On the morning of the battle in Shanghai, Sonya had felt refreshed, strong, ready, and raring to go. That odd feeling of sharpness and clarity that she’d experienced in Australia had come back to her. She had thought, then, that this was what it must feel like to be someone past the threshold. It was incomparable to her human experience, all the traits of her multifaceted abilities working in tandem as her body became more than human. That had to be it, right?
She was so happ...

Prologue
The tribulation was coming. There was no stopping it, only keeping it at bay. Chunhua clenched her teeth as another tremor rocked through her body. She’d left Bluestar and the others behind back at the dungeon camp. The Pandora official hadn’t been happy about it, but she had no choice. This tribulation feels like it’s going to be different, she thought. If I went through it in the middle of a populated area, I don’t even want to thi...

Anna furrowed her brows as she pulled a strip of cloth around a cut she hadn’t paid much attention to during the fight with the skeletons. She tightened the makeshift bandage. It was too small to warrant burning mana on and too big to ignore. Her mouth twitched and she glanced towards the stairs where Catherine was standing, preparing herself for yet another grinding session. Anna felt a small pang of self-satisfaction from the knowledge that while Catherine was far more proficient in deali...

Hey heroes and villains! Thank you all so much for your patience. I know you all are eagerly looking forward to book 5. I am working hard on it right now and have made some headway into it. That said, I am also looking after my own health and taking care of myself. Writing four books in a little over a year has not been easy on me. I've decided to take a little bit more time to recoup. That said, I'm not the type to leave you all without some clarity.
BROKER and IMPERIOUS will return ...

EPILOGUE
Otis stepped through the portal, waving a dismissive hand. The Rift-amalgam shambling off to return to its creator. He glanced over his shoulder to see Riot and Felwinter dragging a catatonic Kaidan along with them. His lips thinned and his eyes turned to Melinoe. “You’re sure she’s worth keeping around?” he demanded, nodding briefly to his other two heralds as they dragged the unconscious woman away.
“She just needs some work, sire,” the Horrific Herald said....

Two more Heralds have fallen. Now three remain. One has yet to rear his head. One has already scurried off to Otis’ side. Leaving only one left between Sonya and her all-out war against Otis. Astaroth is in her sights, and the perfect opportunity to deal with him is approaching. Sonya has been patient with Mimir, but her homegrown vigilante mastermind has gone off the rails, weaving his own machinations as he positions himself against the world she wants to create. As Sonya gets ready to de...

Anna whipped her arm to the right as her club streaked through the space the skeleton’s head had once occupied. The pulverized creature’s skull naught but shards and powder at her feet as it collapsed to the ground. She stepped over it, dipping low as a razor-sharp set of fingertips snapped towards her own head. She snapped her eyes up to meet the gaze of the skeleton that had gone for the kill and drew her club up in an almost sword-like uppercut. She took a half step back and tilted her...

There's some continuity/mechanical errors in 336 that ended up influencing a significant portion of the chapter. Looking back over my notes and considering future plans and other plot events I am going to be revising 336. Ill have it out ASAP. Thank you guys, a few comments I read reminded me of the particular hinge that I missed and created a large plot hole unintentionally. Functionally most of the moments shouldn't change very much but the context and repercussions need reassessment.

Hey guys! Book 4 is over! What an ending, yeah? Hahaha! Well we're finally at the half-way point. Shit's about to hit the fan.
That being said, as is tradition, I am going on a brief vacation now that another volume has ended. I will be back tomorrow with the trailer for Book 5 as well as the cover card. After that, I'll be beginning my break. I started Broker in January 2024 and now I'm four books in, so a little rest would be nice. I will keep you all updated!
Be kind to one a...

After all the excitement of the battle, the wind down of the past few days, and the partying that came after, all Sonya wanted to do was take a short breath and really savor the victory while it lasted. She knew there was more coming - more fights, stronger foes, and a world catching up faster and faster every day even as she pulled ahead across th...

Anna and Catherine agreed after their respective refinement sessions to get a little rest before going another round with the Garden. There was still over a week until the deadline of the quest and the inevitable shuffling of Earth’s geology. Essence was not in short supply and grinding tirelessly against the now level seven skeletons had proven far more rewarding than the veritable massacre that Anna had dolled out the previous day. She was intimately aware that the whole situation was til...

With Erina’s papers in hand and a legal identity crafted for her, the party really got underway. Sonya and Amos knocked out another song, with Amos coming out the victor this time. Sonya had to admit defeat and passed the guitar over to an eager-looking Kera as she walked over to the couch. Barry intercepted her and handed her the drink he’d prepared. She sipped the bubbly alcohol and nodded appreciatively before he turned back to see Colin in his seat. Colin grinned at him and shrugged b...

To describe it as a thinking creature would be a gross misunderstanding of what it was. Instinct drove it - a need to hunt, a need to survive, and a need to maintain the approval of the one it was bound to. Mannerisms were manifestations of projection, the connection between familiar and tamer. The tamer had allowed it to hunt once again, setting it loose with unspoken instructions restraining its predation. Unlike its kin, it did not pursue the humans. It avoided them. Its targets, instead, ...

Sonya held her position in the air, arms crossed behind her back as the sky above cleared. The last of the cloud coverage dissipated with First Wind’s death. She mused briefly about the notification and grinned to herself. I was hoping for an improvement like this, she thought. Remember that idea I brought up to you, Sister? she...

As the first of the skeletons charged up the steps to meet Anna, Catherine leaned against the wall and crossed her arms. Anna attempted to grapple and strike first during her first few exchanges and Catherine was forced to call her out on it, but otherwise she slipped fairly easily into a steady rhythm of parries and ripostes. Catherine watched Anna’s form for a few moments before turning her attention to the skeleton she was engaged with. The mindless creatures had practically formed a que...

The wind howled, and the dark clouds in the sky thinned into a nearly translucent sheet. It was still difficult to make out distinct details through it all, but those below the clouds could finally make out more of the action. Flashes of light shone down with each clash between the embattled duo. Atop one building, water poured from a faucet mounte...

Since her first encounter with the Skeletal Champion, Anna had learned a few things about her most hated enemy in this new life of hers. The Grand Necropolis were world conquerors, raiders, slavers, and a grand hegemony that expanded its power through every corpse it created. It was a self perpetuating machine of conquest and only the other great forces in the multiverse kept it from running ramshod over everything in its path. As she stood in the control room of the garden, brushing a bit of...

Sonya felt more than saw First Wind flash away, trying to get some distance. She closed her eyes and listened to his heartbeat as it pounded in his chest. It was almost better than any background music she could think of. She swayed her head to it as he shot out of the building she’d thrown him into, grinning ear-to-ear. At that moment, in that place, she’d never felt more in control. She could feel her sister’s presence. She was closer than she’d ever been before, like they had been ...

Hey guys,
I'm excited to announce that Book 4's writing concluded last night and I'm in the process of scheduling it up. I've been so focused on doing it that I haven't had a moment to really give time to writing more Imperious to keep up with my release schedule (thank goodness it's still in pre-release, phew!). Anyway, everything's all good with Anna's story I just need to take a little time off and recover.
That said, Broker Book 4 will conclude when it is scheduled to (we got...

The bridge was nothing short of the aftermath of a war. Cars scattered everywhere, groaning survivors calling out from within them. She passed one car with a body lying still inside and frowned. Between the monsters and those people in the vans, so much chaos had already visited the city. She looked up to the sky as it trembled and shook, the dark clouds blocking her view of the clash of titans just above her head. She clenched her fist only for a small hand to wrap around it, and she relaxed...

He was a blur, a streak in the sky as he darted across the horizon. He glanced towards Ishtar while she stood in the middle of his latest loop, that broken gun of hers raised. She fired off shot after shot, bursts of chilling light exploding behind him in a trail. He shot upwards. He needed to go faster, outpace her reflexes. She’s fast, but not impossible to dodge. Not for me anyway, he thought. He shifted the air around himself, cutting through the sky like a blade and pushing pa...

Anna woke with a start, sitting up blearily as the world came into focus. She rubbed her eyes, pushing down on the hard surface beneath her and tugging at the blanket that had been thrown over her at some point. She glanced to the right and glowered at the bars to the cell she’d wound up in at the very beginning of her new life. With all the noise and movement coming from upstairs in the precinct she’d opted to crash in there rather than deal with all those people.
She threw her leg...

Nietz went low; Crusader went high. He slammed into Kingshark’s leg with a grunt and grabbed on, gritting his teeth as his body changed and claws dug into the floor beneath him. The big man looked down and raised his fist, only for a flaming sword to crash into the side of his head. Bolts of fire and gunfire splashed against his chest. A serpentine limb wrapped around his other leg as Crusader kept striking over and over. The clanging gave way to a sound that alerted Nietz that the attack w...
