I am incapable of making a character without some tragic backstory.
I've had a bit of interest in commissions recently, so I figured it was time to actually do up a nice picture for it. BUT that means I need to pick a character for it, and since I do offer pinups/NSFW commissions that means I'll be doing a clothed/unclothed version (Even though I'll just be censoring/cropping it for tumblr but oh well you guys will get the GOODS).
So I figured I'd put it to a vote for which of my OCs would grace the commission pricelist. Consider this an extra pin...

Update: Woohoo All colored! The below blurbs have also been finished. This is it!
Wanted to have at least a face to all the big names for Ostia's lore. This project ended up being a bit more involved than I expected but oh well! I really wanted to make something I'd be excited about interacting with for a while yet, so I hope the fanfare and effort is worth it.
I'll just be updating this post with the finished piece and full lore pieces in the coming days.

Anyway here's the sketchy design for R'tan. I don't think I'll be cleaning up with reference, as it does what I need it to do just as is.
I love doing character designs like this, just working upwards off an initial sketch and not having to worry about ever getting it fully cleaned up

Another one!
I'm excited, this character has two cybernetic arms with scrolling runes/writing on them. It'll be fun, I think I'll be trying a few different things to get it to look holographic so that'll be fun to learn.
Lines next. Thankfully there were lots of images to work with for the outfits so the cleanup was quick!

Working on a commission piece and figured I'd post a snapshot of the process I do for clients who do not have predefined character designs.
First pass is based off of written descriptions and visual elements/inspirations only. Usually, for this pass, I just do chest up, as getting faces right is most important and outfit revision can be caught in the initial sketch pass.
The second pass is after the designs have been looked at. I update my own notes, change anything on the design...

Gosh, this has been so difficult. Have a sketchy interlude as I puzzle things out in front of your eyes.
I'm VERY torn on what I want Ostia's lore to be outside of our little 4 session interlude.
I really like Ostia and, considering her station as a Knight Scion, wanted to take the opportunity to actually have a character who could reasonably actually interact with Astartes and not have it be wild in-universe.

Some works in progress! Taking the day to do some pinups of Ostia and just some sketching in general. Gotta decompress a bit and do some stuff for me.

Ok I will be honest: I've never actually watched The Owl House. But I just.... There is something about this character design that just REALLY does it for me. Its perfect. I live for it.

Now, I know what you're all thinking looking at this motley crew, so let me answer some of them.
4? Yeah Knights usually deploy in Lances of 3, but only Butch and Ostia have seen real real combat so they've been given two novices to supervise. The Forge World they are trying to liberate is also quite treacherous so all Lances are being deployed with an extra unit if possible.
Gregory's jaw? Its iron because his glass one broke. Speaking of Marmalard, his family made their fortun...
