymes present in the sea of flames danced like birds embodying freedom.

Their descent did not bring despair, but rather, a kind of liberation. It is the Dao of Life at work.

{Nine Nirvana Life Origin Flames}

Grade: Low Fourth Grade

Traits: Possesses the Dao of Life; sustained consecutive damage; possesses the Dao of Death; has a chance to sublimate to the Dao of Nirvana…

The innate spiritual flames of True Spirit Phoenixes at birth. It sports the Dao of Flames, Life, and Destruction—a three-fold combination that can deal with most people within the same realm.

Unfortunately for them, I can play with fire too.

Swoosh-!

Crackle-!

Pale blue flames surrounded my sword. It seeped deeply within it, merging into one.

Just when it was no longer visible, my Herscher Authority acted up.

Ten thousand HW worth of energy, all poured for this single strike.

[True Form]’s Ultimate Attack.

[Sword Light Refraction].

[Spiritual Flames].

[Herrscher Authority].

Four different powers coalesced into one. Held in front of my face is not a sword, but a pillar of pale blue flames.

Crackle-!

Zoom-!

The moment it was swung down, pale blue flames emerged out of thin air. They darted swiftly to the phoenix’s location. The sea of flames could not hide it from my [Encompassing Eyes]. It is all thanks to my temporary upgrades.

{Mental Cultivation: Peak Purple Mansion > Early Golden Core}

{Dao of Causality: Supernatural Seed > Supernatural Power}

{Predicted Superimposed Power (4-Kinds): Middle Golden Core}

SCREECH-!

Its cries are as clear as the brightest day. A solid sensation was fed back to my hand.

Some of the [Nine Nirvana Life Origin Flames] dissipated after clashing with my attack. It revealed the phoenix’s current state.

The several kilometer long pillar of pale blue flames struck its neck halfway through. Dao rhymes danced around its body, with the Dao of Life attempting to repair the damage.

Unfortunately, three Golden Core level powers are superimposed onto it. Its innate advantage as the holder of the True Spirit Bloodline could not work immediately.

“Ha..!”

Screech-!

The phoenix’s physical body could no longer hold on. The flame pillar struck down diagonally to its neck, severing not only its body, but also its soul.

I swung my sword in an S-shape, determined to strike down even its most precious Demon Core.

Just then, the sea of flames submerged the ground. My physical body was not spared. My outfit was burned to ashes instantly. My skin started to get scorched, followed by my hair, eyes…

The pain…

I can’t describe it.

All that’s keeping me awake is the solid sensation fed back to my hands.

Crack-!

The moment I heard a snapping sound, I found myself back to the golden orb space.

Thud-!

“Huff..! Huff..!”

I lay down on the ground, sprawled over.

I leaned my head upwards and saw a huge hundred-kilometer body frozen by time.

I could no longer sustain my consciousness. I automatically came back to the real world where Kiana lay asleep atop me.

The last thing I saw was her drool dropping on my chest…

Chapter 143: Two Breaths' Confession

Durandal noticed the rapid improvements she made within the past month. It was incredulous to see her “normal” workout regime resulting in visible improvements. Her adaptability to honkai energy increased sharply for three days.

She tried her best to find the reason for it. Ultimately, she recalled the time in Antarctica. Every time she breathed in that “air”, she felt stronger. A brief exposure to the fourth grade spirit vein strengthened her physique.

In the end, Durandal could no longer hold back and went to see Shi Tian. She booked a flight and arrived in the Far East.

As luck may have it, she discovered strong spatial fluctuations along the way. It had zero traces of honkai energy, which startled her. She went ahead and investigated the scene. Her lack of battlesuit limited her capabilities, however. She readied herself to call for backup as she strolled with her casual attire.

Durandal went back and forth through the city but to no avail.

She was about to request for more detailed readings when she felt something strange—that she kept on missing something.

After five tries, she finally broke through the concealment by the two Purple Mansion Realm cultivators.

Her eyes stayed on Shi Tian for a while. Though his hair is slightly longer, she is positive he was the person she is looking for.

It’s just that…

‘What do I say at times like this?’

Durandal looked at the white-haired girl with him. A quick look on her face is all she needed to recognize her.

‘Siegfried Kaslana’s daughter…’

Durandal blinked her eyes several times. She unnaturally shifted her gaze away from the two. Then, she began walking away like she saw nothing.

“Wait.”

Suddenly, Shi Tian’s voice rang on her head. Her footsteps paused. She looked back and saw him come out of the alley. Kiana followed his back as she straightened her white jacket. Her face is visibly embarrassed.

Durandal caught onto a light gray box he threw over.

“This..?”

“Medicine. Treat that as a bribe.” He then added, “Don’t mention anyone about us.”

Without seeing Durandal’s reaction, Shi Tian turned his back on her. A few steps later, the couple disappeared.

She stood still for a while and processed these sequences of events. The wooden texture on the box surprised her.

When she opened it, she found a glass bottle with a narrow neck. It is akin to a miniature vase. Inside are ten spherical light green pills.

Looking back to the empty sidewalk, Durandal’s mind was soon filled with a lot of questions.

*****

Kiana’s previous embarrassed state made her unable to focus on Durandal’s abnormality. The feeling she gave off is very familiar to her. This was their first meeting, and as such, it felt off no matter what.

Only when the two ran off to another city in the Far East did she calm down. Their temporary resting place is a random rooftop of a high-rise building.

After setting up their non-existence concealment, they sat on the edge of the rooftop.

“She feels very familiar.”

“...She might be your sister.”

“Ah?!”

A projection emerged from Shi Tian’s hand. It is none other than Durandal. With a thought, her blonde hair turned pure white.

“Ah?!”

The Tuna was dumbfounded for the second time.

“She looks just like me!”

Although there are differences in physical development, Durandal’s face is similar to Kiana’s.

Just then, guilt flashed on her eyes. She understood what was going on.

‘She… she is the real Kiana.’

The memories of that day are vivid in her mind. The plane was shot down and lost control. Siegfried was only able to rescue K-423 and not his actual daughter.

Unexpectedly, Schicksal’s S Rank Valkyrie turned out to be the real Kiana Kaslana!

Kiana looked towards Shi Tian. Her internal struggle lasted for a while.

“What’s wrong?”

“I… have some things I haven’t told you.”

“That’s fine.”

“Ah?”

Shi Tian’s response caught her off guard.

“Say it when you’re comfortable. Also…” He paused before he continued, “I also have secrets of my own.”

Contrary to her Tuna-like nature, Kiana understood his intentions. He trusted her enough; she trusted him too. That is enough. Everything else can be talked about later.

A sense of security wrapped around Kiana. She felt like she could be at ease so long as Shi Tian is here.

“Actually, I am created due to a project…”

Kiana began telling him her true identity—both as a clone of Sirin and as a clone of Siegfried Kaslana’s daughter. She knew Shi Tian had some guesses in his mind but did not question it.

Little did she know, he knew more things about herself.

Her sincere “confession” made him feel guilty.

Looking at Kiana’s trust and her confession of her past, Shi Tian knew what he needed to do. He no longer hesitated and spoke of the truth.

“There’s no need to explain further, Kiana.”

“..?”

His sudden interruption sent her to a halt.

“Remember the HOMU comic issue you hated the most?”

“The otherworlder one?”

That volume shows the adventure of a HOMU that slipped into another world. In the end, that HOMU saved the world and returned to its home world. It was supposed to be a happy ending, but the fact it abandoned its comrades in the “otherworld” is a painful ending to most readers.

Kiana is one of those readers.

“I came from another world.”

“...”

“I know the future of this world… of the honkai… and you.”

“...”

Shi Tian narrated his real background.

“I am a college graduate, born from a rich family…”

He did not hide much.

“The future of this world existed in the form of a game. You… are destined to be Earth’s savior…”

He briefly went through her background, and then the battles she would face in her “future”. He chose to explain the general plot instead of going in-depth with character interactions and the like.

Shi Tian chose to hide nothing anymore. Not even Su received this treatment. This is his sincerity borne out of Kiana’s sincerity.

He could have hidden from her. Yet, he chose not to.

Shi Tian’s essence is sincerity. He could not bear to half-ass things when the other party was being completely sincere to him. Things are different with Kiana being his girlfriend, too.

‘The rest is up to the future…’

The explanation took half an hour. Kiana did not speak once during this time. Her eyes contained shock at first, and then understanding. Shi Tian does not know what she is feeling now.

“...why when I saw you, I wanted to… help. That’s all. Seeing you happy… is enough for me.”

“..!”

His support and sacrifices meant something else now in Kiana’s eyes.

From here, she noticed one thing: Shi Tian’s self-sacrificial tendencies.

Not even he knew about it. The first thing that came to his mind when he met Kiana is to help her achieve that ideal ending. No matter what harm it does to him, or even the fact it might kill him, he still pushed through.

His two decades’ worth of being pragmatic and realistic clashed with the idealism born out of being sent into this world. His interactions with Kiana, Seele, Bronya, and the others further strengthened it.

He did not notice these changes. Ironically, he became similar to the wrought iron hero (Nameless).

‘All of it… for me..?’

The truth no longer mattered in Kiana’s eyes. All that mattered was he did so many things for her and cared for her. She fell head over heels to him all over again.

The moment Shi Tian finished telling his story, he was pushed to the ground by Kiana. Then, they were swiftly transported back to Kiana’s subspace—right atop their late third grade bed.

The comfortable bedding did not make him sleep this time.

The sudden changes startled him.

“You… won’t leave?”

He understood she was talking about that HOMU comic.

“No. My life is over in that world…”

His mouth was sealed with Kiana’s lips. She did not give him a chance to speak. Her hands gently pressed over his chest.

For a while, he was met with Kiana’s passionate kiss.

Chapter 142: Greedy And Aggressive Tuna

The entire morning was spent fighting back and forth with Fu Hua. It feels good to be able to “compete” on equal grounds. Crushing with overwhelming strength is good. Fighting on equal grounds is also good.

Well, scratch all of that.

So long as I fight with chances of winning, that’s good enough. The only thing separating life and death battles and casual sparring is the willingness to fight.

Hum-!

I sensed my sword cultivation increase slightly. The affirmation of my beliefs strengthens my sword. This becomes more important now that I lost the boost from my Void Refinement Realm mental power. Ironically, it is my body and qi that progresses continuously.

I have a feeling they might catch up with my peak stage mental cultivation. Going from the peak of Purple Mansion Realm to the early stage of Golden Core Realm is a huge leap.

It can take a year to decades given the opportunities here.

I dare not to underestimate things anymore.

“What happened to Sin?”

I looked at Bronya. Her aura can easily attract attention. Part of it belongs to her youthfulness; the other from her unique charm.

The only problem with her is… she doesn’t grow at all. We left her far behind.

“She bragged twice and got slapped in the face twice.”

“...It sounds like her thing.”

“She embarrassed herself in the face of fellow cultivators.”

“...”

I could not help but compare Bronya to Seele. The latter already looks like her fifteen year old self. Kiana, Seele, and I left Bronya in terms of physical growth.

“Anyways, we might have two new visitors now and then.”

“Understood. The Bronya will receive them well.”

Just then, the white-haired Tuna popped out of nowhere.

“Bronya? I thought you were practicing today?”

“The Bronya finished it ahead of schedule. I have successfully mastered two techniques to the [Small Accomplishment] stage.”

“..!”

Akin to a cat’s tail being stepped on, Kiana jolted at her in surprise. She then redirected her surprised gaze to me.

“Bronya is different from you. She’s smarter.” I commented.

Kiana’s qi cultivation technique reached the [Great Accomplishment] mastery. The rest of her techniques are still stuck at the [Small Accomplishment] mastery.

Fortunately, the effects of her qi cultivation technique can help her in this regard.

Her main cultivation technique's [Small Accomplishment] effect boosts one technique to the [Small Accomplishment] whenever one other technique reaches [Small Accomplishment]; a buy-one-take-one, per se.

The technique's [Great Accomplishment], however, opens up a mysterious space inside her. It is a simulation space that allows her to arbitrarily release spells at will. Kiana does not have to worry about consumption, thus being able to practice spells endlessly.

Its biggest effect lies in a "multiplier" that gives her insights out of nowhere. This multiplier is reliant on her mastered techniques. One [Small Accomplishment] technique boost it by 5% while one [Great Accomplishment] boosts it by 20%.

This stacks endlessly. The boost becomes stronger when her qi cultivation technique reaches higher masteries.

It is a bonafide protagonist-level cheat.

“I am smart too!”

“That’s relative to ordinary people. We are cultivators, Kiana.”

“Humph…”

An ominous foreboding feeling came to my mind.

Looking at her eyes and then her smile, there are 99.4% chances she is cooking something.

Worse…

I know what it is.

With one step, Kiana appeared on my side.

“I will be borrowing him for a bit!”

Kiana unscrupulously used her Herrscher Authority to teleport us away. The poor Bronya is baffled by this series of events.

I found myself in a random dark alleyway. The Tuna pushed my back against the concrete wall.

She acted like a bonafide hooligan about to take advantage of someone—me.

Her flawless hand touched my chest. Her double braids swayed, adding more to the mischievous look she is giving me. Her signature white-orange jacket became a witness to this crime.

Wordlessly, she bit onto my neck. The tip of her tongue brushed past my skin.

“Ow…”

“Hum. Aren’t I smart?” She asked.

Kiana’s playful eyes met mine.

I finally understood what she is up to. She led everything up to this point.

“You are too greedy.”

“There’s nothing wrong with it!” She replied. “It’s like the old times.”

I closed my eyes.

For a month, I was half-expectant and half-worried. Everything was still fine a week after her supposed confession.

Things changed in the second week.

Kiana wanted more alone time. It gradually affected our daily life—even our practice life wasn’t spared. When I tried to rectify it by lessening the time of contact, Kiana became even more aggressive in our next meetings. That effect extended up to now.

If it wasn’t for embarrassment and my good self-control, we might have done some unspeakable things by now.

I opened my eyes. Her teeth sank in my shoulder. The playfulness in her eyes changed to longing.

Where did my gullible Tuna go?

A few minutes later, she was done playing around with my shoulder and neck. These hickeys can go away with a simple spell, but Kiana wanted to let it be during our time.

The passersby did not notice us. Our strong mental cultivation can make us non-existent in the eyes of mortals. It is not a simple light concealment. Our physical body can pass through the unknowing mortals.

Unfortunately, this weapon is used to find remote places for us to spend our time.

I combed her hair with my right hand. Every time I did so, I felt a jolt on her body. My left arm remained on her god-like waist. Every time I held it in my hands, it feels surreal... and satisfying. It makes me want to do some ungodly things... but I stayed at the head patting range for now.

Kiana likes head pats very much. I happily complied whenever she was busy biting me.

She retracted her head. She faced me directly. Without a blink, her lips went for mine.

Her bright blue eyes narrowed as her tongue went inside my mouth.

Due to her hastiness, the tip of her tongue slammed against the roof of my mouth. She froze in this awkward moment. Her face turned red as her chest heaved up and down. Her breathing turned faster as she broke out of our kiss. Thin silver lines connected us momentarily.

Seeing her vulnerable look, I did not hesitate to strike back.

“That happens when you eat hastily. Back when we ate those roast meat, you choked several times…”

“It’s not the same as that!” She hesitated for a while and said, “You taste better than it.”

“...”

My heart skipped a beat. I, a Purple Mansion Realm cultivator, nearly had trouble breathing.

It is my turn to become flustered. All sorts of chaotic and wild thoughts entered my head.

Forget them, it’s my time to teach her something.

It is my turn to initiate a kiss. Our lips met. Although surprised, Kiana cooperated by opening her mouth. The bottom of my tongue rested atop hers. Then, it swirled around her. It did not take long for the two of us to become entangled in this deep kiss.

Just then, a gaze landed on us.

Both of us got forcibly removed from this immersive state. I followed the source of that gaze and saw an uninvited guest.

Bianka.

At this moment, her startled look is reflected in my eyes.

Chapter 141: Daily Life At Schicksal

Schicksal HQ.

It is a landmass supported by floating isles. It is the center of every other Schicksal branch all over the world. It houses the biggest number of logistical valkyries as well as Schicksal’s strongest valkyrie squad, the Immortal Blades.

Simply put, it is the place with the most importance within Schicksal’s operations.

Today, one such D Rank Valkyrie logged in with her fingerprint and irises. The entire building looked more like a spaceship bridge than anything else.

Huge transparent window frames enclosed it from the blue skies. A lot of other valkyries are readying themselves on their workstations.

It did not take long for the girl to arrive on her desk. A glass screen and holographic projections served as her interface.

The girl booted everything up before she began to look up for all sorts of files. It is clear she has no intentions to work at all.

The valkyries around her did not notice a thing. The D Rank Valkyrie checked out, returned to her dormitory, and resumed this life.

It wasn’t until an emergency occurred did she get reprimanded. Her superior is a C Rank Valkyrie. She is two levels below the logistic division’s head, the S Rank Valkyrie Rita Rossweiss.

Rita was awarded the S Rank partly due to her extremely efficient handling of Schicksal’s logistics division. Some valkyries gossip about a special espionage division headed by her, which is why their Overseer appointed her as an S Rank Valkyrie.

“This is the first warning. As a part of the satellite communications division, you failed to relay the sharp drop of honkai emissions within the Antarctic continent…”

The D Rank Valkyrie did not show visible changes. She nodded, handed over her report, and went back to her three-person dormitory.

She came back early, which is precisely why nobody else was present.

“Antarctica.” She muttered with a blank look. “It’s that person.”

Her entire body began to tremble. Both of her hands shook, making her unable to pick anything up.

The Herrscher of Domination appeared forty days ago. She first emerged after taking over a young girl. She inherited and prevented her soul from leaving the body. The Herrscher Core of Dominance is akin to an anchor that prevents death.

Aside from that, it also grants them a small fragment of the prior Herrschers—from the first to the ninth. It depends on their avatar’s honkai resistance, however.

The Herrscher of Domination did not stir up trouble from the get-go. It followed the low-key approach. It gathered together one thousand avatars, each from different backgrounds. Their similarities are these people’s tendencies to have extremely dark thoughts—with the worst case being suicide.

When a better avatar comes, the Herrscher of Domination discards its worst avatars and replaces it with the better one.

The Honkai God also bestowed the power to conceal her identity as a Herrscher. As long as it does not actively use its long-range communication and the Theater of Domination, the Herrscher Core will remain hidden.

Finally, the Honkai God gave her a single message:

Beware of the man whose existence is void.

The Herrscher of Domination perceived that “man” as the Herrschers’ boogeyman. It hasn’t seen nor heard of his existence yet… until today.

When the D Rank Valkyrie avatar saw the disturbance in the Antarctic, she knew it was him. That is the man whom God warned it against.

The sheer destruction left on the Antarctic sparked a huge storm within the Schicksal HQ. The scale of damages are estimated to be comparable to two Herrscher-level threats duking it out.

Facing such an enemy, the Herrscher of Domination does not know what to do.

“Hide..! I need to…”

*****

The sun is setting. Most valkyries have returned to their respective dorms. The divisions who needed to work overtime are staying within their buildings. As a result, the Schicksal HQ’s sidewalks appear to be desolate.

The figure of a girl could be seen jogging. She only stopped when she finished running the tenth lap.

Durandal did not break a sweat. Jogging is more of clearing up her mind. The real deal comes when she enters her exclusive training room.

Just before she could do so, she spotted someone.

“Master Bianka.” Rita said as she bowed to her direction.

“You finished it so soon?”

“Yes. The Overseer mentioned there is no need to send you to the Antarctic. Taking your place is an effective choice.”

The huge disturbance on the Antarctic this morning is a big deal in the eyes of others. Otto, however, is busy studying the Second Divine Key’s effects. It has been this way since a month ago.

In the end, Rita took Durandal’s place and led half of the Immortal Blade squad to check on the Antarctic. Needless to say, they found nothing of note. Except for the depletion of honkai emissions, there was nothing else.

The Immortal Blade Squad knew it was connected to their secret deal, but upon seeing Rita’s noncommittal attitude, they tacitly kept it to themselves.

Their visit today is more of a reassurance than anything else.

“Was it him?” Durandal asked.

“Most likely. The damages include long cuts over glaciers. It spans over a kilometer in total.”

Rita reported what they saw.

“That’s not right. I have a feeling he’s stronger than that.” Durandal suddenly commented. “Did you find out if there are others around him?”

“This involves our prior investigation, Master Bianka.”

More than a month ago, Otto sent Fu Hua out to Siberia. It did not gain much attention on Schicksal as a whole. But, when she returned, she told her “experiences”.

In short, Fu Hua was found and taken away with no power to resist. Taking a glance at him will result in being discovered.

Shi Tian’s perception was so godly it was hard to believe. Yet, Fu Hua’s return served as a solid proof.

Her story was passed on from Otto to Rita and Durandal. The two haven’t tried to verify it themselves. Shi Tian has an unknown attitude to them. The best Rita can do is to investigate his prior appearances. He did not specifically hide his presence which made it easier to do.

His appearance in the Far East, Siberian Towns, Shenzhou…

The most important thing was the number of minor honkai eruptions dropping sharply in Siberia. The two already speculated how Shi Tian is keeping order within his “territory”. They even connected him to the rogue S Rank Valkyrie Schicksal encountered several dozen times. The way they are taking care of honkai eruptions is the same.

The moment honkai emissions increase, it suddenly decreases. The people within that radius gain a slightly better health. Honkai beasts are handled remotely via lances, rays of light, and gravitational abilities.

Their presence made Schicksal wary and thankful.

“...hence, it is believed he has people around him. However, their exact appearances are shielded by man-made signal and light interference. They cannot be determined with satellite feeds.”

Durandal dropped a bombshell to Rita.

“I want to meet him.”

Chapter 140: Sword Cultivators' Clash

Fu Hua experienced a lot of things ever since Shi Tian came back. She realized the [Sword Nurturing Pagoda] without becoming a real immortal cultivator. It was brought purely by her mental state and mental power.

Since her [Blade Mantra] was fully healed by her [Sword Heart], the [Sword Nurturing Pagoda] began pushing her towards the next level, [True Form].

Her new mental state also came with it. Her “frustration” and “regrets” over a few thousand years gave birth to “Senti” during the breakthrough.

In a similar manner as Shi Tian, the Will of Honkai supported Senti’s birth, henceforth giving her a new Herrscher Core.

Unfortunately, its effort went for naught. It got scammed twice by immortal cultivators. Senti got sealed inside the Herrscher Stigma Space.

After a month, Fu Hua managed to wrestle half of the control over the Herrscher Core. What came next are her plans regarding the future.

She resolved herself to not follow her previous path. Blindly following Doctor MEI and Otto Apocalypse result in regrets. She wanted to try once more—to make change on her initiative.

Assisting Shi Tian in carrying out his plans are but a part of it. If she blindly followed him only, it would make no difference in what she’s aiming for. She wanted to enact Senti’s long-desired freedom to do something on her own.

Shi Tian understood it and gave out some useful suggestions.

The one that impacted her the most is the notion of becoming a teacher again.

“Su mentioned that your Project Ember did not end well. Have you tried to utilize the honkai’s loophole?”

“Loophole..?”

“It becomes stronger with the progress of civilization. It does not pay attention to individual progress. Teaching a dozen people to become as strong as Herrschers is more useful than disseminating future tech en masse.”

There are a lot of problems with that suggestion. Just the problem of determining people’s talent in honkai is a huge problem. There is also the issue of whether they can find enough people to master the [Blade Mantra] to fight against Herrschers.

Things change with immortal cultivation, however.

It is easy to screen talented people by looking at their original honkai adaptability. Everyone with Spirit Roots has sufficient talent in honkai. Foundation Establishment grants a combat power similar to an S Rank Valkyrie, which fulfills the conditions stated above.

Thus, it is easy to select a dozen people with high talents and avoid the honkai’s civilization proportionality law. The Will of Honkai is merely a spokesperson of the Cocoon; it cannot arbitrarily go beyond its pre-determined rules.

If it could, Shi Tian’s huge “disturbance” would have triggered it.

“You can also join us in teaching other students.” He said. “Apply to become an instructor at the Far East branch.”

“Otto’s granddaughter?”

“Yes. She’s sincere when it comes to teaching the valkyries.”

Just like that, the prospects of becoming a teacher again no longer felt as bad as before.

Fu Hua soon came with Shi Tian to complete her breakthrough. That was when she saw Sin Mal and Raiden Mei for the first time.

Their extremely high talents surprised her. Fu Hua looked at Shi Tian with a renewed look.

‘He’s teaching others too…’

She understood why he could empathize with her when it comes to being a teacher. Moreover, Shi Tian is pulling off what she could not do. Sin Mal and Mei have a good relationship with him, unlike Fu Hua who was estranged with her disciples due to her ‘Discipline’.

Fu Hua watched silently as they progressed with their own things. It did not take long before the spar between the two girls ended.

She saw Shi Tian take out his blade.

“Miss Hua. Care for a spar?”

“Hm.”

She did not hesitate to agree.

One of the things she came to like is immortal cultivation’s progressiveness. Her practice is rewarded with proportional rewards. It was completely unlike her time as the Empyrean when her strength ‘stagnated’.

Fighting with Shi Tian is a way to verify her current strength.

From the peak second grade storage ring he gave, she took out a familiar blue sword. It was the weapon wielded by her last disciple, Chen Lixue. She died under Sirin’s hands while trying to protect Fu Hua.

The most painful thing was how Fu Hua forgot about her when she used [Blade Eminence].

In the end, she reclaimed her Key of Domination stored within Schicksal’s HQ and made it her own.

When she heard about the opportunity to make this sword stronger by turning it into a spiritual sword, Fu Hua agreed.

Swoosh-!

The two of them formed a distance of one kilometer. Shi Tian’s outward pressure stabilized at the middle Foundation Establishment Realm—his body, qi, and mind being on that level.

The spectators, Sin Mal and Mei, watched everything from ten kilometers away. They instinctively felt the “spar” would not be simple.

Cling-!

The bells’ chime resounded. Fu Hua’s [Sword Nurturing Pagoda] has been fully unleashed.

Crack-!

Lines of cracks immediately appeared on the ice’s surface. It is followed by a loud sonic boom.

Fu Hua’s figure flew extremely fast. The distance of a kilometer is useless in the face of Foundation Establishment cultivators.

‘How will he move?’

Upward strike?

Downward strike?

Diagonal strike?

Feint?

By the time she arrived in front of him, she was stunned to see Shi Tian’s move. It was the same as hers: a direct vertical strike.

Clang-!

Bam-!

Shi Tian’s blade staved off some force by sliding it off of hers. By doing so, she was forced to be wary of his blade. It caused her to lose the momentum she built up.

Screech-!

Shi Tian was forced to slide back a dozen meters or so.

Fu Hua met his eyes.

Shiing-!

She skillfully moved her grasp and escaped the deadlock. She attempted to stab his throat with zero hesitation.

Shockingly, Shi Tian pulled off the very same actions she did.

Clang-!

Fu Hua was forced to retreat to a defensive posture. She parried the tip of his blade and stepped back a few steps.

The same events continued. Shi Tian kept mimicking Fu Hua’s moves. Only, he always utilizes a flaw she did not notice.

By the time she adapts to these flaws, he shows her a new one. This never ending cycle forced her to defend passively.

Although they possessed the same capabilities, Fu Hua lost. She went against her every move and lost. The destruction they ensued is enough to destroy an entire city. It was fortunate they fought in the Antarctic.

Fu Hua felt lighter, but at the same time, more serious.

“How did you do it?” She asked.

The man who wore a simple gray overcoat in the Antarctic received her gaze.

“It’s both from a technique and my knowledge.”

Aside from the [Daluo Sword Art] that breaks down an opponent’s sword techniques, there are also a bunch of practical sword experiences passed down by the golden orb. These are pure technical sword fights that involve the use of swords, nothing else. It is akin to diaries to which sword cultivators write down their combat logs.

There are no supernatural powers in use, not even one’s sword cultivation.

The higher one’s realm, the better their physical and mental capabilities become. As such, the simple ways of stabbing, striking, and parrying are expounded into more complex patterns like semi-strike that faints, a stab parry, and so on.

Shi Tian ended up reading a lot of those. He is eager to put it into practice but has no one to use it with. He didn’t expect for Fu Hua to turn out to be an excellent partner.

“One more time.” She spoke.

“As you wish.”

The two sword cultivators’ fight started once more.

Chapter 139: Sin Mal's Consecutive Aura Debt

One month is not a long time.

My sense of time had long been skewed. I can spend an entire week engrossed in studying techniques. Fortunately, I did not. I am able to watch over Mei’s daily progress. The same went for the others.

Fu Hua…

She did not need my teachings much. She understood most of the essential things from the get-go. It was as if she was born for immortal cultivation. I am happy to see this happen.

Rumble-!

The moment I saw the tribulation clouds appear, I knew Mei went past her inner demons. I am quite worried about her. She’s very similar to Seele. It is beyond my expectations to see her complete the Foundation Establishment breakthrough in one go.

Buzz-!

Bam-!

Thirty minutes later, Mei finished dealing with the thunder tribulation. She wasn’t as unscathed as before. She wasted a third of its power before she managed to absorb these tribulation thunders. Her cultivation techniques revolve around the power of lightning. By utilizing them, she becomes the incarnation of thunder itself, replacing even the heaven’s most cruel thunder tribulations.

“Shishou.”

She maintained her formal greeting before walking to my side. Mei did not speak much. It is reasonable. They did not know each other well.

“Just watch. I’ll finish this in twelve… no, ten minutes!”

Sin Mal spoke proudly.

“Yeah, yeah. Don’t get slapped in the face.”

“No way!”

Why does it feel like it has a double meaning?

I didn’t have much to do. Punishing Sin Mal like Veliona does not suit my tastes. It’s better to embarrass her so bad she won’t commit another bad thing. Spanking is the best choice for it.

Especially when she tried to use her spells to invade Kiana’s dreams. A Purple Mansion Realm’s mind is incomparable with her Qi Refining Realm. It’s still a wonder why she did it.

I could only sigh at her.

Unlike Mei, Sin Mal did not get stumped by her inner demons. She even wore a scary smile while she completed the mental skill check. Her mental state is leagues beyond that of ordinary people like Mei. Add to that her psycho tendencies, I wouldn’t be surprised if she enjoyed dealing with her inner demons.

Rumble-!

Buzz-!

Bam-!

The tribulation cloud sent down three waves of tribulation lightning to Sin Mal. She was inexperienced at first, but she managed to use her dream technique later on.

The tribulation cloud turned bright white and started to shrink to her hand. She observed its miniature scale for a while before dispersing it.

There’s no way. High grade Spirit Roots are blatant hackers when it comes to tribulations. Instead of posing as a threat, they are more of a gift.

Sin Mal came back.

“Fifteen minutes. Where’s your previous words before?”

“..?!”

She wore an incredulous look.

“You took too much time in the mind stage.”

“Ah…”

Her arrogance was swiftly retracted, turning into a slight sense of glum.

“Since we are here, why don’t you two spar?”

I looked at the dejected Sin Mal and Mei.

“That way, you can become more aware of your strength.”

The two had no objections. I saw the desire to show off in each other’s eyes. Sin Mal wanted to get back from her previous aura debt. Mei underwent some mental changes and is more keen to see progress.

Click-!

Buzz-!

Bam-!

The first bout ended with Mei’s victory. She already had a background in swordsmanship. Contrary to her previous vulnerable state, she struck swiftly, not even giving Sin Mal a chance to strike back.

Her charged blow possessed overwhelming power. It is part of the sword technique I taught her. It is basically an amplifier involving swords, mental cultivation, and thunder. The charged blow is the strongest state, followed by the normal amplification state. The amplifications depend on her mastery.

Sin Mal, on the other hand, can pull her enemies into “dreams”. Its lowest level is an illusion while its highest level is capable of forcibly dragging everyone in a new “world” (i.e., a dream).

Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to showcase its strengths today. Her mood turned for the worse as she got relegated to the bottom of the three girls.

“You don’t want to challenge anyone else?”

“No.”

She sat somewhere in the corner of the Antarctic continent. Her clothes remained untouched despite the harsh weather and the tribulations. The same went for Mei and Fu Hua.

It is all thanks to Welt Yang. His talents in artifact refining is godly. Given enough resources, he can create artifacts of fourth grade and above.

This is something he proved recently.

I took a sword out of my storage ring. It housed the same appearance as the jian I used since the beginning.

[Beginningless Sword]

Grade: Low Fourth Grade

Traits: Sword cultivation output enhancement; ease of world alteration; compatibility to ten elements; sword will storage; sword will superimposition…

It started from when I comprehended the ‘true’ Dao of Causality. The supernatural seed “bloomed”, allowing it to evolve into a supernatural power the moment I step into the Golden Core Realm.

Due to it, the [Two Phase Art] went to the [Small Accomplishment] mastery. It enables the conversion of ‘non-living things’ into their immortal cultivation equivalent. The ‘non-living things’ include plants and weapons.

That single improvement gave birth to a lot of first to third grade spiritual plants and materials. The honkai weapons are also converted into first to third grade spiritual artifacts.

Things change when it comes to Divine Keys.

I used it on the Xuanyuan Sword, successfully turning it into a late third grade sword. When Welt Yang helped me combine it with my original jian and peak third grade spiritual ore, it went up to low fourth grade.

Hum-!

The sword in my hand vibrated. The spirituality contained within fourth grade spiritual plants and artifacts give birth to spirits. They have the same intelligence and will as normal humans, except that they are very loyal to their owners.

“Miss Hua. Care for a spar?”

“Hm.”

Although surprised, Fu Hua accepted my deal. A light blue sword emerged from her storage ring. A symbol of yin and yang is present on the middle of its hilt.

[Water’s Edge]

Grade: Late Third Grade

Traits: Heightened control over water elements; sword will enhancement…

There are a lot of things I converted from honkai to immortal cultivation. Fu Hua brought this sword during our fight. I asked her whether she wanted to reforge it to become suitable for immortal cultivation, and she agreed.

It meant something to her. Fu Hua’s decision stemmed from it, that I can tell.

With my nod, our “light” sparring began.

Chapter 138: The Queen's Awakening

Sin Mal was left speechless.

She did not want to play around with Shi Tian today. She wanted to confirm something.

One month ago, she noticed something unusual.

It just so happened she found out about it after being “punished”.

Sin Mal first “suffered” from it when she tried to use her dream powers to invade Shi Tian’s dreams. The entire idea was so dumb he was surprised she pulled it off. The gap of two major realms and a Golden Core level sword cultivation is akin to the gap between heaven and earth.

Little did he know, that was what she wanted to happen!

When Sin Mal pulled it off again on Kiana, she was disciplined for an hour. Although that sense of embarrassment made her ecstatic, she could not help but notice Shi Tian’s stronger ‘punishment’.

As a stalker-turned-cultivator, she became more proficient in hiding her internal thoughts. She buried this doubt until the punishment ended.

That was when she saw something strange between Shi Tian and Kiana. She could not confirm it up to now, with all of her probing attempts ending in vain.

Sin Mal could not bear to use her ability on her dear Sister Bronya. As for Seele, she got absolutely crushed by Seele’s other self, giving her a newfound trauma.

Hence, she set her sights back to Shi Tian.

Unfortunately, Sin Mal is destined to find nothing on this trip. He intently watched Fu Hua transcend her Foundation Establishment tribulation.

It took less than ten minutes to finish the three skill checks and destroy the tribulation clouds. Her qi realm reached the middle stage of Foundation Establishment. She did not even let the tribulation thunder descend when she struck it down.

Seeing this, Raiden Mei was eager to follow next. She smoothly completed the transition to the supernatural side three weeks ago. The satisfaction brought by immortal cultivation’s never-ending improvements is far stronger than her typical kendo practice.

Most importantly, it made her more beautiful. No girl would refuse an opportunity like this. As such, cultivation became her daily routine that doubled as a hobby.

This posed several flaws to Raiden Mei, however.

Her attitude to it is more of an “advanced exercise” rather than a lifelong pursuit. She lacks a certain drive behind her practice.

Fu Hua and Sin Mal were able to condense their “Hearts”, but not her. The former sought for humanity’s long-standing victory. The latter sought to keep her ‘current life’ free of all troubles.

Only Mei remained as the typical young lady who never suffered much setbacks since birth.

“Tsk, tsk. Will she fail? Her mind’s not strong enough.”

The other two did not react to Sin Mal’s words.

Mei’s internal struggles are manifested by her rampant spiritual consciousness.

Crack-!

Bam-!

It started to destroy her surroundings, becoming an invisible storm that can easily claim lives.

At this moment, Mei wasn’t too well off. She faced the time she was unconscious during the Nagazora City District’s ordeal.

She saw herself fall unconscious. The Herrscher’s avatar took advantage of their distraction and snatched one of their guns. Dealing with her bodyguards is a piece of cake.

Mei could not do anything but watch.

‘I… It was me…’

She was told that her bodyguards died due to the biological attack’s toxic substances. She personally visited their families’ funeral to send her condolences.

As a result, they did not blame her. They were grateful that a person of high-status as Mei cares about her bodyguards.

Now that she saw the truth, her mental state took a turn for the worse.

She saw herself being dragged over an alley. Every time they came across a living person, the Herrscher looked trigger happy and killed all of them.

The deaths of each person weighed on Mei’s mind. She felt helpless—useless, even.

This continued until the memories got cut off at Shi Tian’s arrival. It shifted to an unfamiliar scene. Mei was younger in this scene.

Her heart skipped a beat. She recalled what it was.

‘It’s that time..!’

Mei was kidnapped a few years prior. She could not recall much aside from her being knocked unconscious and being stuffed inside a van. By the time she came to herself, she found herself back in a hospital.

Turns out, she was kidnapped by a terrorist group. They demanded a large ransom from Ryoma—to be precise, from ME Corp.

Her mind blocked most of her memories of that time. The only thing left was her deep-seated trauma during the time of her stay. This was resolved after a three-year session at a mental institute. It no longer affected her daily life… until now.

Mei’s senses went back to that day. Her forgotten memories made their way back. She felt how it was to be in her past self’s shoes. The kidnapping, her first witness of murder, the dark room, the ensuing gunshots…

The sense of despair and hopelessness far exceeded the previous revelation. She no longer had any other thoughts as her knees grew weak.

‘I can’t do it… I can’t… I…’

She hugged her head on her knees. She dared not to take another look elsewhere as she closed her eyes.

Her intermittent sobbing halted when a voice rang on her head.

{“Useless. You are so useless.”}

These harsh words woke Mei up.

{“You can’t save yourself. You always wait to be saved by others. Look at how weak you are!”}

It is fine to be weak.

It is fine to be helpless.

They could not be affected by Raiden Mei.

But, it is a different thing when she gives up on herself.

That was the only thing Mei can affect. Yet, she was willing to throw away even that. Her other self, a born Queen, could not stand to see it.

{“Give your body to me. Go and stay in my place. You can’t do it, right?”}

“...”

{“What are you hesitating for?!”}

“...No.”

Mei seemingly came back to her senses.

“I can do it.”

{“Prove it.”}

Her other self successfully roused Mei’s spirit. These two words held a huge significance.

She tightened her fists and stood up.

Facing the dark confinement room, Mei gained the strength to face her inner fears.

Chapter 137: Group Breakthrough

I looked at the slowed down spiritual artifact and made my decision.

Against Kevin, I only utilized the capabilities of my Herrscher Core. I reached the output of 20,000 HW. That wasn’t my limit, still.

Today, it was released.

30,000 HW.

It is the equivalent of three six-cored Sirins.

Purple lines began to show on my physical body.

Stuffing my body with 30,000 HW is the norm. It is the only way my body gets tempered and becomes stronger.

Unleashing 30,000 HW per second is a different thing, however. It is akin to experiencing a tempering session every second.

The purple lines receded after using [Blade Mantra]. Aside from its mental power boost, its main use is to control imaginary energy. Honkai energy originated from that. It raised the limits of which I can bear.

{Single-Point Output: 50,000 HW}

My mind multitasked. Honkai energy stayed within my radius. Everything else was cut off and turned into pure spiritual qi.

I looked at Kiana. She already stepped outside my radius.

I am a walking honkai energy reactor. One wrong move and I might do ten times worse than Sirin’s core cascading. It won’t be one continent anymore, but multiple of them being destroyed.

Fuzz-!

The temperature around me reached absolute zero. Yet, I still can’t find the ‘feeling’ of “awakening”.

There are two cases of ‘awakening’ in-game: Bronya and Mei. The former turned Reason into Truth. The latter turned Thunder into Origin.

Bronya’s route followed the traditional one. Truth stemmed from Reason.

On the other hand, Mei did not. It is her will that turned her into the Herrscher of Origin.

Two routes with no notable similarities…

Just then, something caught my eyes.

My Spirit Roots.

I did not mind them much. The creation of Five Elements Yin Spirit Root takes hundreds, if not thousands of years. I accepted the fact that I won't be able to finish this during the fight with honkai.

Things changed with the appearance of the Herrscher Core. It induced the birth of Five Elements Yin Spirit Root. It was low grade at first, but then it evolved to middle grade during these ten days.

The Herrscher Core is akin to a rare spiritual material that boosts the birth of Spirit Roots.

Under my incredulous eyes, the middle grade spirit roots started to grow at a fast rate.

The Dao of Ice soon followed. The light blue supernatural seed resonated with the usage of my Herrscher Core and my Spirit Roots.

This strange resonance created a clicking sound in my head. The world around me slowed down drastically. It is no longer Kiana’s Global Time Fracture that did things.

It’s me.

My heart skipped a beat.

I am familiar with what’s happening. When I realized the Dao of Causality, things worked like this.

However, this one feels more different.

It’s akin to… stagnation.

Quantum Zero-Point Energy.

The world came to a freezing halt. I entered the “awakening” state I longed for.

The moment I touched the gray spiritual artifact, I saw the three souls residing within. I deliberately chose Sirin’s collapsing soul.

A thin layer of ice covered her entire being.

{State: Frozen by Nascent Soul-level Dharma Law…}

Nascent Soul…

I knew it.

Just then, I felt the duration of my special state ending.

Click-!

I lost control of my body and fell down to the ground. The surrounding honkai energy disappeared.

“Hey!”

Kiana rushed to my side. She did not forget to catch the falling ancestral tablet.

“It’s… good. I can recover…”

My body and mind are thoroughly exhausted by entering the “awakening state”.

Purple Mansion bears Supernatural Seeds.

Golden Core bears Supernatural Powers.

Nascent Soul bears Dharma Laws.

I skipped two major realms and forcefully utilized Dharma Laws. Honkai is extremely absurd in this aspect.

It took an entire hour to recover from physical and mental fatigue.

After comforting the Tuna, I inspected the ancestral tablet and found Sirin’s soul in a frozen state. It could not be affected by the outside world—not even me.

Just like that, today’s crisis came to a pass.

*****

***

*

One month later.

Antarctica’s honkai emissions are extremely high. The place was surrounded with thick concentrations of honkai energy. The glaciers formed over the course of fifty thousand years contained trace amounts of the honkai.

As such, Antarctica is not open for tourists’ visits. It is one of the few places that is known as a deadly spot.

Four new visitors landed on this exact place.

“It’s not that cold…”

Sin Mal observed their surroundings. The feeling of being teleported away in an instant is still novel to her.

Her mutterings did not earn any reaction from the two other girls. Fu Hua and Mei stayed in their personal spaces. Nobody knew each other until now.

The three shared one similarity:

Completing the entire Qi Refining Realm.

The previous record was eight months, which was done by Kiana. Shi Tian’s seven months came next.

This record was rewritten by Fu Hua who managed to complete it in twenty days. Sin Mal followed next at twenty-eight days, and then Raiden Mei at the thirtieth day.

I am their cultivation hack…’ He thought. ‘I can see how it works now…’

Shi Tian’s current realm amplified the experience potions brought by the [Xiutian Art]. Add to that ample first grade resources, it wasn’t surprising to see the trio finish the entire Qi Refining Realm in a month.

It forms a positive cycle on his end. The ones contracted by his [Xiutian Art] will have insane cultivation speeds until they reach his major realm. Once they reach the same major realm as his, it becomes their turn to contribute to Shi Tian’s cultivation speed.

This ensures Shi Tian will come up first. He will then pull them up to his major realm. This cycle continues over and over again.

His Qi Realm reached the late stage of Purple Mansion Realm after consuming the others’ accumulated Tao Gifts. It is a testament as to how much he underestimated this cultivation technique.

Reaching the Golden Core Realm within two years might not be impossible. Honkai’s hacks, [Xiutian Art], and their base talents make it possible.

‘This should be enough.’

Shi Tian watched as the surrounding honkai energy was changed into spiritual qi. Its sheer density is comparable to a low fourth grade spirit vein.

When it comes to spiritual qi, this world outclasses any other cultivation worlds by several dozen miles.

“Miss Hua. You can go first.”

“Hum.”

She nodded and flew to the sky. The specifics of breaking into the Foundation Establishment Realm was already explained to her a few days ago. Such is also the case for Sin Mal and Raiden Mei.

“You can watch her, especially you.”

He pointed out to Mei.

“Your cultivation techniques are all about lightning. You can take advantage of your tribulation to better understand them.”

“Yes.”

“What about me? You won’t say anything?”

Sin Mal suddenly interrupted.

“Just do your best.”

“...”

Chapter 136: Salvation on Hell

“You can see her?”

“Um.”

Kiana is not in the right mental state to face Sirin. I am not in the right state, either.

The changes happened too suddenly. The atmosphere from before was broken by it.

“I haven’t checked on her much. Everything she said was bad.” Kiana shook her head. “But it’s different this time. I can feel it… her despair.”

“She’s breaking down?”

“Um.”

Sirin…

When it comes to right and wrong, nothing is absolute. Everyone has their own compass telling right from wrong.

In my eyes, she is definitely a demon.

She killed more than fifty million people from the moon fragments she sent down to Earth. No amount of justification in my eyes will suffice for that act. Everyone suffered.

However, it is her existence that brought the Tuna and the evil Sirin.

Kiana is already burdened with patrolling the entire world on a daily basis. She singlehandedly cut down more than half of the casualties from the honkai eruptions worldwide. That was how huge her sense of responsibility had become.

If she is willing to give Sirin another chance…

I will support her.

“Let me do it.”

“Thanks.”

I walked in front of her. My fingertip glowed with multicolored lights as I touched her forehead.

Hum-!

A connection was established within the permanent sword light barrier I established. It is worthy of something I spent twenty years of lifespan. It is weaker than I first established it, but it is enough to suppress Sirin inside the Herrscher Core.

I thought for a while and decided to bait her out.

A small gap was opened within the barrier.

I saw a young girl with bright purple hair. She hugged both of her knees as her sobbing continued.

Just then…

Our gazes met.

*****

Sirin went crazy.

It would have been fine if she never got to see these good things, yet she did.

She did not face the same dilemma as within the game. The moment Kiana steeled her resolve and became the Herrscher of Flamescion, the last bit of her remnants disappeared. Kiana became the sole wielder of the Second Herrscher Core.

The one-sided synchronization made her see the better side of the world. Sirin doubted herself during the past year. Kiana’s resolve and attachment to her friends was the first one to send her crumbling down.

By the time she experienced the so-called love and was accepted, Sirin could no longer bear it. She broke down completely.

‘If I was her…’

‘If that Otto bastard did not take my life…’

‘If everyone is still alive…’

‘If she had not died…’

‘If I get to experience it too…’

Her frustration went nowhere. She could not vent it. She is powerless.

Sirin became angry at the world, Otto Apocalypse, humanity, and to herself. Her beliefs in the so-called Honkai God vanished the moment she was placed in this helpless situation.

Worst of all, she could not die. She is forced to see the person she could have been.

Her will broke down.

That was when she saw someone.

In this dark world enclosed with multi-colored lights, one man’s gaze received hers.

Sirin’s mind turned blank. His similarly golden pupils caught her attention.

It was the same eyes that looked at her coldly a year ago. Yet, it looked vastly different this time.

‘It is… beautiful.’

Her eyes went to his lips. It is the very same lips Kiana tasted dozens of times today.

Finally, she noticed the small gap within the multi-colored barrier.

Sirin made her choice.

Sou-!

A soul’s weight is nigh zero. Her movements are akin to the speed of light. She closed the distance and left that bleak space.

In an instant, her image descended upon the imaginary space. She came out of Kiana’s body.

Shi Tian’s [Encompassing Eyes] reacted at that very instant.

{Sirin}

Grade: None

Status: Temporary soul materialization; shattering of the soul’s structure…

His fingertip acted first. He readied himself for an attack… only for it to end in vain.

Sirin did not harm him.

Her soul materialized within the physical level. A surge of honkai energy came from her, but that was it.

Sirin’s face reached in front of his. Her body floated akin to a ghost. She closed her eyes and…

‘..!’

…stole a kiss from Shi Tian.

The physical sensation he felt made his eyes widened. The sword light present in his fingertip did not touch her.

What’s more incredulous was she did not stop on the lips. She used her tongue to pry his mouth open. Her awkward tongue movements only served to increase his confusion.

Shi Tian could not react.

‘What am I doing? No, what is she doing to me?!’

It wasn’t just him that stood dumbfounded.

“Ah…”

Kiana lost all words.

The moment Sirin came out of her, she was ready for a fight. Instead, Sirin stole Shi Tian’s kiss!

She was in utter disbelief that she did not know how to react. The reason behind Sirin’s actions is as unpredictable as it gets.

Shi Tian finally reacted after three seconds. He saw Sirin’s weightless body dissipate into specks of white light.

‘Her soul’s dissipating!’

Sou-!

A second later, the [Heavenly Official Soul Tablet] flew to his hands. He left the two Ji Xuanyuans inside this spirit vein to recover.

He swiftly used the spiritual artifact’s power to draw Sirin’s soul in. When he saw her soul’s size was halved and is on the verge of collapse even within this artifact, he sent a command to the spiritual artifact.

Aside from its function as the physical body’s substitute, it can also nurture heavily injured souls. Its passive effects are enough for the two Ji Xuanyuans to recover.

Things are different with Sirin.

She used the Honkai’s influence to materialize her soul. It is an attribute belonging to the Nascent Soul Realm. The price to pay is her death. Her already damaged soul could not last ten seconds of existence.

Shi Tian acted fast and barely saved her. Even so, her situation’s deteriorating extremely quickly.

The late third grade spiritual artifact could not deal with it. Only fourth grade spiritual artifacts have a stronger effect on souls.

Its current effect slowed down her soul's collapse by a hundred times. Seven seconds turned to seven hundred seconds.

‘No. No. There’s nothing..!’

He looked at Kiana.

“I need your Global Time Fracture.”

“Ah?!”

“Make this artifact’s time pass slower.”

“Okay!”

She realized the severity of the matter. Kiana is unwilling to see her disappear like that. She wanted to have a talk with her—to resolve everything between them all at once.

Moreover, they still have a score to settle when it comes to Shi Tian’s stolen kiss.

Sirin knew Kiana’s thoughts about using her tongue. She went ahead and did it first!

Creak-!

Like a vacuum in space, sounds stopped travelling within their radius. The ancestral tablet turned gray. Only Kiana and Shi Tian are spared from it.

“How long can you keep it up?”

“Ten minutes. I feel like my head’s becoming slightly heavier.”

Her Herrscher Power’s consumption depends on her target. The late third grade spiritual artifact is a complex target. If it wasn’t for it, she could have slowed down its time for as long as she wants.

“Okay.”

He immediately found a way to solve Sirin’s predicament.

Shi Tian would have left her to die back then. His strength isn’t enough. That was the most viable option.

Things are different now. He is strong enough to have more choices. Handling Sirin now and allowing her recovery…

He can do both.

‘Quantum zero point energy. The realm of Nascent Soul cultivators.’

Fuzz-!

The entire radius of Kiana’s Global Time Fracture is turned into a frozen wasteland.

Chapter 135: Heaven and Hell

What does a kiss feel like?

I never knew.

I did not bother about it.

Even when I came to this world, I did not think of romancing others. The threat of honkai looms above our heads. Beyond the Honkai, there is also the Aeon Wars in the near future.

That changed when Bronya spoke to me.

I realized the “liking” Kiana and Seele had exceeded admiration.

It is love.

I did not know how to respond to that.

I want nobody to get hurt. The “liking” I have for them is not romantic. I view them as best friends.

This was true… until I saw Kiana in her Finality battlesuit.

Something else changed.

I did not “romantically” like them due to my mental age. It feels weird to do so.

Things are different after I recalled Kiana’s situation.

Never had I seen the world stop... until that day.

She is twenty eight years old if I count Sirin’s life. Even if we subtract the time Sirin was offline, she is twenty one years old.

Then…

Isn’t it fine?

That thought began to gnaw on my mind. It is akin to an inner demon that kept whispering bad things in my ears.

It’s just that…

I never expected Kiana to make the first move.

Her shoulders trembled. Her eyes are kept closed. The flashbacks ended when she moved her lips away from mine. Her opened eyes kept evading my gaze.

“W-what? You can’t take it back…”

Kiana’s eyes started to turn teary. I could not give her a reply. The shock I experienced far exceeded anything else.

“Do you… hate me?”

Her voice trembled.

My frozen expression was misinterpreted.

I need to do something.

She started moving away from me.

“...Sorr—”

The [Cloud Seeking Steps] allowed me to close our distance.

Her eyes widened.

It is my turn to attack.

“..!”

I held both of her arms in place. My face drew near to hers, our lips touching.

Her irises shook.

I could not relish this sight for long. A unique scent came to my nose. Being so close to her, I caught her natural scent.

I don’t know how to describe it.

It is fragrant with a hint of sweetness.

I slowly fell into a daze… only to remember what’s going on.

Five seconds later, I let her go.

Our eyes met.

For a while, only silence remained.

*****

Kiana and Shi Tian forgot one other person.

“...”

Sirin’s mind stopped working.

Ever since she was sealed inside the Herrscher Core, she was left powerless. Her connection to the Herrscher Core itself was isolated. The barrier made of [Sword Light Refraction] trapped her to death.

By the time the sword light barrier was weakened, she could no longer wrestle control over the Herrscher Core. Kiana firmly took control of it, leaving no way out for Sirin.

Shi Tian’s return spelled her eternal imprisonment. He strengthened the sword light barrier again.

Sirin is now a Tuna on a cutting board.

Worse, her senses are connected to Kiana unilaterally.

It worked to her advantage at first. Whatever Kiana experienced, she did.

Siegfried’s prior abandonment, his acceptance, her journey to the outside world…

There was nothing that escaped her sight.

Then, a huge change occurred when Kiana met Shi Tian. The existence of ‘immortal cultivation’ is a brand new concept to Sirin. She knew nearly everything about the honkai.

As such, her first reaction is to take hold of such power.

She failed.

Immortal cultivation is for those who awakened their Spirit Roots. Though Sirin and Kiana share the same origin, they are not a single soul. They are two souls with zero differences.

Kiana’s soul has awakened Spirit Roots; Sirin has none.

That was when the crisis struck Sirin. Kiana started to become stronger. The longer time passes, the stronger Kiana becomes—the smaller Sirin’s winning chances would be.

It led to her orchestrating the huge mental flaw Kiana had during her Foundation Establishment breakthrough.

She failed again.

Their senses being shared now became her absolute disadvantage.

Sirin could see how Kiana cared, longed, and looked forward to every single meeting with Shi Tian. Worse, Shi Tian truly cared for her, just as Cecilia did to her.

Kiana, Sirin’s other self, found love and happiness. On the other hand, she was stuck with hatred, distrust, and disgust towards humanity.

Never had she felt the world being so unfair… until now.

Her mental state experienced drastic changes during the time of her confinement.

Jealousy, envy, and longing.

“...Why me?”

The two people did not stop after two kisses. They began to get caught up in their own world. Nothing was said between the two, but their actions carried on.

Sirin took the first place when it comes to being showered with dog food.

“Why..? Heuk…”

Her tears started to fall.

“Why won’t you let me disappear…”

The young girl’s cries echoed within the darkness.

*****

I am the first one to bail out.

Kiana’s soft breaths rang in my ears. Her face dug deep on my shoulder.

I don’t know how long we were like this. Kiana attacked, I counterattacked, and a cycle formed. It was the lips at first, then the cheek, neck…

The last thing I wanted to do is head to the late third grade bed. Who knows what will happen once we are there. We stayed on the stone platform.

The scent of her hair wafted to my nose. My mind is close to being filled with nothing but this Tuna.

A sudden urge came. I moved my right hand from her back to her head.

Her shoulders jolted before she calmed down. The head pat works wonders.

Another round of silence came. This time, it is more serene.

It continued until Kiana spoke up.

“...Hey.”

“Hm?”

“Never leave my side again.”

“I won’t.”

Her head looked upwards. Our height difference was magnified as time went on.

“That’s a promise.”

She let go of me.

Just then, her expression changed. The previous contentment is replaced with guilt.

“It’s her.”

Sirin..?

“She’s crying…”

Kiana sounded lost when she described Sirin’s current state.
