This is actually one of our favorite days of the year because it really kicks off the holiday season in our family... I mean also, because it is our son's birthday ;) From this point on we have non stop reasons to celebrate. After Crow, it's Matt's birthday, then Halloween, Thanksgiving, Blue's birthday, Christmas, New Year's, Rosa's birthday...did I miss anything??

All those feelings that hit this time of year had us itching to get out with the kids and do something down-home. Nothing nails it quite like apple orchards, farms and homemade apple pie. We took a drive to Julian, CA and found everything we were looking for. Come along with us. You will be ready for fall before you know it.

So yesterday I opened my phone to a post from someone in our community asking for help to save a pup on the euth list in a neighboring county. Luckily our county doesnβt have kill shelters. She was unable to pick up the pup, which was almost 2 hours away as she had a very busy day training her 40 horses and multiple other dogs, she also run a rescue. There was something about her post that made me feel I needed to act. So I decided I would help.

Yuuuuuumm...ok ok I know summer is almost over but peaches are so good right now! And you know it's still warm outside. These are delicious. The kids can't get enough of them. And because they are so easy I have been making them a lot.
The recipe is below. Forgive my lack of exact measurements. With a recipe like this you can use the approximate as a guide to season to taste.
