It's my birthday!

I'm 30 years old today. Still a weeb, still a rabid cosplayer, still 18 at heart. I feel super blessed and thankful to see 30, especially in times as turbulent as these. Quarantine Update

RPG Cocktails: Phoenix Down

Ahh, the ever faithful Phoenix Down. A surefire way to save your life, as well as the lives of your party members, so that your monster-slaying, dungeon-crawling RPG adventure can continue without worry. Always make sure to have some of these babies on hand! As in... a few hundred.

RPG Cocktails: Elixir

Elixirs have always been that one health item you can hardly have enough of. They're normally harder to find and more expensive to buy, but always worth the effort when you're thrust into battle!

Elixir Ingredients: 

2 oz. honeysuckle vodka

1/2 oz. ginger liqueur 

1/2 oz. lemon juice

2 tsp. honey simple syrup

1 oz. Lemon-Lime Powerade

Ether Cocktail

Ahh, the mighty Ether... The unsung hero of many an RPG. Ether potions restore your MP (magic points), in most cases, and sometimes help boost other stats, depending on what game you're playing. This little beauty consists of:

1 oz. Citrus Vodka 

1 oz. Elderflower liqueur 

1 oz. Mountain Berry Powerade

1/2 oz. simple syrup

A dash of pearl dust

A few pebbles of blue rock sugar (the dark blue layer on the bottom)

Fangs

I swear, as cool as fangs look, they are a pain to wear! The fangs I used for Barto are the largest pair that I own and they feel insanely cumbersome, but they're just so darn aesthetically pleasing to me! Gaaaahhh!

Cosplay is for everyone <3

There has been lots of bullying and toxicity in the cosplay community lately. It all began when a black cosplayer shared her Nezuko cosplay on Twitter and received boatloads of hateful and cruel comments. Sadly, this isn't anything new. Black cosplayers have struggled for acceptance and equal treatment for years. We're more or less used to it, but it doesn't make the hate any easier to endure.

An exercise in positivity

I cannot begin to express how hyped I am for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake to drop. I've been a Final Fantasy and JRPG nerd for more than half of my life. As soon as I saw Tifa's look for the Remake, I knew right then that I wanted to cosplay her. She's a strong, capable woman and I love characters like her. The idea to do a Tifa boudoir set came after my actual cosplay was completed, and trust me, releasing this took guts.

Angry Nezuko-chan!

Notice anything? :D I wanted to create a more defined makeup look for Nezuko by attempting to make the veins that appear on her forehead when she's angry. This is the result... Yeah... While these ones aren't perfect, now that I've done them I have a better idea of how to make them look even nicer in the future. Tifa Lockhart Boudoir

Nana Shimura (complete cosplay)

I had such a blast this weekend at Anime Weekend Atlanta with all my friends, both old and new. I debuted my complete Nana Shimura cosplay on Saturday and it was very well received. Thank you so much to everyone who come over to say hello!

Nana Shimura Belt Progress

Once I got all the pieces of the belt cut out, I applied two coats of plastidip to give the craft form some durability. I let the liquid plastic dry on the foam overnight. The following day, I used Barge brand liquid contact cement to glue all the smaller, detail pieces onto the larger piece. Barge is a damn good brand of contact cement for crafting, but you can also use some brands of wood glue. 

Next, I'll be applying a base coat of paint on the buckle and dry-brushing gold metal...

Nezuko [Demon Slayer]

 Demon Slayer is definitely my favorite new anime and Nezuko is, hands down, my favorite character so far (next to Inosuke). Nezuko is my first cosplay from the series, though I'm definitely planning to cosplay more of its characters in 2020.  I felt super cute in her costume and I absolutely can't wait to scurry around as Nezuko on Friday at AWA!

Crafting Nana Shimura's Belt

I'll be debuting my Nana Shimura cosplay at AWA and I'm super excited! I'm making her belt buckle myself and I'm pleased with how it's turning out so far. I've made the pattern, cut it out in craft foam, and weathered the craft foam. Now to plasti-dip, glue all the pieces down, and apply paint! More pics of this process coming tomorrow!

So,  besides photos of my costumes, there are a ton of things that I really want to feature on  my Patreon. Drink pictures, drink recipes, bar-tending tips, as well as cosplay crafting and painting tips! There's so much I want to share that I can hardly organize my thoughts, y'all! 

For the month of October, though, I think I'm going to focus on cosplay photos and basic bar-tending tips that everyone can do at home, easy-peasy. I hope it works out! ;3;
