A new art dump
Firstly! A re-imagining of Barney the Dinosaur as a regular t rex. Just hangs out with the kids and tries to look out for them.

Starting another book project--please help!
It's going to be about the construction of anthro bodies and melding the human and other animal elements.
So if there's anything you specifically find confusing about a 'furry' body, do tell! I'll do some research and include it.
Three sketches
I've been busy with that big commission mostly, but I am taking some time out to do sketches, too. Here's three of them done on some new paper I ordered from DickBlick. I took a chance and ordered a whole ream without trying it but it paid off. Very good paper for drawing! Does not take wet media at all well, but that's alright. I'll use it chiefly for pencil and ink.

Practice for fun
The first one is just me playing with form and anatomy. It SHOULD have a drop shadow but I didn't like how it was looking so I'm just leaving it.
Also fiddling with color (as usual!)

Into the Wilderness
Spent today finishing up packaging up my FC art show and starting a painting. Not sure when or how I'm going to work on this in the future so I'll go ahead and show you now.

I'm having this big upswing in art-making juice at an utterly bizarre time of the year. Usually I'm a pathetic lump in winter. I can contribute it to several chemical changes, I think, as well as habit alterations. It's a freakin miracle, at any rate. I've been waiting for my burn-out to abate for years.

I don't care for those dog noses when I'm drawing them realistically but they're really fun on toony versions.

The idea of simplifying shapes down to a cartoon is super interesting to me but I'm just not GREAT at it??? I think if I were to do it in 3D I'd have more success. Or if I really worked hard at pinning down one style rather than fooling around with really drastically different shapes. IDK, I find the strong contrasts really interesting.
