Work is proceeding on the next Mythic Magazine, #14. The article I'm writing on Emotional Quests is both very difficult to write but also exciting. Considering that it's about translating trauma into game mechanics, I'm trying to approach it delicately. The emphasis is on the journey to Fulfillment, and how that changes your character along the way. You can do an Emotional Quest as its own adventure campaign, or you could overlay it onto a standard Mythic adventure for extra emotional meaning...

Random Event, mummy edition!

I have to share this with you because I think it's so cool :)

As you know, the next edition of Mythic Magazine will contain a new, simplified version of The Creature Crafter. I thought to commemorate this, I would have Jorge make cover art that redoes the mummy creature on the cover of the CC, but in his own wonderful style.

Greetings everyone! Happy almost Halloween! Right on time for the Halloween weekend, Mythic Magazine #11 is done.

This issue has an article about what I'm calling Solo Play Strategies. The strategy discussed is Focusing In, which is a way of playing your solo Adventures where you adjust the scale of the narrative based on what interests you most. This Random Event is going to feel like deja vu. A few weeks back I posted how the Lists were looking in Mythic 2e. The Lists continue to evolve, and here is the current iteration.

I am trying to make Mythic 2e and The Adventure Crafter work more seamlessly together. I'm also trying to keep Mythic from breaking with the current version of the Mythic Emulator Deck. All of these things have to play nicely together.

You keep a List of Threads and Characters and when you need to roll for one, you roll random dice within the closest range of what you have in the List.
