Kintaro and the Bear
So I was trying to figure out why Percy's outfit in chapter 3 looked so nostalgically familiar to me ... and then I realized, she's kind of dressed like Kintaro from Japanese folklore??? And there's like a handful of figurines of Kintaro strewn throughout my parents' house that they've gotten as gifts from relatives, it must've stuck in my head.
Anyway here's my cool drawing 👶🏻🐻

Since the Faerie Fire kickstarter has been announced I wanted to share some of the work I put into the cover illustration. Here's some of the cover thumbnails I did for the book! I was given a long but fairly open-ended list of attributes and references had a lot of fun designing this character!

I've been going through this year's art and I'd completely forgotten about a lot of drawings from the beginning of the year, lost in layers of other photoshop drawings.
This year I largely stopped drawing for pleasure beyond the occasional fanart, which is a bummer. The year just took a lot of drive out of me, and I already draw so much daily that I wound up putting that extra energy into other aspects of my life.
I hope I can get back to personal art in 2018. See you next year!
