As a super future oriented person, I've had many instances of forgetting to live in the moment-- especially when it involves money. This is obviously not to say that you should spend all of your life savings whenever you feel like it, but just remembering to treat yourself when you did something to earn it. Something I appreciate my culture is the level of honor we have for our grandparents, even after they pass away. While it may sound morbid to some, we bow to the shrines placed in our homes for them, we drop food off at their graves multiple times a year, and we burn joss paper goods for them (which can range from paper money, paper homes, paper cars, etc.). Last week I went on a mini weekend trip with my dad and sister to Kauai. It was a really nice father-daughter bonding time since my dad finally retired from working, and it was also my sister's birthday! With a lot to celebrate, the trip was relatively kept chill. 10 years ago you bet this bish would not get past 5 pages of a book without the urge to sparknotes what the book was about. But after getting some space away from standardized education, I’ve grown an appreciation for reading physical books. After spending hours on the screen for my main work, the last thing I wanna do to relax is look at another screen. My cats love that I like reading now too because that means more opportunities to lay on me 😻

My dog Dash is truly a deceptive little devil 😈💕and that's one of the reasons why we love him. It's funny to see how he can make people smile in awe on the streets, to making us fear for our lives the moment we disrupt his peaceful slumber (who can blame him).
