Kasko might look like a deer with a simple design, but let me tell you he's the character that's given me the most trouble (at least till now). Here's his current design and a list of ideas I had for him.

Comic about deer is a cool idea until you realize you're gonna be drawing a lot of antlers from many perspectives. For every recurring antlered character I sculpt a simple head like this in order to spare my hand and nerves. I often trace over them if the perspective is tricky, and for more complex racks I won't even bother to freehand them. The coloring is ugly and inaccurate, but it's mostly just for my own fun.
I'll be posting head sculpts for more characters later.

I'm working on a 4 paged bonus comic that I'll post for Magpie tier when the current chapter ends! It's such a shame I never manage to carry the raw emotion of my sketches to the linework. I mean look at this.
Happy holidays to you! If you celebrate anything, I hope you do it safely and soundly. Myself I'm taking a week off from drawing, hopefully my limbs and fingers get enough rest because they've been hurting for months now.
I have such a bad habit of flipping the canvas so much. :(
