After leaving Konoha, Ren and his Suna tag-alongs did not rush. They ninja-hopped leisurely. It was a big difference.

If they were rushing, they could get to Suna in three days, just like Naruto did in canon. But at their pace, it was going to take them five days, maybe even an entire week of travel. And that was, too, much faster than the normal speed of civilian travel.

After Temari finally relented, Ren was dragged off by the excited Ino and Hinata right after they left Temari in the guest room next to their bedroom.

The following morning was a quiet affair. And a very awkward one for Ren, Hinata, and Temari. Ren had activated the soundproofing seal in their bedroom before they got wild yesterday. The door closed with an audible click, and Kankuro raised his head, face almost painfully scrunched, from the multitude of stressfully confusing documents strewn all over the table, only to see that his sister had come back to the hotel.

Ren flopped onto a couch with an audible groan, feeling exhausted as Temari sat down opposite him, all prim and proper, looking as if the endless meetings did not affect her.

They had just spent the last few hours in the council chambers, where the movers and shakers of Konoha argued mostly about barely important details.

Who the heck cared if the decoration on their wedding would follow Konoha or Suna tradition? Couldn't they do freaking both!?

Ch222. Welcome to Konoha

Ren not-very-subtly looked around with a slight sense of exasperation filling his chest as he and several other very important Konoha dignitaries were standing in the fairly large area near Konoha's gate, waiting for the Sunagakure delegation to arrive.

He inwardly grumbled at how tight and scratchy the ceremonial kimono Hiruzen insisted he wear was. But he didn't want to go through the whole song and dance of complaining and getting lectured again.

"Good morning." 

Ren heard Ino mumble as she entered the kitchen in his apartment with a big yawn and her right hand stuck under her pajama top, groggily rubbing her belly. She blearily looked around until she located a kettle full of coffee. Briefly stopping, Ino suddenly hastened her steps as if the coffee was a magnet pulling her to itself.

Ch220. A leap of faith

Before Danzo could get out of his shock at the answers and the complete disregard for Konoha he got from the two S-rank kunoichi, Ren and Hinata were gone. He was left alone with Ino, reeling as he realized what an absolute failure his last scheme was. He hadn't failed this hard in a long time, and it mentally shook him to the core, knowing that his actions made Konoha three S-rank enemies with nobody the wiser.

He... he needed to salvage the situation somehow! He had to send this intel...

Ch219. What the future holds

Ino beckoned Ren as she hugged his left side, while Hinata gave her an exasperated look and stepped behind Ren, putting her hand on his shoulder.

Ren reached toward Danzo, grasping his shoulder as the space swirled...

The next thing Danzo knew, he shivered in the cold breeze as he found himself standing on the top of the Hokage Monument.

"Space-time ninjutsu. You have a space-time ninjutsu!" He exclaimed toward Ren, the shock hitting him hard, and not even Ino's control coul...

Ch218. At least look me in the eyes

Ino finally relaxed her focus, her arms freely falling next to her body as she let out a long breath. Her face scrunched up from the overload of information she had gotten in the last hour, fourteen minutes, and thirty-seven seconds she had spent scouring Danzo's brain for his life story. The beginning of a headache was already forming, and Ino let out a moan when she felt Hinata's fingers gently push against her temples, pulsing with the oh-so-comforting medical chakra.

Ch217. Rooting out an issue 2

Preparing for the assault on Danzo's base was not easy.

Even just the first stage required over thirty shadow clones of Ino, Ren, and Hinata each. They didn't have that much time for preparation either, so they had to create as many clones as their chakra allowed them, put these in stasis seals, feed on a soldier pill, and squeeze out one more clone they could send to work in their stead before they had to rest for a day, feeling absolutely miserable and exhausted.
