Have been silent because I thought nothing was worth showing you! Nothing very interesting in modeling 3D but I have now a lot of things done I want to show you.

So tonight I finished Kainé's swords last touches. I love them so much. They are finally put together too.

I have been brainstorming how to make Nier's shoulders more comfortable so I have been modeling and remaking them! They were bothering me.

It looks simple but they were a little odd to accomplish because ...

Painting feathers while watching Critical Role :)

Sword base coat is drying so I wait for tomorrow to paint the other side.

How I paint feathers like Griffon

I use a very thin wire from dollar store that I soak in paint and just apply the wire to the feather. It takes some practice but it is pretty effective for the look I'm going for!

I don't know why but they are so small that it is sort of adorable :)

Also, Griffon neck feathers which I cut into shape and painted the small black point on each of them.

I added finer details on the sword today, it is still not ready yet for final painting. It's been cold and wet lately, not exactly a good timing for sa majesté lion sword. Took a while to aline all the beads and the design properly despite what it looks like, it is quite precise and it is time consuming.

Update on sword

Brand new final lion piece and new design pieces in higher quality.

Beastlord has a specific looking chain. I modeled one, because they don't exist in that shape. It was fun! We finished all pieces yesterday at night, it took all week but it was worth it!

It means that the sword is almost at the painting process!

We plan on finishing almost all Nier related pieces, this month, minus the book. We will see if we can reach that goal together my subarashiis.

Companion skeleton

Pretty detailed heh!

This is the final skeleton for our little precious boy

Like I mentioned before, no regular skeleton will be like him unless it is done this way. But a regular one would work just fine if you have limited time. I don't even recommend to do what I do for your own sanity and mental health.

Yesterday I also did the mechanism for the movement of his mouth. It wasn't easy!

Companion limbs

Lately, I have been detailing my skeleton to match the references to help with the painting.

Because he is not a human he does not have a regular skeleton. So buying one wouldn't be working out in his case. I decided to make all the pieces and honestly who knows how this will turn out. :) I hope my genius will summon itself in critical times.

Sword texture work

Here you may have thought it looked like it was going to get put together soon heh!
Not yet, I had to tape all the sides and work on my beat-up/not smooth metal texture. Totally the opposite of what I am used to do.

I improvise as I go so I can't go too fast.

Meanwhile I am also preparing the lions and the design too on their own to be at their best before we put them all together.

It's such a ridiculously long process!

Connections in swords

Doesn't look like much but there is a lot of thinking behind big props.

And it takes time to properly make sure it will stay in one piece by putting multiple types of supports; glue, screws, structures, bars. In case one fail you, you will have a back up that will hold it. So I use it all.

It is sort of the more boring part of the job but a necessity.

Also spent part of the night working on the sword surface and now I will soon start texturing it.
