By now, we all know how Captain America was frozen and brought back in the Avengers, but the more interesting story is WHY Marvel decided to revive the Sentinel of Liberty. Why would Stan Lee take a chance and bring back a hero whose popularity died out after World War II? Simply put, because we wanted him too!

Charles Xavier is arguably the most powerful psychic on the planet, but man does he have some bad luck. Every time he regains the use of his legs, the comic book status quo takes away his ability to walk yet again, and puts him right back in a wheelchair. So how is it that Professor X became paralyzed from the waist down? Let's talk about it, nerd!

We are going to vote on next month's comic book reading like last time. We have it narrowed down to two possible books. Just let me know which one you'd be more interested in reading, and the majority vote will be what we choose.
First up, one of my personal favorites. Moon Knight! Specifically, Warren Ellis' 6-issue run that contains my absolute favorite comic of 2014. It's brutal, it's fun, it's bizarre, it's a really fast-paced and entertaining read.
The second o...

It's pretty standard fare when we see superheroes beating up villains in comics or movies, but we're starting to see a bit more of heroes vs other heroes. We want to know why is that?
Today, we're discussing the reasons why we think we want to see Captain America take on Iron Man in Civil War, or Batman versus Superman in some other movie whose name I can't remember.
Is it because we like to see the script flipped around so that there's more uncertainty in who will ...

We've seen Green Arrow and the Flash team up recently on their respective CW shows, but did you know that the 90s Flash show was also supposed to involve Green Arrow? It's true... kinda. On today's Tie-In, we're discussing Unlimited Powers, the show that never got made!
Tie-Ins are quick and snappy videos that take a look at some fun facts and concepts surrounding comics!

The Flash has been known to use his powers of super speed to travel through time. As we all know, when you travel through time you need to be careful not to create any temporal paradoxes. Flash comics showcase (pun?) a few great examples of time travel paradoxes like the Ontological Paradox, the Predestination Paradox, and the famous Grandfather Paradox as well. And we can't talk about them without also discussing the Reverse-Flash himself, Professor Zoom!

Fellow comic book YouTuber Sal from the channel ComicPOP drops in this week to talk about how he got started writing his own comics! We discuss things like finding and working with talented artists, the daunting task of writing the actual script, and much more.
We're also talking about what got him into comics growing up, how he started his YouTube channel, and coming up with the perfect names for the different shows he produces. It's a terrific episode, and I hope you enjoy it!

There's no doubt that Superman helped kickstart the superhero comic book, but what if his creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, never got into the comic book business? Would Superman never have existed, or would someone else come along and independently create a similar super-character? Were popular comic book characters like Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man inevitable?

Comic books are full of superheroes will extraordinary powers, but there is also the power of simply being a comic book character. There are endless tropes and clichés in the world of comics, and we're bringing them into the real world!
Things like splash pages that tell you when something important is happening, having perfect photographic recall of past events in a third person perspective, and, of course, the famous comic book retcon. And even just little stuff like people havin...

With Marvel spotlighting Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and DC's Arrow headed towards its fourth season, I'm curious about why superhero archers appear to be pretty popular these days. Is there a secret behind the success of Oliver Queen, Clint Barton, or other comic book characters who fight with bows and arrows?

We're searching our respective headcanons and workshopping some fan theories surrounding comic book movies and tv shows!
Is Falcon really a bad guy? Is Thor's hammer sentient? Do the Tim Burton Batman movies exists in the same timeline as the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy? And most importantly, is Flash his own grandfather?!
All these questions and more will not be answered on today's NerdSync Podcast, but we will talk about them as if we have the authority ...

What is a superhero without a colorful costume to fight crime in? Today, we're looking at the visual shorthand that is COLOR which artists use to tell us who is a good guy and who is a bad guy. Superheroes are generally sporting costumes with the primary colors red, blue and yellow, whereas villains are usually seen in the secondary colors green, purple, and orange.
We're also talking about what black and white comics can bring to the table, and perhaps what color inside of comic bo...

I think we're finally going to start selling t-shirts! We were approached by TeePublic (created by CollegeHumor and Busted Tees) to create a merch store on their site where people like you can go and buy t-shirts!
The way it works is that we can use other people's designs on our store, we get a small commission and the original artist also gets a cut (since they did all the work in the first place). However, we also have the option to upload our own designs, which is what I would lo...

Lastly, Bryce finishes up with a quiz about the many good, bad, and often weird romantic relationships between comic book characters!

It's an age old debate between comics fans: Marvel vs. DC! maybe it's just me, but I feel like Marvel superheroes tend to feel more like street level heroes, while DC superheroes are portrayed as gods. While that's just all opinion, what if there was objective evidence that proved that the heroes in the DC universe were stronger than those in the Marvel universe?
What do you think? Are DC comic book characters stronger than Marvel comic book characters? Let's talk about it in the comments below...

We're creating our own 'What If' and 'Elseworlds' stories about our favorite comic book characters! Hey guys! We're setting up for next month's Comic Book Club. On the last one, we decided that we'd leave what we're going to read next up to a vote. The three that we have narrowed it down to are:
Moon Knight vol. 1 (2014)
Batman: Under the Red Hood
Doctor Strange: The Oath
How I want to do the voting is by having you list the comics in the comments below from 1-3. The order you have them in represents which ones you are the most interested in. For example, if you want to read Batman the most,...

Bruce Wayne underwent an immense amount of training before he became Batman, but it seems members of the Bat Family naturally have some of those skills.
