Vegeta and I clashed above the ocean, sending a shockwave out that blasted the water back. It surged away, forming a tidal wave that stretched out in every direction, and it was joined by others as my brother and I traded blows.
The taste of blood was heavy on my tongue. I could hardly feel the impact of the blows that I took from Vegeta or from the ones I gave him in turn. There was nothing said between us as we fought. There was nothing left to say. Vegeta refused to listen to reason,...

Planet Vegeta hadn't changed from orbit, I noticed as the Warworld exited slip space in the system. It was the same aquamarine color, the seas holding a greenish tint which made the swirling white clouds stand out that much more. Circling the planet was a sizable moon that would only have a full moon every hundred years or so. It was about a decade away from having that full moon. Beyond that, there was a notable lack of defenses such as defense platforms or shield satellites. The planet itse...

"Please! Please! Please! Pleaepleaseplease!" Megumin begged, dragging behind me as she clutched the back of my shirt. I really regretted giving her that mana potion for more reasons than one. Her begging was pretty annoying, but that wasn't the main reason. It was mostly because I realized how this was going to play out.
The plan was to keep away from the canon party. For the most part, they were dead weight. The best worst girls in anime. However, not all worst best girls were created ...

"Damn Senpai! He ruined my chance for an adventure! I should have known better. Every game gets boring after you toggle god mode. The journey is more important than the destination, even if that destination is the harem ending," Kazuma muttered darkly to himself, kicking a stone down the cobblestone path. He glanced down at his Adventurer Card—he couldn't get another one. Well, he could, but the card just displayed the changes he had undergone on a genetic level. A fresh card would still di...

Apparently, giant frogs were kinda a big deal, I learned as Kazuma, Aqua, and I strode out of the city gates with a quest to kill at least five of them. The frogs ate farm animals primarily, however, more than once, a Little Timmy had been playing outside, only to get gobbled up by a giant frog lurking in the distance. So, the quest had a pretty decent reward considering that, and there wasn't a level limit because the town just wanted them dead.
That being said… in light of that info...

There were few people that had managed to infuriate Bruce on a fundamental level quite like Oswald Cobblepot. Since the very beginning of Bruce's career as Batman, the Penguin had been a constant needling thorn in his side. He wasn't like the other rogues that seemed to obsess over getting his attention. If anything, it was the exact opposite.
The moment that Batman had taken down the Falcone Crime Family, Oswald had already made moves to cut off a sizable chunk of their crime empire. T...

"Any luck?" Dick questioned, peeking over her shoulder to get a look at her monitor setup. It was no Batcomputer, but between five screens that fed her info, each paired with a beast of a computer, it wasn't too far off. Streams of code scrolled across several screens while Barbara personally worked on hacking Preston Smith's personal computer. He took good precautions for his internet safety, but 'good' wasn't good enough. She had his email, project files that were downloaded into his comput...

"Just, please, give me another chance! It was just the one time! I'll never do it again, I swear to God!" A human male sat in a chair across from Vergil, tears welling in his eyes. Every line of code in her processor screamed at her to take action. Of what kind, 2B didn't know. Just something. A human was in front of her and he was suffering. Such a thing couldn't be allowed. Shouldn't be allowed.
Yet, it was a human that she gave Authority Command Level 1 to that was causing the suffer...

"I wish I could teach you the little that I know, Ren, but it is forbidden. Passing down the techniques of the Heavenly White Tiger Fist without permission from the head of the sect can never be allowed. Especially for someone that has been banished and disowned," Dad replied, sounding like he was getting tired of repeating himself. We sat at the dinner table, lingering after lunch. Mom had started cooking more, but with my increased appetite from my new lifestyle, it was just barely enough. ...

I ripped through the healing pod I found myself in, greenish fluid erupting from the pressurized pod before I forced my way through the opening. A purple light filled my vision, and I saw empty containers filled with biogel.

"State your business for coming to Axel!" Demanded a stern woman with dark hair and a medium build, wearing a business skirt and dark blue blazer. She adjusted her glasses, pinning me with a look, her dark blue eyes trying their best to stare right through me.
I sat in front of her, my hands in my lap with half of my ass hanging free because the chair wasn't anywhere big enough to accommodate me. I ended up breaking off one of the arms when I sat down -- something the guy behind me scri...

You ever have a moment where you realize you were an absolute idiot of the highest order? I think I’ve had more than most in the grand scheme of things. Part of that was just being a teenager without parents to raise you. But, of all those moments, never before had I felt so stupid. So utterly moronic that it was an honest wonder how I managed to keep drool from running down my chin all the time because I was clearly, undoubtedly, a slack-jawed nitwit.
The world around me was data. Ru...

I sent Marquise his gift through the mail after dumbing it down considerably. In the end, it was the best option. Marquise lasted in this city for twenty years with some preem territory while being surrounded by numerically superior enemies. He didn't manage that by being stupid. As much as I liked the idea of strolling up to his front door, handing over the gift with a wink and a smile, I also knew that I'd just be giving them a gun to shoot me with when I refused any offer to join up.

My set up was slowly taking over Jackie’s garage, I realized as I caught myself thinking I needed more room. The punching bag got moved to the opposite corner, so I had a little more room to work with. In the past few days, I had been making do for the most part. I had everything that I needed to scratch that tinkering itch. Coding my language satisfied it for the most part, as did working on the spellbook that I was developing.
However, my needs had outstripped my equipment. What I h...

Actually watching what could only be described as a super undead ninja sneak into your house was surprisingly lame. Mission impossible managed to spice up the tension with dramatic music, sharp cuts, and a bird's eye view of the entire situation. I only had the latter -- there were no blind spots in Lowtown. Not for me. At any moment, I could see every inch of the entirety of Lowtown through a half dozen different angles. And every single one of them was disguised as an everyday object. The c...

Sweat dripped from my brow, and my lungs felt like they were on fire. I had improved my physique a fair bit, but not enough, I found. From forty seconds to ten minutes. It wasn't a bad jump in endurance, but when Kaldur didn't so much as look winded, it felt like it was dreadfully too little.
The guy stood across from me, settled in a battle stance. His expression was blank, waiting for me to make a move. He already had a feel for my fighting style. And he had patiently waited for me to...

"Oooohhh! There it is!" Froot shouted, watching the golden aura cover the infant Saiyan's body. There wasn't an atmosphere, but Froot could feel a surge of power brush over his skin and fur. Tarble was pretty weak all things considered, but he had to give him this -- watching him rise to his feet, blood pumping out of his body like a broken faucet from a gaping hole in his chest? What he lacked in raw power, he sure made up with relentless determination and willpower.

Miranda Lawson was a native to the universe. At least, I'm pretty sure that she was. She hadn't really given anything away, much less admitted that she's from another universe or whipped out an Omni-tool or something. She talked little about her past beyond mentions that she found herself on the streets when she came to Gotham and heard about Lowtown. No mention of where she came from or what she did before.
The only thing that tipped me off that she was a native, similar to how Revy wa...

"Happy Harbor?" I questioned, having no clue where that was. Sounded like a nice place, though.
"A small municipal city in the state of Rhode Island," Batman answered, before he sharply turned around and began to walk away. I quickly fell in step, trying not to gape at my surroundings and the fact that I had apparently been teleported to another state. That was so cool. "After careful consideration, you've been invited to join a small team of heroes that operate under the Justice League...
