The Private Military Company Wagner Group-aligned Telegram channel Gray Zone (not to be confused with the Twitter/X account and website) has confirmed that the company owned the Il-76 transport plane that crashed in Mali. This is the fifth Wagner-owned aircraft to fall out of the sky in Mali in the last three weeks.
The plane departed from Minsk, Belarus, with the unofficial Wagner channel claiming no mercenaries were onboard.

If you follow social media and have a feed full about Ukraine, you may be reading or hearing about how Ukrainian troops entered Novoprokopivka. We've seen the video of up to two squads, maybe a platoon in the settlement. They were ambushed and rendered combat destroyed.
We will not be sharing the video.
Don't try and read between the lines. Ukrainian forces are advancing east of Novoprokopivka. Russian commanders have brought in a lot of armor, which the analyst team universally b...

It's back - it is finally back. Since June 6, 96% of our subscribers patiently waited. Yes, this took more time than I or the rest of the team wanted. We have four people on the ground now in Ukraine, and we wanted to do things right. I have said even before the podcast started that I wanted to employ people in Ukraine. We are planning to add a fifth person in November if subscription growth restarts.
The breadth of coverage about what is happening in the theater of war, which expanded ...

The agreement requires the withdrawal of Armenian army units and Karabakh fighters to surrender all weapons. Armenia insists they have no military units in Azerbaijan. All parties and the Russian Foreign Ministry have confirmed that an agreement has been reached.

In an operational security breach, two photos have emerged from the graving dry dock in Sevastopol showing damage to the Rostov-on-Don before the aft area was tarped. The pixelation is due to some open-source intelligence drama (we are using the watermarked images; we're not involved in the drama and credit other people's work).
What have we learned?
The damage to the Rostov-on-Don is more extensive than initially believed, and the submarine is destroyed.

A couple of semi-reliable Russian sources are admitting that Russian troops withdrew from Klishchiivka. Russian forces launched a significant counterattack overnight, which failed. We're tracking the situation, and much like Urozhaine, which lingered for over a week as "no Russian troops" but not declared liberated, Klishchiivka is in a similar state. The General Staff has a strict set of requirements to call a settlement liberated, and that hasn't been reached. Russian troops still occupy th...

On September 14, 2023, insurgents in Sevastopol that documented activity of the Black Sea Fleet photographed a Bora class corvette departing the port. There were only two Project 1239 Bora Class vessels built. The Bora and the Sumum. Produced in the late Cold War, the ending of the project was caused due to over-engineering and the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The Bora has similar issues to the LLS Azov and spends most of its time at repair docks. The Sumum spends more time on patrol. ...

If you're a newer Patreon, there is a bit of history. When I've announced the analyst team is taking a break (or New Year's 2023, the whole team stepped away because everyone was completely cooked), I always write, "unless World War III breaks out." Inevitably - something happens, and there has been more than one occasion of panic analysis at a Starbucks or once - using a WiFi hotspot in a car at a highway rest area.
While fighting has continued, and it has been very intense in places, ...
