In the olden days, I never would have tried this color. Not sure what made me do so. I thought it would match the boogie board, but I really like it with my skin and hair.

Jenny and I at our shoot last Monday with the two Dave's (Rudin and Levingston) who were both shooting with film cameras. It was a long hot day, but enjoyable! Dave R has been using the same camera for 25+ years. Levingston had a digital (I'll share pics if I get them) and a pull apart expired film one. Thanks for sticking with me here!

Some of these are clearly not good. (I hate the first couple.) Some of them later on I like more than the ones he edited from this set. I wanted to present them all so you could see the difference in what makes photos meh versus wow and sometimes it's as simple as correcting lighting (which could be done sometimes in post-processing/editing) or a different more dynamic pose or facial expression. Love how black and white instant film looks, but learning that a lot of contrast is best. I'm wearing a sheer white crop top and plastic panties (bound to a chair) in this, and some does not translate since everything I'm wearing is so close to my skin tone, but I still love how they look. Almost eerie in a way.

More self portrait fun with Ayeonna. I had these leftover from my shoot with Photobymikeo. She was excited to take her pair home, because she said they matched a pair of boots she had. I can understand the excitement, because I think these colorful fishnets are pretty fun. I'm hoping to wear some under shorts or holey jeans in real life. (Shoots are not real life. lol) Sadly, one of my favorites in the set is us bent over, but my toe is chopped off! Harumph.

I love doing these with models and people (anyone clothed or not that is willing, let me know! As you can see they are not sexual in nature, just fun). This is essentially how I take self portraits. I put my camera on a tripod, set the 10 second delay, run and jump into the frame with a pose, and do it all over again. So, it's kind of an exhausting process. Sometimes magic happens. Yes, I know the light is off on a couple. And, a couple could probably do with some alternate cropping. It's hard to take exactly correct photos when you're trying to do them fast and get a lot of raw material. I like to try to strike a balance between fast and good so that they don't need much editing, because I don't edit much anymore. I used to love to edit. So, I've had this clearance glitter forever and I wanted to do this as a self portrait, but it's impossible to dump glitter on yourself and shoot down. Soooo I'm glad she was game for letting me dump glitter on her and move it around.
