New cover sneak peek!

Here is the cover for my newest book, Unrestrained Healer!

Plans for Feb 9-14

Well, I finished Healer Book 5 this week! I'll be beginning to release additional chapters to my $2 and $5 Patrons starting on Sunday, and I'll be finishing up with edits and revisions Sunday through Tuesday, before I send it out to beta-readers. I'll probably be taking a few days off after that, with the hope that I'll start Fusionist Book 8 by Friday, but it might be on Sunday of the week after.

Next week, at least according to my narrator, the audiobook for Corps InterFusion will ...

Plans for Feb 2-7

It's getting closer to the end! I'm hoping to have this book wrapped up by next Friday, as the climax portion of the story is happening now. Once it is wrapped up, I'll begin releasing chapters to my $2 and $5 Patrons, so that you'll eventually have them all before it releases on Kindle in March.

For next week, I have some tax stuff (yuck) to do on Sunday, but I'm planning on writing all of Monday-Friday. Coming up in the future, Corps InterFusion (Magical Fusion Book 7) should be al...

Healer Book 5 -- Chapter 33

Chapter 33

“Die!”

Thaden sighed.  “Please, just stop.  Seriously.”

None of the Wardens listened to him, of course, and he killed them all – again.  This was the eighth time in a row that they had immediately attacked, and he was forced to kill them.  Thankfully, his 30-second counter on killing another target for his bonuses to keep going on his equipment was reset each time he killed the powerful Charee, but this time he decided to...

Healer Book 5 -- Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Thaden had to harden his heart as he moved from town to town in the area, finding either the buildings and the people inside being demolished and eaten when he arrived or, which was more likely, stumbling upon a scene where he was already too late.  He ended up resurrecting a single Charee that he discovered the remains of while he was finishing off the rest of the Ogres he confronted.

As for any Contenders, either they had fled before the impos...

Chapter 31

It didn’t take long to reach the first group of Ogres rampaging across the land after he had changed out his gear, as Thaden had only gone a half-mile from the destroyed town before he set himself down.  The group he saw moving across the gently rolling hills was almost identical in composition as the one that he’d just killed; the biggest difference was that they weren’t currently in the middle of tearing down walls and buildings, eating people as the...

(This is the final chapter for my $5 Patrons, at least for now; once the book is complete, I will be releasing them until you have the whole thing available to read before it comes out on eBook)

Chapter 30

In front of everyone in Region #1, as well as the Aelveen with Thaden, was a Quest notification that sent a spike of fear through his entire body.

Healer Book 5 -- Chapter 29

Chapter 29

The solution to Thaden’s problem with accessing his Growth items while in a dungeon was so simple he felt like an idiot once he figured it out, but it still took an innocent question by Sadia once they were in the second Adversary-infested dungeon to spark the idea.  It was another Medial difficulty dungeon, which meant that there wasn’t much chance of the Party having any trouble eliminating all the monsters even without him, and he had lamented that he...

Plans for Jan 26-31

I got 10 more chapters done this week, which isn't too bad considering that some of them were a bit bigger than my usual 3k words. I'm hoping to get just as many done next week, with a hopeful finish date by February 7th!

On Sunday, I have to spend some time looking at what I want on the cover and come up with a title (always the two hardest parts of writing a book, in my opinion) and get that information to my cover designer. The rest of the week I should be writing the whole time! View Post

Healer Book 5 -- Chapter 28

Chapter 28

“Let’s get going, then,” Thaden said, waving toward the exit.

He had been up relatively early the next morning, but he took his time and relaxed as much as he could before he did some food shopping, refilling his stored meals in his Inventory and even packing in a bunch extra, as he didn’t know when he would be able to really focus on such mundane tasks in the coming days.  After that, he relaxed in his room before he waited for his ne...

(Another reward/stat chapter! This one took me a while again, but what you've been waiting for is finally done! Note: I noticed some errors in my equipment bonus calculations for earlier in this book, so it might appear higher or lower in this chapter than what it was before.)

Chapter 27

While he was tired, Thaden didn’t want to sleep just yet, especially since it was only late afternoon.  After ensuring that the Aelveen were properly taken care...

Chapter 26

“Report!  Did you just recently… perform a check of this dungeon to ensure it is in full working order?”

Thaden’s confidence was consequently high after his latest experience in The Mines of Khanordun, so he wasn’t necessarily worried about the flying Charee who just landed in front of them, but he also wasn’t prepared to be completely ignored.  For some reason, he expected all of the Wardens – as he was 99% sure these newcomers were...

Chapter 24

As much as she didn’t want to admit to her weakness, the lengthy nap Fer’la’vina took curled up in the soft grass underneath the gently blowing leaves of the serene forest Thaden had brought them to had been amazing.  As she sat up and stretched, the physical and mental exhaustion she had previously felt had significantly faded, letting her mind fully process exactly what had happened to her for the first time.

Despite being alive for so lo...

Healer Book 5 -- Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Though his departure from the Aelveen was rather abrupt, and with everything going on with the Adversary right now harkening a crisis of epic proportions, Thaden’s trip to the dungeon wasn’t just a selfish desire to check out a Maximal difficulty Intermediate dungeon without the risk of a Nexus Corrupter or a Legion Commander popping out to mess everything up.

At least, it wasn’t only a selfish desire to check out this dungeon that caus...

Chapter 22

The four remaining Aelveen stood in front of him, their expressions constantly shifting from anger to shame, and none of them would even look in his direction.  He felt like he was some sort of teacher chastising some misbehaving students; in this case, the mistakes they had made ended up with one of their number dying.  Fortunately, after searching through the rest of Sadia’s front pocket, finding a single toe of Fer’la’vina she hadn’t unloaded...

Chapter 21

Taking the stairs two at a time, Thaden encountered the spot where he’d seen Gen’or’fein being enveloped by the prismatic projectile that had hit him.  He briefly looked for any piece of the poor Aelveen that might have survived, because if even a chunk of him had survived, his Resurrection spell would likely be able to bring him back to life.  It had worked for Corinna, after all, so he figured it would work in a situation like t...

Chapter 20

Thaden led the way with Sadia bounding along at his side, the 5 Aelveen following behind them.  He was no longer worried that they would betray him by attacking him randomly as they traveled, especially after what they had just went through.  That didn’t mean that they wouldn’t try something in the future, but for now they were acceptably cowed.

It was far from the situation he wanted, as he’d rather they all get along without such int...

Chapter 19

“It’s you!” the Aelveen shouted as soon as she regained her full facilities after being Resurrected.  Lyn’ar’deia ran up and grabbed him, picking him up in a full bear-hug type lift, before putting him down just as quickly.  He was so stunned that he didn’t even try and stop it, and he was speechless afterwards.  “After seeing what you did during that Horde Siege Challenge, I just knew that you’d come back for me—...

Plans for Jan 19-24

I tried to get another chapter done today, but only managed to get 2/3 of it done due to an extended promo I did for the Healer Book 4 audiobook that came out this week. Regardless, I made a little more progress on the story, even if it wasn't as much as I wanted; with no releases next week, as well as nothing big in my personal life planned, I'm hoping to knock out around 11-12 chapters next week to make up for this week.

As a reminder, $2 Patrons have access to 15 chapters of the n...

Chapter 18

Fer’la’vina opened her eyes in confusion, even as she continued to bleed out from the horrific damage she’d already taken.  Her Physicality was high enough that she could already feel her body repairing itself and slowing down her Health loss, which convinced her that she would survive if she wasn’t hit again in the next minute or so.

But that begged the question of why she wasn’t dead.  Her open eyes immediately landed up...

Chapter 17

The dungeon they entered was a hellscape of epic proportions, but it wasn’t just the environment Fer was talking about.  While the volcanos, dark storm clouds, and barren landscape certainly set the scene, it was the hundreds—no, thousands—of monster corpses she could see starting near the entrance and extending toward the tower in the distance that really completed the picture.

In her time as a Warden and even before that, she had...

Chapter 16

The inside of The Badlands dungeon was completely unlike his previous experiences in a dungeon inhabited by an entity of the Adversary.

The Descent Into Darkness Dungeon had been full of mind-altering monsters that were designed to mimic the original inhabitants, but once he was able to see past the illusion that they had covering them, they hadn’t been very powerful or threatening.  The Soul Harvester that ended up being located at the bottom ...

Well, I didn't get as many chapters as I wanted done this week, at only 8 instead of 10, but I'm still happy with the progress! Next week, unfortunately, will probably be very similar in chapter output -- but for a good reason :) I'm approving the audiobook for Unaffiliated Healer in just a few minutes, which means that it will likely publish over the next few days; as a result, I'll be promoting it next week, which always takes me a little away from my writing for a bit.

Plans for Jan 5-10

Healer Book 5 has begun along with the New Year! It's going a little slow right now as I've been trying to wrap up some of the more informational stuff from the end of the last book, but I'm finally starting to really get back into the story. My goal next week is to knock out a full 10 chapters by Friday, with another 10 chapters each week afterwards. If everything goes well, I'll have it done in early February, when I can move onto Fusionist Book 8 to finish out that series.

Updated Patron Tiers

As previously mentioned, I've updated my Patron tiers to better reflect the changing circumstances with the soon-to-be-ended run of the Fusionist books on Royal Road. These are the main changes:

$2 Tier -- Instead of 10 chapters ahead of the Fusionist Royal Road chapters, it is now access to 15 chapters for any story I have posted on Patreon. The 15 chapters is static until I've finished writing the entire book, and then additional chapters will be given access to over...

Plans for Dec 29-Jan 3

I hope everyone had a great holiday week -- and will have a great new year, as well! Coming up, I'll be starting Healer Book 5 on Monday, with the first chapter likely available on Tuesday.

In addition, next week I'll be revamping the Patreon tier benefits to reflect some changes previously mentioned; basically, I'll be converting from a Royal Road advanced chapter-based benefit tier to one that will be solely on reading advanced chapters of any of my works in progress. The reason ...
