Chiaki sticker progress
Here's a progress gif of how I finalized the Chiaki sticker for the Chapter 4 Kickstarter reward! I really enjoy doing these kinds of illustrations, faux screen prints with little bits of off-register overlap look really pleasing to me.

sketching a kickstarter reward: chiaki sticker
I haven't been sketching on the iPad much lately so I haven't had progress videos, but I did this sketch recently so I wanted to share it! The Barbarous Chapter 4 Kickstarter backers voted that they wanted a sticker of Chiaki as a reward, so I got to design her as a matchbox-style sticker! I think the final version came out pretty cute, I'll share that with you all later!
While I'm here, the Pledgemanager for the kickstarter went live this week so if you backed the Chapter 4 kickstarter...

Sticker sheet design: MAWS!
We've been sitting on these tiling maw designs for a while now (for a project that still hasn't happened whoops haha) and I was really excited to be able to show them off somewhere! I'm a big fan of geometric shapes, especially so for stickers because they can look really clean and eye-catching when they're used.
These are going to be a kickstarter backer reward, but will eventually make their way to our online shop. I'm excited to see the final prints for these!

Clyde sticker: color mockup / first lineless pass
I wanted to share the next steps of the Clyde sticker - after cleaning up the sketch, I roughly dropped in colors, then did a clean pass of them all where all the colors were separated on their own layers. Afterwards I'll do a "de-registered" pass, where I slightly offset all the colors (to fake a screenprint look) and add a texture.

I finished a big NDA freelance project so now I'm back onto designing kickstarter rewards! The Barbarous Chapter 4 collection kickstarter backers voted for a sticker of Clyde as a reward (the former-feral cat who lives in the basement), so I'm designing him today!
The bottom-left version is the one I decided to polish for final, so all the overlapping circles are there to measure out harmonious shapes.

I completely finished coloring this page and then realized that the palette was TOO SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS SCENE AND THE SCENE TRANSITION SEGUED POORLY!!! SO I COMPLETELY RECOLORED IT AAAA
I'm actually really happy with how the new version of the scene came out (greener teals, shading with red instead of purple - it now feels like it's the middle of a hot, bright day). [slightly NSFW!] F!Byleth from FE:3H in COLOR
A few people seemed interested so I colored the sketch of Byleth from last week haha - it was really nice to just finish something for the heck of it. The brush I used is my usual pencilling brush (Kyle Webster's "sketch pencil rough" — it's also the Barbarous pencil brush, I like it a lot because it has a very natural mechanical pencil feel to it) but it looks pretty nice as a "finishing" tool as well! Maybe I'll play with this more in the future.
We're still playing through Golden D...

Ananth and I started playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses RIGHT at the beginning of quarantine and after playing for a tiny bit most evenings we're nearly half-way through our second play-through. (We were advised to do Blue Lions > Golden Deer > Black Eagles, so we're on our deer run!)
