A lot is happening today, so the SITREP will be condensed, combat only, with the weather. We're constantly updating the map. We may have to go back to mini SITREPs a couple of times a day like we were publishing in June when the first phase of shaping and subordinate operations started.

The crack in the windscreen grew bigger in two places. The bigger story is in the Orikhiv Operational Area.
In our analysis, we've been recommending to watch Verbove, not Robotyne. Ukrainian forces have breached the first line of defense between the two settlements, making significant advances in the direction of Verbove, which we do not believe is the Ukrainian objective.
On July 26, 2023, in the SITREP, we outlined how this is a weak spot in the Russian defensive lines. Breach t...

Maybe.
In yesterday's SITREP, we reported that Russian milbloggers were freaking out about a large Ukrainian offensive starting in the area of Orikhiv. We were instantly skeptical because Russian milbloggers have periodically screamed, "large Ukrainian offensive" in this area since June 2022. They have either turned out to be completely untrue or operations of units that are between platoon and company-sized, committing recon in force, probing attacks, testing defenses, or taking advant...

Don't get too excited, but, Ukrainian forces made a number of tactically significant gains in the Bakhmut area of operation while holding off a number of Russian probing attacks in other areas.

Mikhail Polyakov, the head of the Telegram channel Kremlin Laundress and admin of BRIEF, Siloviki, and Nezygar arrested yesterday, was an FSB Colonel.
We reported in yesterday's SITREP they were arrested on extortion charges. Russian sources are reporting that Polyakov was doing business with other Pro-Kremlin channels outside of the scope of his handlers. In Russian speak, that indicates he wasn't paying his protection money from his side hustle income.
