Oa, the center of the galaxy and the home of the Guardians. Over the years, Hal wondered if he would ever see it again. It was the birthplace of the Green Lanterns, a Corp that he had loved wholeheartedly. He still did, in his own way. He loved what the Green Lanterns represented, what the Lanterns that made the Corp… it was just the Guardians that tainted that love.
Hal scratched at his cheek, the green veins pulsing with ethereal light as they traveled up his neck, stretching across...

"Mr. Jericho? How was the Moot?" Lili asked when I teleported back home with Hestia. This time I was able to walk through the front door instead of falling from the ceiling. Lili sat on the couch, a book in hand that she had been reading before the fireplace. Serana also looked up from her place in a chair tucked in a corner, a history book in hand as she caught up on what she missed.
"It was a disaster," I began. "I became High King of Skyrim."
Lili blinked, "My sincerest condole...

A woman walked towards me during the middle of the meeting as the gods bickered back and forth about something. It had been three days since the meeting began, but it felt like it had been closer to three decades. Mostly because pretty much nothing had been accomplished. outside of wasting time, and it was like they were determined to waste it too.
Which is why a woman with pale skin, black hair, and painted black lips slinking her way towards the Aedra table caught my attention. Especi...

"Sheogorath, I would presume," Elenwen responded, her tone aloof.
"That," Sheogorath leaned in and whispered in her ear, the words carrying because everyone was suddenly deathly silent. "Is not my name."
I shifted where I stood -- everyone else in the room understood, I saw. The hall was filled with gods, kings, and emperors, but Sheogorath was unquestionably the most dangerous person here. Bar none. To top it off, she was the Prince of Madness so maybe not even she knew if she wa...

Revy held up two bills, inspecting them both with a discerning eye that flickered back and forth between the hundred-dollar bills. She made a noise of acknowledgment, before flipping the bills over to inspect the back of them. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly, bringing one closer to her face, then doing the same for the other. Upon lowering the bills, I saw she wore a sharp smirk, "This one is fake," she spoke with complete confidence.
That smirk promptly fell as I smirked right back,...

"... Here's your cereal," I said, looking away as I held out the cereal to her. Cass accepted it, but out of the corner of my eye, I didn't see her move. Right. So, Cass slept in the nude. Fair enough, I did the same more often than not. What I didn't do was walk around the apartment in the nude. Especially when there was someone else in the apartment with me.
She didn't know better. I knew that much. How much of society's norms were lost on you when you couldn't understand people? How ...

It was a mass breakout, with emphasis on mass. With the vines that I had given Poison Ivy, she had broken out almost the entirety of Batman's roster of villains.
Harley Quinn, who I'm betting was the real target. The others included Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Mad Hatter, the Riddler, Calendar Man, Firefly, Professor Pig…
The ones on the list that scared me the most were Scarecrow and Victor Zsasz. The former had a habit of going after the entire city… the latter was a mass murderer...

"You can do it, just a little more," my physical therapist -- Alice -- coached me as I spun the pedals in my hands, filling the room with the sound of shifting sand. Or at least I'm assuming it was sand. My biceps burned with effort, and my shirt was plastered to my body because it was completely soaked through with sweat. It dripped down my face, into my eyes, and despite my best attempts, my breathing came in and out as erratic pants and gasps for air.
Despite that, I spun the pedals,...

"They took the bait," Prince Tarble remarked, looking at a map of the galaxy as they stood in his throne room inside of the Warworld. Avery stood in line with a handful of others -- Generals and Admirals. Each hand-picked to take place in this bloodbath. And it spoke a great deal about Prince Tarble that Avery knew that everyone in the room was honored and proud that they had been picked, rather than terrified. Not that they weren't, but everyone felt more pride than fear.
This was the ...

'The Vega system,' Koter thought, his hands interlocked as he watched streams of information coming in from countless spies in innumerable empires. A backwater system if there ever was one -- remarkable only for the number of habitable planets therein, and the fact that the Green Lanterns steadfastly refused to enter the system. Because of that, it became a den of sin that attracted the worst the galaxy had to offer.
For the most part, no one paid any attention to that dark cor...

This was Sheogorath's fault, I decided, spotting the Mark under the Emperor's feet. I was so not prepared for Emperor Titus to pop into Helgen unannounced.
"I believe," Serana spoke up, "I should make myself scarce. Too many eyes around for my liking." Meaning she was still concerned with her father finding out that she walked the world once again. "You can use the private booths," Mama Welles spoke up as Tattletale practically radiated smugness out of every pore. It was nice to know that my initial impression of her had been dead on -- Tattletale struck me as an uppity bitch. The kind that had to be the prettiest, smartest, funniest person in the room at all times. Maybe not the center of attention, though given her entrance, I would make an argument for it, but she always had to be on top.
I spared a look at Jackie, who looked a...

Tinkering with objects was different than tinkering with code, I found. With code, I was in the driver's seat the entire time. I was aware of what I was doing, what I was creating. And I could look back at the code and make sense of it. With objects, it was different. My hands- well, hand, seemed to have a mind of its own as it worked on the prosthetic that was laid on the desk that once housed a built-in computer and a mountain of takeout boxes.
It was half taken apart -- the guts of t...

He was supposed to be the first bad guy she took down, Taylor Hebert reflected. She made that decision in the elevator when she saw the blood on his face and the guns he was carrying. Guns that you couldn't get out of a vending machine. Using a few flies through the air conditioning unit, Taylor had seen the money he had pulled out, so it was a simple task guessing what had happened. It's what always happened in this city.
V had gone out and committed crimes for money. Robbed someone. P...

I have to go on a business trip for work during the time frame, so there won't be any updates between the 19th and the 26th. It worked out nicely since I have a bi-weekly story to think about now and it was already closing in on my break every two months so, I figured it would be a good time to just take the week off.
As always, thank you for your understanding and patience.

Jim Gordon sighed as he watched Two-Face's body get rolled out. From his angle, he only saw the unburned half of his face. For a moment, it was like losing Harvey all over again.
Harvey Dent… when this city was at its worst, Harvey had been one of the few people Jim had put his faith in. The man was uncompromising, dedicated and charming. Despite everything that the city threw in his way, Harvey had been on track to becoming the DEA. Jim had respected him. Admired him, even.

My head felt like it was full of cotton when I woke up. I drifted for a long time between the realm of sleep and awareness, that twilight time when a minute was just as likely to feel like a second as it would an hour. My mind refused to form any thoughts, not wanting to disrupt that balance that would drag me into awareness. But, I had to end eventually, if only to check my alarm to make sure that I didn't sleep the entire day away.
It was then I became aware that there was something w...

I have a surprise story for you all -- it's a commission story! My first one. I've been playing around with the idea of taking commissions for a while now, and when I got the offer to write this story, I decided to test it out.
That being said -- At the moment, I am not taking additional commissions. I'm testing out what I can handle more than anything else. Additionally, because it's a commission, there will be no advance chapters posted here. I'm posting...

"Whatcha doin'?" Fasha questioned as she floated above one of her kids, bending over to peek at the datapad in his hands. The child sat on the ledge of a building, his feet dangling off as they idly kicked back and forth. When she spoke up, his gaze snapped to her before relaxing ever so slightly.
He wasn't one of the kids that she had trained and raised since the start. He was too weak. Just as Bardock had predicted, the few hundred thousand that were attached to Tarble or Vegeta, they...

Gods made things way too complicated, I decided, and not for the first time. Akatosh, in his infinite wisdom, decided to make Serana the Dragonborn while she was napping away. Did that mean the original Dragonborn just wasn't the Dragonborn anymore? Did he take away their Dragonborn-ness? Did they still have it? The Dragonborn was meant to be the Last Dragonborn, so there was only meant to be the one.
Still, it was pretty humbling to realize that Akatosh could just… make someone the D...
