2022-10-16 10:23:54 +0000 UTC View PostYou and your fellow team members had met up before the big day. You felt a bit of anticipation, Megumi looked constipated, and Rin seemed determined. Which was as good of a start as any.
Kushina directed you to where you normally get mission debriefs. Of which they quickly logged the three of you in and shooed you off to training ground five. Upon going to it, there was an entire table full of booklets, pencils, and erasers. There were genin from the other villages around. You knew the...
Rin POV
(Sometime in the past)
You had died. Being pierced straight through to your heart. You only had a few seconds to think before you finally died. Of course such thoughts were mostly preoccupied with you dying. And after a certain point, you stopped thinking all together.
…or so you had expected.
You awoke to the sounds of birds chirping over head. The next thing you heard was a loud gruff grunt of exhaustion. Something that didn't even...
Kushina PoV
You hadn't thought much of Aoki requesting for your help. Which was probably your first mistake in retrospect. While Aoki had proven to be rather adept in certain skills, he was also rather…quirky. An alarming amount of training techniques as well as styles he knew were unknown to you. And then there was the issue of of some of the outlandish things he says...
All things that you chalked up to being due to his mother. You weren't sure how exact...
Megumi choked on her food while Kushina gave you a blink of surprise. Rin said nothing and continued eating without being very shocked. You decided to simply repeat yourself due to being met with silence.
"I want to take the chunin exams."
"Are you an idiot or something!? Most people wait like two or three years before attempting their first exam."
Megumi answered you by slapping down her bowl. You rolled your eyes at her antics. Kushina seemed to be watching the interact...
There had been…an incident.
One that was great enough to be on the lips of every citizen of Konoha. Be it the civilians to the jonin. It was such a big deal that the academy's had even closed down temporarily. Not only were there whispers and rumors, but there was crying. Wails in the streets could be heard just about every other hour.
The people were calling it the Uchiha Clan Massacre.
In the span of one night, the entire clan had been annihilated. All except two, tha...
You found yourself in a small little ramen shop with your teammates. Apparently Kushina was of the belief that you needed to bond with your other teammates. Strengthen your friendships.
It was more than a tad awkward. Mostly considering that the three of you had just met each other recently. Which meant any amount of talking or establishing relationships would just come off as super forced.
So the three of you simply ate ramen in awkward silence. At least it was on Kushina's tab...
You had been called back to the academy. Your days of waiting for others to reach the same heights of you was over. The days where you'd watch Naruko leave for her first day at the academy and wait for her to come back. The days where you'd go over and loiter close the to the Uchiha compound to talk to Shisui. The days where Kushina would tease you for not having a team.
They. Were. Over.
It was time for you to rise up as a genin. To start your training away from your clan estat...
You had a dream.
In said dream you remembered a distant time. One where your mom was still with you and the idea of living in Konoha was an absurd one. Of life without your mother being something that couldn't even be considered.
It was a time where your mother was instilling great knowledge into your school. In order for you to live a better life. In order for you to serve your clan. In order for you to bring it back from the jaws of death.
And for you to learn this, you...
The paint on the wall was a pain to clean off. It would smear when you wiped it, and simply create a bigger blotch. Unfortunately there was no other way to fix it besides wipe it away hard with water. Having it slide down the wall until you fix even that.
After you spent a solid hour of your time cleaning the wall, you were then to help pick up and clean the scattered kunai used for practice. An easy enough task. After that you were home free.
And free to start plotting your rev...
You found yourself in the main shopping district of Konoha. The main reason being of course the constantly writhing and energetic form next to you.
Naruko had recently convinced you to not only go to the shopping district, but to go with her. Normally you'd have shut down any such attempt. At bare minimum you'd have refused to even be within ten feet of Naruko.
But…these were special circumstances.
Tomorrow was to be Kushina's birthday. Naruko wanted to go shopping with...
Konoha academy was…not quite what you had expected. It was rather open for one. It felt like just about anyone could walk in and take a seat. You'd describe it as very welcoming.
Such a thing brought a frown to your face. Being welcomed and safe was for families and clans. A ninja academy that was to train you into a hardened ninja of destruction shouldn't be described as 'welcoming'.
There were a few more complaints to be had. Mostly about the lazy looking adults around the p...
You awakened to the sounds of bugs chirping. Sitting up in your bed you decided to look around the room. It was a rather nice looking if unfamiliar with a view of the outside porch. The floor and walls were clean if rather barren looking.
Glancing over by the door you saw a blur of what looked to be a yellow flash before it disappeared. Making you wonder if it was a trick of the sunlight coming in from the nearby clear window. You stared out the window looking into the rather scenic ya...
Your first memories were of your mother and her bright red hair. She was always at your side day or night. Her presence was simply something that was a constant in your life.
If she wasn't teaching, she was playing with you. If she wasn't playing, she was traveling with you in her arms. If she wasn't traveling, she was sleeping. Such was the life you were accustomed to.
You both never stood in one location for too long. Always being on the move. Only staying in a single place fo...
The rain in Vacuo while gorgeous in viewing, seemed to be reviled by anyone who wasn’t a farmer. The ground would get incredibly muddy and could sink unsuspecting victims. That’s not even mentioning the grimm who could travel easily within the soften ground. Then they could pull you into the ground never to be see again.
The more mundane reason being the incredible humidity that would follow after the rain. Making it barely breathable to step outside, much less to actually work out ...
2022-07-24 23:48:17 +0000 UTC View PostFour days later…
Near the outskirts of Vale, we sat and watched the Vytal tournament for entertainment while flying to our destination. And then of course during the semi-finals one of the hunters ripped apart a girl who was actually an android from Atlas.
…Well, that happened.
Then the channel got hacked and a black queen chess piece started talking about feminism then that hunters were evil. It was kind of strange all things told. I don’t think she was accus...

Whitley moved his bishop to F3, almost like an afterthought. This move caused a hum to escape my lips at his antics. I wasn’t stupid. I knew this was a ploy for him to get me distracted and make a fatal mistake. Yet the path Whitley made was two-fold. By opening the conversation, he subconsciously chose a topic that interested him. It was a double-edged sword.
“Please. It m...
2022-07-24 23:46:06 +0000 UTC View PostI had made the most important epiphany of my life on my eleventh birthday.
It was a lavish affair, all things told. My mother, siblings and various children of relatively rich families had been seated in a large ornate table. The cake could’ve been mistaken for a bouncy castle. The presents were as abundant as sand on a shore. Yet, there was one thing I notably didn’t have.
My father.
From that observation my mind jumped to what could possibly be keeping him from m...
