Remember what happened? Well, I re-sanded all the pieces affected by the splatter of oil that fell on them when my can exploded!
During the past two weeks I am climbing the hard steps back up to the point we were, no easy task, and all the pieces have been fixed and almost all repainted.
I keep the big blade for last!

Changed a few parts because I couldn't feel my fingers in some of them, it was too tight. Repainted, and finally attached. So easy to wear now! I can sleep with it.
Custom made zippers that I did are now attached too.

For comfort I needed to change a lot of things. So I remodeled them over the last few months, made them much thinner and adjusted all the physical drafts until it fits my leg properly. We threw away so many leggies. 💀
Today we celebrate that I can finally walk normally in them while still being accurate to the game render!
New way of attachments with some leather straps, claps and inserts to align and for extra protection against breakage. Easy to attach and it won't move at ...

Absolutely stunning navy blue linen! Couldn't wish for better. Same pattern as the game!
We have tried 2 other fabric that came wrong and this one is finally the perfect one.
Longest part of doing cosplay is receiving the things we need for them, or to just find them, because we are so picky it defies sanity. By respect to you, we do our very best.
This blue is meant for the pants of the soon revealed secret cosplay of mine! It's a really fun one!
The very sad thing is...
Cleaning up and covering them so we will never have to clean them again!
It's absolutely not aesthetically pleasing but it's efficient.

Ah, the wool cape.

Kinda shame to have it, since it's gonna cover the rest of costume, bud gladly our Maiden does uncover her cape!

KupoCon is a small convention that was held at the airport of Montreal. This event is all about the Final Fantasy Series and they included many activities that were really engaging and original.
We finally met John Bentley who voiced Barret from Final Fantasy VII Remake; he is truly a gem! You will never find someone more loving than him! He absolutely was looking forward to meeting us and left us with many hugs.
And of course all the people who were there are absolutely friendl...
Mogito already is taking one bed fully for himself and starting a party, while we unpack. ;)

A lot of failures happen behind the scene but this time I think it's worth saying because it was to be ready for KupoCon which is coming up this weekend.
As you could see from the other pictures on the previous post, everything was smooth and beautiful. Everything at a good pace.
But then, here's the horror:
One spray can randomly decides to explode in my hands and splatter its oil over the pieces. (Wrong, it's not what you think)

Added the little damages and scratched like in game. You can't see too well because the photos lose quality when posted in here so you gotta have to believe in me!

I wish it was an exaggeration. I spent 19-20 hours yesterday debugging and preparing for printing pieces of the new Lightning Blazefire that I've made. This blade took longer to plan, separate and prepare than modeling it! It is so beautiful though!
That time spent is usually pretty invisible in here. But if only there was a way to put a hour meter, it would be reaching heights
So I went to bed at 8 am this morning! Ugh!
My stamina is probably my greatest stats 💀

I've been meaning to post this progress BUT I forgot to make final results photos! Here they are!
I redid the gloves as we went with chestnut brown leather more than burgundy ( some references vary so we focused on in-game), and finally had good eyelets!
Those shoes are actually super comfy! The cords were burgundy and I painted them with leather paint! It's 10m of cord twisted, my fingers were not that happy!

So I wanted to make functional glasses for Adam and avoid using glue so it doesn't fall apart.
It turns out I've found minuscule hinges in my supplies and luckily fits just perfectly like they were waiting years for this.
Making holes in the glasses was an intensive operation and so was to put it together 💦💀
