UPDATE 9/3: Please note that we have changed the name and the closure design of this pattern! I’ve really appreciated the opportunity to have constructive conversations via Instagram about vintage fashion and some of the trickier aspects of it. I sincerely apologize to those I hurt with any aspect of the design or name. Based on your feedback, we have decided to change the name of the project to the Hostess Lounge Set, and we are also changing the design of the closures. Additionall...

One of my most-requested tutorials! Here's how to add elasticity to a garment with shirring. In this video, I added a small shirred panel to the back of the Harlow Pajama top. Another great way to use this technique is to shirr the waistline of the Popover Dress in a spiral pattern or shirr an entire back panel like in the Jane Set (see photos below!).
I used Guttermann Elastic Thread, which comes in several colors.
I've heard reports of some computerized machines not cooper...

Hi all! I wanted to make sure the Lamour expansions included with the Loretta Shorts got their chance to shine. As already mentioned, Loretta is officially part of the L Series, which is a group of Charm Patterns that were drafted to be perfectly interchangeable with each other. So the Loretta Shorts are the perfect addition to make rompers and playsuits! But we also added a cute neckline band which can be used with the Lamour bodice. This little “collar” look was so popular in the ‘50s...
