Going Native: Touch of Preparation (ch.39)

It was the alien that moved first. The symbol before him flashed a blinding white for a moment, forcing me to narrow my eyes. In that same moment, the three multicolored balls that floated above the alien shot forward, racing towards Vegeta. Vegeta dodged them with ease, turning around to face the alien as he suddenly teleported behind him, moving through some kind of rift in space.

I expected Vegeta to launch an attack to vaporize the alien. Instead, Vegeta backed off, deftly dod...

Power Corrupts: Homecoming (ch.37)

This chapter was meant to be Bleak Falls Barrow but I ended up writing fluff instead.

...

"FUS!" Lydia heard someone whisper underneath their breath, just loud enough that it tugged at her consciousness and pulled her from her slumber. Instead of waking up in a soft bed, Lydia found herself in the back of a wagon stuffed with three others. She was propped up against one of the walls in her armor. It took her a moment to remember why she was here rather than back in Whiterun. ...

Power Corrupts: Moving up (ch.36)

I don’t know what happened to this chapter. I was hoping to get to Helgen, but no such luck. The scenes just wrote themselves until there wasn’t room for it. The next chapter it is then.

...

"So… there are Ten Divines now? Heh. The Thalmor aren't going to be happy about that," Kodlak said after a lengthy silence. He seemed to be the one that was handling this the best out of the three of us. Jarl Balgruuf sat in his chair, his hands clasped before him as a deep furrow ...

Power Corrupts: Prizes (ch. 35)

I felt every rib shatter in my chest. Blood erupted from my mouth as my organs were pulverized under the unrelenting force that slammed into my chest. I doubt I ever would have come to a stop if I hadn't slammed into a wall hard enough that stone buckled under the force, just as my armor did. For the first time in what felt like ages, I checked my health to see if the attack felt worse than it was.

Waifu Poll for Be a Dragon Rewrite.

So, there has been a very clear winner for the most recent poll. With 70% of the votes, Start Again has won the poll. I've already begun plotting out a storyline, building up my backlog, and other boring writer stuff. I'm hoping that the story will be up before the end of the month.

Here's a brief summary for the rewrite: Nero finds himself standing at a crossroad with only a slip of paper for direction, and it's about as helpful as a fortune cookie -- Go left for...

Should Be a Dragon be Rewritten?

So, I have a confession to make. I'm not happy with Be a Dragon in terms of quality, progression, and there has been a lot of negative feedback for the story. Most of it I agree with enough that I'm asking this question that has been on my mind for some time. A lot of it has to do with me falling into the same pitfalls that I ran into before.

Basically, Be a Dragon was meant to be a fun story to help me blow off steam. Both in terms of narrative and in terms of writing it. Unfortunately...

Be a Dragon: A Rose with Thorns (ch.17)

I crouched on my white shield, bracing myself against the sudden turns and force as I spun downward, all to aware that I was being chased by a half down missiles. The white orbs above me fired blindly, hoping to get a lucky shot in while I looked to the side at the robots that clung to the walls. Their arms jerked back from the recoil in a steady rhythm, their shots sailing by me harmlessly as I got used to predicting their trajectories.

Shifting my weight, I jerked to the side fa...

Be a Dragon: Simulation (ch. 16)

It really couldn't be understated just how much wearing a condom muffled sensations, I realized as I plunged into Raven's depths. She tried to keep back a moan, turning it into a breathless whimper of need and that was a thousand times hotter. I felt every fold with incredible detail -- the only thing I could compare it to was the time I finally got glasses and realized I spent my life until that point blind as a bat.

And it wasn't just me that was feeling it. As my hips found the...

Be a Dragon: Raven (ch.15)

"I have made a continuous error in judgment," Raven realized, looking down at the phone screen that displayed the picture that she had just sent. Everything leading up to this moment was one poorly thought-out decision after another due to her inexperience with dealing with people. Men specifically. Men she would like to be more than friends with.

'Be aggressive.' That was the advice that Kori had given her and it was only now, as her mortification grew with her actions, that she ...

"Think of a mountain shrinking to become a hill. Then picture that hill becoming a boulder. Then than boulder becomes a rock. That rock becomes a pebble. The pebble is what your power level needs to be,” I told Broly, who sat cross-legged in a seat with a platoon’s worth of rations wrappers piled up next to him. Broly practically was covered by the lime green ear that was wrapped around his shoulders, as if it were a blanket. It might as well have been because Broly looked like he was abo...

Power Corrupts: Dungeon Diving (ch.34)

"Gods be good," Aela muttered to herself, forced to find a new target as Jericho closed what should be an impossible distance in the blink of an eye to kill a bandit that she was aiming at. She watched as his blade flashed forward, cutting through a bandit's leather armor so quickly that blood erupted from both halves as the bandit’s heart continued to pump.

Before either half had hit the ground, Jericho had already moved on. He deftly deflected an arrow with his sword before he...

Staying here was the best decision she could have made, Neo realized in hindsight. Not just because of the tasty food, or the massive TV for her to discover countless new soaps, but the teenage drama was proving to be more entertaining than annoying. Somehow. Her eyes switched colors as she took a spoonful of chocolate ice cream in her mouth as she looked at the newest member of the household. Or, rather, the first.

Kitten sat on her too pink bed in her too pink room, shamelessly ...

Going Native: Touch of Evil (ch.37)

"We have to fight!" Elery shouted, not caring who was attacking them. The Reach, the Frieza-force -- it didn't matter! Brother cared about this planet for whatever reason, and that was all the reason Elery needed to kick the butt of whoever was attacking.

Next to her Olaive nodded fiercely. "Yeah! Let's go show them who's boss!" Her rival looked ready to fight, eyeing the drop pods hungrily as thousands of them began to rain down from the sky. An army was landing on Planet Vegeta,...

Power Corrupts: Companions (ch.33)

Whiterun was more impressive on the inside than it was on the outside, yet it almost resembles what it looked like in the game. There was a clear main road that led to a central plaza, which in turn led to the keep. From where I stood at the gate, I could see the Skyforge that peeked over the tops of houses. Not to mention that the home of the Companions wasn't a Viking inspired longhouse -- it would classify as its own keep if the hints of walls were anything to go by.

However, t...

Her body went stiff underneath me, her breathing sporadic as she moaned senselessly.

Elery watched the space ship go upward towards the sky until it disappeared behind the clouds. She clung to Mom’s back, frowning up at the sky as she watched her brother disappear. Power Corrupts: Whiterun (ch.32)

The house turned out better than I expected. Probably better than it had any right to be since it was my first time working in construction, but between Hestia’s guidance and my growing skills in craftsmanship, it turned out great. The house was larger than the others, but nothing so blatant as to be called a mansion and it used the plot of land within the village walls well.

More surprisingly, it looked like it belonged in the city. At my insistence, most of the house was made of sto...
