I've finally started digging into learning 3D assets in Clip Studio Paint and it's been a long and rough road lol-- but I'm finally figuring out how to fluidly manipulate models! It's been really helpful at speeding up the penciling process for me. You can see from the pencils and the models I'm not using them 100% as reference, but they're super helpful with basic anatomy, placement, perspective, interaction, etc.. I hope this can help me become a faster cartoonist in the long run! 😤

Continuing life drawing! I think these were all slightly longer studies, like 2-5-ish minutes.
It’s been really nice to work with a pencil on paper, I’ve been working almost all-digital for a few years and I’m definitely rusty!
If you’re interested in trying your hand at life drawing studies, these were all done from free online resources! There’s a bunch of channels on YouTube that have timed model poses and everything!

I joined a small group of friends in a “life drawing” chat, where we all simultaneously watch the same video of a model doing various timed poses and do voice chat together. It’s been a really nice social hangout in a time where everyone’s been pretty isolated and feeling kind of stagnant.
I haven’t drawn in my sketchbook in at least a year and I haven’t done actual model drawing in even LONGER!!! So this has been really nice for a change!

I tried giving a shot to drawing the Minotaur (from Barbarous chapter 5) as a New Years ox but I'm not so sure how well it turned out-- the Minotaur is such a tragic figure I don't know if he comes across as auspicious!
That said, The Year of the Ox is my (Yuko's) year, so I hope it's a good one, and to you all as well! ❤️🐃🧧
