IDOL KNIGHTS: Soralie design sheet

hello!

This will be a first look at one of the projects I have going on. I won't talk much about it yet (because there's not much to say or show), but I wanted to share at least this concept sheet. Soralie is to be  the main character and face of the project and its universe, so I spent a while agonizing over what she should look like. I don't think it's totally final either, but she's getting there, for sure.

There's a handful of other characters like this in the works that I hope ...

Well, I don't paint often, so it ended up taking a while. But I think I learned a lot in the process, so that's okay. I hope you like it. I'll have the hi-res and PSD of this in the May reward pack.

April 2017 rewards out! + upcoming plans

Hi! I just sent out April's rewards. Got up a little late today, so sorry for the delay. Yesterday was kind of rough thanks to seasonal allergies, but today seems like it'll be okay.

This month I should be ending the GJbu and Yama no Susume sets. I also want to make as much progress on storyboards as I can, and maybe even start finalizing some pages if I can.

Aoi, who was the first, took something like four hours in one sitting. This took a lot more time, maybe twice as much over a few days or so, but the result is a lot nicer, I think.

I didn't think I'd be able to paint those rocks very well either, but I think I did okay. Getting good at painting is something I'd like to do someday, so things like that are little steps I've been taking along the way. 2017-04-27 05:10:50 +0000 UTC View Post

hello, april updates

Hello!

Well, updates have been a bit sparse this month, but I promise it's not because I'm slacking off!

Aside from doing the usual drawings + commissions, I also have a couple of things going on that I haven't really talked about too much. They're still fairly small and I haven't yet made enough progress on either to announce them to the world, but I wanted to let at least the patrons of Patreon know about it all.

I was working on storyboards for a couple of days before the weekend, but it was going kind of slowly so I took a break with this. I hope I learn to draw faster soon.

Incidentally, I have to say I really like the look of these G-pen + mechanical pencil brushes used together.

For a couple of weeks now I've been inching towards some stuff I've had planned for a while... namely illustrating some short stories that I've previously written.

This is for one of them. It's a story about some girls and both the strength and fragility of a heart, or something like that. The next thing I have to do is start storyboards. It will be a first for me, so I hope it goes smoothly. I hope you'll find some interest in it, as well.

For the $5 tier rewards on March 1st, I'll probably give out this one (I have other ones in store, but this is the one I've advanced the most). It's just some drawings of girls, but I did pick up a bit more about lighting and stuff like that, so the PSD might be interesting if you want to take a look at the layers and see what they do.

Changes & special notice for January 2017

Hi all,

I've been reworking my Patreon lately, revisiting the pledge tier costs and rewards. I've come up with some changes that I'm going to try to explain here as briefly as possible.

CHANGES TO REWARD TIERS:

Amongst other things, I have to say I really like the general color scheme of her design. Kind of like Mao from GJ-bu, whose appearance on promo art at the time compelled me to watch the show in the first place.
