Punchy Old Saint Nicholas

 Saint Nicholas of Myra, the original inspiration for Santa Claus, was not on his best behaviour at the Council of Nicaea. In this episode, we won't look at why he's Santa Claus, but we will explore the dubious tales of his life, and what sort of lasting impression he made at the first ecumenical council in the history of the Catholic Church.

Antipope 2. Novatian

Following in the footsteps of his predecessor, Novatian embraces moral rigorism and being too orthodox for the church. He fought a war of words and slander, developed a schism that would harass the church for centuries after his own lifetime, and maybe spent a season with Satan.

Hippolytus is one of the most important theologians from the third century, and did a very solid job harassing and criticizing the popes of the era. He spilled a lot of tea, and now its our turn to take a critical look at his life, and see how he really measures up.

Hello patrons We just hit another goal and we are blown away! Thank you all so much for being here! We are going to be releasing our first antipope this month, but we got a little behind due to Fry getting rather sick and losing her voice. It will be recorded this week,and may be out by our intended release (the 26th), but it may be a few days later than that so dont panic! It WILL be outby end of month, come hell or high water.

Due to when our Patreon went live and the nature of how Patreon charges everyone, we're going to make sure that September has double the content.
