You might have seen on my social media that the lineup for the upcoming band cover of Unravel has been announced. I'm trying my best to get the word out on this because honestly, i'm so so proud of everybody involved. It has turned out to be even better than I initially imagined, and i'm so grateful to have the level of musicians that we have, featuring on this project.

I'm really happy that everybody agreed on Unravel for this project, because as well as it fitting...

I tried a couple of new things in this video, such as the little animations and the more 'stylised' transitions in places. I'm still trying to step up my video production, so I hope that this is nice to watch!

Whilst i've not had chance to listen to many of them at all thus far, as i've been working on the ones that I immediately plan to cover, I would like to hear your favourites this season! 

As for this cover, it was pretty difficult to work out what exactly was going on (in terms of learning it). There are some very quick bass lines, and the guitars are kinda hard to hear properly, so I just went through with...

This backing track was so much fun to make! I usually hate programming so many MIDI instruments, but as I tried to get creative with this cover, it was a ton of fun!

I wasn't sure how to break up the parts so that you guys could play along to the backing track, without my recordings getting in the way, so I hope that this works for you :)

There aren't too many different sections in the rhythm side of this song. The melody that I highlighted in tab, along with the harmony, pretty much go on throughout the majority of the song (along with those chords).

Have a play with your tremolo system when playing the lead lines as well, there is no right of wrong way of playing it as I just added it for a cool effect!

I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH

I waited eagerly for this to finish airing, but now I wish there were more episodes ;-; 

I always see the way-over-the-top reactions in anime, but when it's piano or something...I don't know if the reaction is justified? But I was judging the heck outta of Uenoyama-kun's guitar playing in this show (he's pretty good ngl).

I really enjoyed it, and this song grew on me more and more after every episode!

Who's excited for the new season? It usually feels like a bit of a drag for me a month or so before the new season begins. The openings from the previous season that I want to cover are covered, and I never know what to work on next. That being said - this is always super exciting for me, a new opportunity to get my best work to date out, and new shows to binge!

The shows that stand out to me this season are definitely My Hero Academia, SAO: Alicization, Or...

Early Access: Tokyo Ghoul - Licht und Schatten [東京喰種 - OST] | MattyyyM Cover

Kicking off the spooky season with some Tokyo Ghoul!

This is one of my all time favourite OST's, so I worked really hard to get this how I envisioned it should sound. Using the floyd rose for the main hook line was pretty fun (albeit difficult to mimic on the video...^^;)

One of the most iconic anime openings, I think it's safe to say? I really enjoyed covering this one - it was quite a throwback for me as Haruka Kanata was one of the earlier covers I ever made, so it was interesting seeing the contrast from then to now (i've improved slightly at this ani-covers thing y'know...)

I just picked up my new camera today, and i'm so excited to use it! I'll now be able to film in 4K resolution, as well as at a higher frame rate to  make videos more liquidy and have some slow-motion shots (づ｡◕‿‿◕｡)づ

Which song are you voting for this week?

They're all of a higher difficulty to play this week, with the exception of Veil, which is geared more towards a beginner level. I personally like to play MUKANJYO the most out of these, and keep in mind that MAYDAY is in two different tunings (A# standard for rhythm, standard for lead guitars).

They're all super fun to play, though!

The backing guitars are actually played with a capo on the 1st fret, so i've arranged it so it's the same notes but played in standard.

New Band Cover Collaboration!

I thought I'd share something exciting that's in the works currently. I've arranged another band cover collaboration, that is now starting to come together, and I'm super stoked about it! This time around, we're covering Unravel, with a slight member change up. I live-streamed myself learning and recording this cover a little while ago, so if any of you guys tuned into that then I really appreciate it!

I must admit that I wasn't a huge fan of this song before I covered it, but it got requested relentlessly so I decided to work on it. Now after listening to it a lot whilst covering it, I really like it! It's pretty different to the songs i've been covering recently, so it was a nice change of pace ^^
