Patreon Pinup - Paya (Process Video)

For this piece, I went with a different software than before. I normally use Clip Studio Paint, but I decided to mix things up this time with Paint Tool SAI. The process remains relatively similar, though, especially in the case of lineart.

I mostly work with large, rough, gestural shapes to get the idea of the movement of the character down on the first pass, and then touch up the linework and details through several passes before finally going over it with an ink brush. Also drawing the shapes in large exaggerated forms helps to make the poses more dynamic and expressive, from personal experience.

I hope this video showing off my process helps to show what I mean. I've enclosed a link to the Dropbox folder where you can find the video (since the above GIF doesn't play the full video, for whatever reason)

Update - Patreon Pinup / Paya

Hey, folks!

So the winner of the latest Zelda-themed Pinup Poll was Paya. And here's the status on that print as it stands:

I finished one version of the piece, but upon revisiting it, it wasn't as good as I would have liked it to be. So I'm going back to the drawing board for another go at the piece, but I will definitely post a preview of what that piece looked like.

Also the new version will have to be slightly delayed because of Montreal Comic Con this weekend (July 5-7). Once I'm back from that, I should be able to continue work on it then.

As for the next Pinup Poll, I'm debating a few ideas for the next pinup theme. Either food or another Pokemon Gijinka might be the end result. You can never go wrong with Pokemon Gijinka!

Pinup Poll - Zelda Girls

HEY EVERYONE!!! It's time for my second Patreon Pinup Poll! This month's theme is Zelda Girls. It was hard coming up with a good variety of girls from across several games and narrowing them down to just 5 choices (SERIOUSLY TOO MANY GOOD ZELDA GIRLS TO CHOOSE FROM!!!), but I decided on these five.

And it is done! The rogue archer that is Gijinka Decidueye! I have enclosed with this pinup several attached progress pics to show my steps in order, if you're curious to see that sort of thing. Can't wait to draw the next Pinup this month!

Patreon Pinup - Decidueye Gijinka (WIP)

The winner of my first-ever Gijinka Poll was Decidueye by an astounding ... uh, one vote. BUT STILL, it's a first poll!

Currently laid out her grayscale values for this one before applying color. I don't normally work this way with colors, but it's a well-known trick to lay out everything in grayscales first to both compose and map out colors. The only things missing in this print are the bowstring and the background trees' branches, which will come in due time.

Also I know it's a bit classic to draw Decidueye as a rogue archer, but personally, it's classic for a reason. Hot damn, is drawing badass rogue women cool!

Anyways, the next update will be the final version! I'm looking to show off some more tips on what went into this drawing down the line, too, so look forward to that!

Update #001 - Streaming

Howdy, y'alls! So currently my Twitch stream schedule is in the works. As it stands, the best day I've settled on for streams would be Sundays, starting as soon as this Sunday (May 26) or as late as next Sunday (June 2). The time frame would be between 5:00 - 7:00 pm EST. All I need to do is troubleshoot my streaming setup by then and everything should be a go!

Thanks for your patience with this. This is a new schedule for me, and I'm slowly figuring things out.
