My commission work has some downtime, decided to see how much I can do in a short amount of time so I did a casual Akali!
Might come back and finish this eventually ;_; im so busy but at least I have a roof over my head.
It's done! My favourite part that I wanted to die over for this piece was the axe/spear and the wall etchings.

I consulted with a few people about wether I should the runes or not. Most have said it made the background look really busy and almost seem like its part of the texture. Thus making the whole piece look flat.
I still kind of like it? I dunno. So here it is if you like this one better.

It's done! There were so many design choices that were added and changed as the piece was being produced. The engraving on Rakuyo itself and the embroidery was the most time consuming of all DD:
Im not sure if this will be my Halloween piece for the year, there's still some time left before we hit Nov 1st and everyone's gone full christmas by then. We'll see how it goes!

Been extremely busy the last 2 weeks working on this for a client for a certain special event thats coming up soon here in Australia. Hush hush.

I made the mistake of thinking that the pixel dimensions I was provided could be subdivided evenly like an A4 paper = 2 x A5 when you fold it.
I was wrong, very wrong. So to compromise I tried to make a variant fit into the given dimensions which involved just...ro...
I've been going through a very tough week and earlier today I had a huge incident involving one of my greater phobias.
When I shared it with friends, I expected comfort and support for the situation I was going through. Instead I was met with jokes and attempts of people trying to trigger my phobia further.
Anxiety and panic attacks soon followed after and I had a brief time of not being able to function. To combat that, I used my pain as motivation to paint something in that time...

I really tried to go for that old renaissance painting look where the paintings have built up years of aging resin and a bit of it has chipped away and someone left a canvas on top of it from being in the storage.
So much dirt went into this its insane lmao, there's more detail in aged exposed paintings than there are in fresh new ones. I still think it could be a little bit more yellowish to fake the resin look?

Turns out they're great to practice anatomy on since everything is exposed and you're forced to get it right otherwise it looks goofy.

I was drawing a backrop for a zombie apocalypse and was struggling with making it creepy because my entire playlist was indie/cute stuff.
Then I went back to listen to my old emo/metal playlists from early 2000s...
