Castoff: Casting off Destiny (Berserk/Witcher 3) (ch.1)

This is a story idea that I've been tossing around in my head for about a year now, and watching the Witcher series on Netflix inspired me to write it out. I'm not certain if this will become a fully-fledged story, but if there's an overwhelming demand for it to be, then I'll do my best to fit it into my schedule.

Let me know how you feel about the fight scene. I’m a little iffy on it, but I can’t tell if its me being overly critical or if it needs some work.

...

The minotaur hit me like a linebacker, nearly folding me in half and it would have if it weren’t for my sword absorbing the bulk of the blow. Even still, it slammed into me hard enough that the harsh sound of metal on metal rang out before its horns made contact with my armor.

For the briefest s...

Power Corrupts: Divine Embrace (ch.12)

I really wish I had a mirror, I reflected as I fiddled with my rolled-up sleeves. I had a good idea of how I looked thanks to the ones at the Guildhall, but walking through a city of sweaty, filthy peasants tended to leave small details out of place. Was my hair still in the same position? Did everything look as I left it? I knew Hestia wouldn’t notice these things, or if she did, she wouldn’t care, but it was the first-date jitters.

Even if it might be a formalit...

My highschool adventure as a Sith is wrong, as expected (1.5)

Trama is something that is purely subjective. What could traumatize person A could leave person B completely unaffected -- there was no person in this galaxy that had the same exact values, fears, expectations, and desires. Despite the population, no matter their species, they tend to follow the flow like sheep, everyone was unique in their own way. The reaction to trauma, and what caused trama, was one of those things that made each person distinct.

Self-awareness is...

The cities of Cadinth were dead. There was once an ancient race that had lived here, but they were gone long before other races had settled in their ruins. The buildings, despite how poorly they aged over thousands of years, they still held a futuristic look to them. They stretched high into the sky, the gray metal having long since dyed black, the glass windows were coated in dust.

Going Native: Smell of Home (ch.16)

"I agree wholeheartedly, Lord Frieza!" Captain Ginyu exclaimed, but his voice was distant even as it rang out in my ear. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the awe-inspiring display of power. Planet Sereall drifted apart, neatly cut in half as what remained of the defensive fleet struggled to recover from what just happened. I couldn't blame them -- I couldn't imagine how they were feeling after getting hit like that out of nowhere.

"But there's so much left," Lord Fri...

So, I’ve noticed some serious problems with the pacing of this story. When I was plotting out my outline and writing the backlog of chapters, I didn’t really notice it at the time, but it’s become pretty clear that the plot of this story is moving at a snail’s pace. So, to rectify this, after the next chapter there’s going to be a small-time jump.

People have more than five senses. Sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell -- those made up most of them, but there were other senses. Not stuff like a sense of time, sense of self and so on, but a nearly tangible sense used to observe the world around us. A sixth sense. Most summarized is instincts, warning us of danger.

I never felt it before, but when I opened my eyes, I couldn’t help but feel that something was wrong. Every hair stood on end, the course blanket ...

My highschool adventure as a Sith is wrong, as expected (OreGairu/Star Wars) (ch.1)

This is a new story I've been working on for some time, and now that I have a nice backlog of chapters, with the upcoming trainwreck of the Rise of Skywalker just around the corner, this seems as good of a time as any to post this.

Updates will likely either be on Wednesday or Thursday, the average chapter will be about 5000 words. Let me know what you think!

Going Native: Eyes on the Prize (ch.14)

“Rahhhhh!” I screamed, launching the ball of purple ki at the Green Lantern. The Lantern glowed with a deep green light, its jaw clenched as it raised a fist, the deep green ring on its finger glowing as a construct emerged from it. A giant hand that simply cupped the ball of ki before diverting its path to the side. Snarling, I tried to bring it back on path, but the ki ball was too heavy, for lack of a better word. The damn thing sailed off into the distance, exploding when...

Monthly Prompt: Alone Time

I grew up with the Teen Titans show, and back then I had the biggest crush on Raven. And you know what? I still do.

...

Raven heard Tarble’s presence a moment before he touched down on the top of Titan Tower, landing heavier than normal. Curious, she opened her mind’s eye to observe behind her, seeing that the Saiyan was carrying what looked like miles of rope coiled above him and a giant hook in his free hand. Ah. He was going fishing again.

“Lili, you feeling okay?” I asked, spotting the smaller girl as I walked up to the central plaza, the dark sky hanging overhead. Even in the low light, the moment Lili turned to look at me, I saw something was wrong. She looked absolutely haggard like she stayed up all night for the second day in a row. Dark bags hung underneath her eyes, her light brown eyes were bloodshot and her face was pale. Practically bloodless.

Even still, Lili nodded, looking as chipper a...

Going Native: Seeing Red

“Stay small,” I told my body, fighting against the transformation that tried to overtake me as I stared up at the Power Ball. My teeth grew, sharpening into fangs as I grit them hard enough they could shatter, a vein bulging out near my eye, one had already burst in my eye from the strain. I felt myself grow another inch, fur growing on parts of my skin.

“Stay small,” I repeated, trembling with exertion. It was like trying to make my heart stop beating -- goin...

The next few days were...normal. Extremely normal. Things seemed to fall into a routine of sorts. I got up, went into the Dungeon with Lili for around ten hours or so, then Eina would give me lessons. Apparently, she figured since I agreed to it once, then I was agreeing to it for all time. Then I went home to Hestia. Calling it a routine might be a bit much since it was only two days, but I noticed a pattern the week I’ve been here.

There was a distinct lack of any...

“What’s the big deal?” Bardock asked, leaning in his chair far enough that I’m sure he was hovering to stop himself from falling over. His arms were crossed, a finger tapping impatiently against his bicep, matching the dull frustrated expression that he wore. “I lost control when he was teaching me to control my oozaru form. Wasn’t like I was trying to kill him.”

I could hear Ve...
