Doom Retrospective (Early Access)

Doom gave players the tools to weaponize its namesake. Here's how they managed to it for almost 30 years.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Retrospective - Update

Hey everyone. The THPS video might be a little late tonight for patrons, but I can confirm it'll be up for everyone on time tomorrow. This video took way longer than expected to finish, and I had to crunch to meet the deadline (still currently crunching). I apologize for the wait, this shouldn't happen again.

Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages - A Leap of Faith (Early Access)

In the past, I've discussed how trading quests and seeking out information can shape areas in a Zelda game. For Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, Hidemaro Fujibayashi and his team chose to implement their incredible new ideas and mechanics around this philosophy in an effort to channel the original Zelda. The result is a wildly entertaining, challenging, puzzling, and ultimately enjoyable couple of games that don't get the attention they deserve. They're not perfect, but they represent a ...

Luigi's Mansion Retrospective (Early Access)

The original Luigi's Mansion is a timeless classic that defines the word "replayable". But its initial impression on critics wasn't great, and it had to develop a cult following later on. Next Level Games then adapted the series into something brilliant of their own that could survive in the modern era. This video aims to discuss, critique, and otherwise document the evolution of Luigi's Mansion.

How I Fell in Love with Persona (Early Access)

This summer, I played through three Persona games for the first time. Here are my unfiltered, very casual initial thoughts on the games that single-handedly conditioned me to RPGs, and changed my life altogether. This isn't a very analytical video - this is just me reflecting on some games I really enjoyed.

Understanding the Music of Doom (Early Access)

Here's my video on the music of Doom, specifically Mick Gordon's work on the series, as a bit of a farewell to it. This is the first time I've released a video early for patrons, and I hope things go over well with you!

(IMPORTANT) Early Access to Videos Coming Soon for $3+ patrons

Hey everyone, wanted to lay out a change I'd like to make to the Patreon page thus far. This is a pretty substantial, albeit simple change, so listen up!

It's become quite clear to me that ad-free videos aren't going to be a viable reward for Patrons. My videos are too long for me to conceivably upload separate versions of each to different platforms. Instead, I'm going to do something I've held off on doing for a long time now - making videos available 24 HOURS before ...

Update on ad-free videos

Hey everyone, as you might have noticed by now the Team Fortress 2 video went live. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to find a work-around for this, as YouTube won't let me upload duplicate videos (even if they have a different filename or they're a copy), and Vimeo's default upload limit is only 500MB. I could upload it to Mega, but I only have so much space on there, so things might have to be deleted after a certain period of time.

I appreciate your patience while I figure this ...

(Long overdue) PATREON UPDATE

Hi everyone! I know this page isn't updated very frequently, and I'd like to change that. I've revamped a few things in order to benefit patrons further for their generous support thus far, and going forward.

First of all, the "Yellow Rupee" pledge has been deleted. In accordance with Patreon's new sales tax guidelines, it wouldn't have made sense to charge people for an extra tier. To be completely honest, anyone who has already pledged that much per month is absolutel...

This here is an extended version of the Portal retrospective with certain sequences being extended. I GREATLY prefer this version of the video, but unfortunately I can't monetize it due to copyright claims from the record label Valve re-released the Portal soundtracks under.

Getting My Dad Into Video Games - Half-Life (Chapter 1 - Unforseen Consequences)

Hey all! So before I go any further I want to explain where this is coming from. My Dad has a passing interest in certain video games, but he hasn't really sat down and played through a single-player narrative-driven game in his life. There were a few examples I thought of: Ocarina of Time, Halo, Deus Ex - a few examples of games that he would enjoy watching and playing, no matter which side of the coin he was on. But I decided that Half-Life was the perfect balance for him.

In this se...

What do YOU want out of this page?

Hey everyone!

Since 2019 began I've been thinking about how I want to change my Patreon to better reflect what the people willing to contribute actually want. And I figured the best way I could find out is to just ask! What do you guys want?

Of course, if you're willing to pledge, the reason you're doing so is because you want to support the channel. But I felt like I wasn't doing enough, and I want to know what I can do.

Let me know how you feel about the page! Thanks for y...

On Declines (again)

Attention patrons! Patreon was goofy once again this month, and in order to make sure your pledges go through, please make sure your bank account/PayPal info is correct. Otherwise, we have to leave it to the system to sort itself out.

Thanks for pledging, once again. Hopefully this isn't a repeat next month.

Quick Update Regarding the Podcast

Hi! So my bud KingK recently announced that him and I would be doing a podcast for his channel.

Even with this, the podcast here will still continue. Both will coexist and this one will be a bit more exclusive, as I'll be discussing projects that I've had on the backburner and the ins and outs of them and stuff like that. I can't really clog up the other one with my personal stuff, so that'll stay here.

That's the gist of it. Thanks for pledging!

New Reward Unlocked!

So Twitter seems to be a nice way of getting my thoughts on the latest bideo games and shit out there, but I very much prefer thorough posts.

Starting from today, all patrons will be able to view future posts where I document the games I've been playing, the shows I've been watching, the albums I've been hearing. Just a nice excuse to shoot the shit about the stuff I like/dislike.

Gonna be talking about Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor in the first one!

My Apologies

I'm really sorry about not fulfilling my promises with this Patreon page. At most, you guys get like one script a month, with barely any audio updates at all. I've been discouraged from making videos lately for a plethora of reasons, most of them I've discussed on Twitter, streams, etc. But at the heart of it all, I never want to stop making videos. So I just wanted to let you guys know, I'm about to turn things around.

The Cuphead script will be up this weekend, with the video coming soon aft...

It's been a while.

Haven't updated my Patreon page in a while with any rewards and whatnot. Prior to this, my only supporters were family members and I didn't take this seriously.

But in light of the recent YouTube boycott, I may be receiving new patrons. It's time to get back in the saddle again. Will be post my draft for $3 patrons soon for my next video, and $10 patrons will get to see my next marathon plan, as well as some extra goodies. Thanks for pledging as always!
