I'll be putting a pause on the Patreon Page on December 30th so that no one will be charged for January. So, if anyone still wants to get their custom follower, you'll need to do it before then. I wont be accepting any new commissions until March which is when I'll unpause it.

A couple of weeks ago I barely got much work done because of IRL stuff, but it's mostly over and everything ended up being good etc. Just family medical stuff that thankfully ended up not being too serious or at least ended up not turning out bad. It was just concerning because of the whole pandemic thing. But now I'm back to working on the followers.
Once I've made all the faces and bodies, I'm going to start posting previews of all their faces and then get to work on finishing them. I might release one more follower this month and then just focus on finishing these followers so that I can mostly focus on releasing followers through out January and February.

What I'm doing is making the faces and bodies (about 2 or 3 at a time each day, sometimes up to 5) and then I'm going to go back over them with fresh eyes to change things up. Because what happens is, I will end up making faces, think they look good, then when it's time to finish them, I look at the face and either want to tweak it or completely redo it all over again.
So, this time I'm going back over then 2 or 3 times to make sure I'm really okay with their faces. I should have the screenshots sent out by the end of next week and then I'll start posting the pictures here on patreon.
In the meantime, I'll also be posting some finished followers on the Nexus whenever I can.

I'll probably go back and tweak them as needed when I look at them with fresh eyes. I've been doing some gathering and permission requesting for outfits and weapons.
I'll be working on faces all month and will start sending screenshot previews out for feedback to those who commissioned them. Then I'll start creating them and go from there.

The slots will remain open for November and December. After that, they will be closed towards the end of November and anyone subscribed to them will need to go back down to the $1 or $5 before the end of December so that you aren't charged in January.

Have about 80+ character concepts for followers that come from other worlds like our own version Earth as well as Earths that have alternate histories and from different time periods of those various Earths. These followers end up in Skyrim through various ways like waking up there, being aware that it's a video game, traveling there my space ship intentionally or by mistake, teleporting there through magic or science, etc etc.
Anyway, since most people who like my followers like anime, I figured I'd go with the theme of School Girl this time. I have a ton of other themes that range from various professions, decades, and sub cultures to sub categories of various social/subculture groups (hippies, bikers, gamers, etc etc)
Voting Options:
Book Worm Dreamer: She reads lots of fantasy books for fun and loves DnD. She fell asleep one day and ended up in Skyrim. She's almost certain it's just a dream, but it feels too real and she's already been there for a few months. She's become a mage since then and uses her knowledge of fantasy and the modern world to get by.
Apocalypse Survivor: Before her world ended, she used to be a girl scout when she was younger and when she got older, she studied kendo. One day, while in class, demons suddenly appeared all around the world causing mass chaos. Armed with only her bokken (wooden katana) she was able to fight off one demon that attacked her, but she had to run away from the rest. Most people weren't so lucky. For over half a year, she's been surviving, learning how to fight the weaker demons. Eventually, she cam across powerful demon while out scavenging alone. The demon attacked her and she tried her best to fight it, but it kept knocking her down. After a long scuffle, she managed to kill it with a large shard of glass before it could pounce on her. As it laid bleeding on top of her, it's demonic blood spilled all over her. It burned badly, so she passed out and woke up in a bed somewhere in Skyrim. She was very confused, but, for now, it seemed to be a safer world than the one she left behind. She's a warrior who uses her now enchanted and reinforced bokken.
The Drop Out: She's a "bad girl" always getting into trouble. Before dropping out, she skipped classes all the time, often running away from authority. One day, while running from an officer, she ran into an alley with a dead end. On the back wall there was a realistic graffiti painting of a field with some deer. With no where to run, she turned around to see the officer, backing up slowly as he approached. She kept backing up, longer than she thought she would, never hitting the wall. She lost her footing and fell backwards into some grass. The fall made her close her eyes as it happened and when she opened them she was in that same field. She looked around confused and scared. She spotted a city nearby and decided to head in. She's been there for a few months now and has accepted that she may never get back home. She uses a sling shot and stealth to get by.
Depending on which one wins, their story will be fleshed out more.

I'm currently doing a bunch of work on my other projects so that I don't have to do as much in November and December for the current batches of followers before I pause my patreon for two months starting in January.
I've made most of the bodies for the NPCs and will probably be finished with them by the end of the month. Then in November, I'll be gathering all the assets for them and start working on their faces which will likely spill over into December and then I'll be finishing those up.
If I can keep up with that schedule, I should be able to spend most of January and February setting up all the followers for release on the Nexus as well as releasing them. There are a TON of them and i don't want to flood the site so I'll probably spread them out, doing 2-4 a week. I'm also going to merge some of them together if they're from the same story/IP. For example, all the Starbutterfly followers will be in one mod together.

Temporary Custom Follower Slots
I've been thinking about opening a few more temporary custom follower slots. I'm not sure I'll do it though. But it would basically just allow people to request a follower for November and December, but then that tier would go away afterwards. I might do 2 or 3 in November to see how it goes since 2 or 3 more followers wouldn't be too much more work over all since i'd be working on all these followers at once. IF I do open some extra slots for custom followers, I'll let all my supporters know at least 24 hours or more before hand so that you'll get first dibs if you want it. Then I'll post about it on Discord followed by posting about it on Twitter.
If you're interested, PM me to let me know so I can consider how many Temporary slots to open. They'll be set to $51 per follower and the tier will go away after December, so people will be able to get at least 2 custom followers (November and December). After that, the tiers will go away and you'll need to either go down to a lower tier or unsubscribe.
Development Process
I'm going to see about speeding up my process. I've been giving all the followers custom enchantments on their clothing to make them more viable in combat and to match their power levels in their respective canons/lore (a fire based character being immune to fire for example). I think I'm going to stop doing this and just let players enchant the clothes. This would cut out at least 20ish minutes on each follower. I might look into seeing if I can apply some effects directly to followers via custom perks, which, in theory should only take like 5 minutes, but it'll probably take me about an hour the first time just to figure it out. If I do figure it out, I'll make a post about it probably.
2020-10-21 16:15:14 +0000 UTC View PostThis week, I'm currently working finishing up the August followers still. Some of the meshes were giving me problems (crashing the creation kit). It seems like a ton of older meshes that were made back in 2012 aren't too stable. But I was able to convert them to FBX and back into nifs and now they're fine. That process took a whole day because there were so many meshes and I also needed to reapply the textures to each nif/nif part.But I'm making progress.
Once I finish these August followers up, which should be done by Thursday or Friday, i'm going to make all the bodies and start working on the faces through out the rest of the month while also gathering all the assets I'll need for their clothes/armor. I might actually do the gathering first since i'll have to wait on permissions for some things.The followers will be made in this order (most likely, there may end up being some additional ones):
Seems like a ton, but keep in mind this list includes Novermber and December as well. Next week, I'm going to try to work on and finish up my other projects for the months that way I can focus on the followers. I wont be able to do the same next month because my other projects will need more attention, but i'll still be working on everything as usual.

For now though, I wanted to give everyone a heads up that on January 2021, I'm going to freeze my patreon page for January and February. Then it will resume again on March.
This means you wont be charged for January nor February, and there wont be any votes for those two months. You probably know why I'm doing this, but it's so I can try to catch up on everything. The backlog of followers I need to make, the ones that need to be tweaked, and the ones that need to be released on the Nexus. This is probably the only way to get caught up and even then, I'm not too sure it'll be enough, but it will definitely help.
For those of you who have done the annual subscriptions, you'll of course still get your bonus follower/followers done. And you'll get two extra votes towards any month from March and onward in 2021 (one for each of the two months of your choosing).
That's pretty much it. the rest of this post is what I'm planning on doing for those interested. I'm going to spend some time working on my other projects and getting them out the way within the first 2 or 3 weeks. Then I'll spend the rest of January and February going through everything I have to do for the followers. I'll still be active, just as I am now, the only difference is that I wont be taking more commissions within the months of January and February.
I might consider opening up new tiers for custom followers in December, but then I'll remove it afterwards. For those who want followers, but aren't able to get them. For those who just want one custom follower, you have the option to get one by doing the Annual Subscription at the $5 level.

I may end up having to pause a month in future (so that no one is charged) so that i can catch up. Annual subs wouldn't be affected of course, but a month would give me plenty of time to catch up. I'll let everyone know if/when I do it in advance though.
I'm still working my way through the August Followers which should be done by the end of the month, hopefully sooner than that. I've been trying to put more care in the outfits and stuff for each follower. A lot of the followers for August have been magic users as well, requiring custom spell stuff which takes a ton of time.
I've been been including bonus outfits with some followers when it makes sense. Like if a character has more than one iconic outfit or if I feel like giving them a swimsuit or sleepwear that I could see them using in whatever show or game they're from and if it's something that's possible for me to create without too much trouble. Bonus outfits are never guaranteed, they're just bonuses I create whenever I feel like it.
September Followers so far are:
As I've mentioned before (I think...?), Patreon has added the ability to do yearly (Annual) subscriptions. So $5 tier patrons get one follower request for doing a year sub and $50 tier patrons get five bonus followers for doing a yearly sub. Both tiers also get a 5% discount.
Bonus Followers So Far:
This character, in the show, has like a billion outfits, but I went with two. Her main knight armor and her Japanese one. I used her as opportunity to try out "floating swords" that attack on their own. She can also shoot swords from her hands. both powers are shown in the screenshots.
She also has a wig that comes with her secondary outfit. I set it up so that she's stronger, but has less defense with the japanese style gear and weapon. And is more tanky when she has her knight armor on.

So the vote will be whether she's a really tall Nord or a really tall Redguard. And for the Nords. I'm thinking she could either be a traditional Nord or a Reguard who grew up in Skyrim like other Nords.
Either way, she'll have a somewhat toned and thick/curvy body. Not super muscular though.
2020-09-01 04:10:59 +0000 UTC View PostThis week, I'm going to focus on getting all the followers for July and August finished. Then next week while I'm working on my other projects, I'm going to focus on getting some followers ready for release on the Nexus.
I'll be focusing on the ones that only have a few texture replacements needed. The ones that need whole new faces and/or mesh stuff done will have to wait a bit. If I had infinite time, I'd go over them and add the new stuff that I've learned recently to them, but there's just too many of them and I doubt most people would care anyway.
I'll probably have a post later this week on what other followers are being being made for September.
Also, in other news, I've finally started putting in some work on the monthly vote followers, namely, the first one on the list, which is the dark elf assassin character. I've gathered all the assets for her outfit and weapons. And I'm going to use some scripts that allows her to work as an actual assassin, performing stealth attacks on enemies with the player's command. I've never tried it before, but the person who made the scripts is the same one who made the healer scripts. I'll probably do a beta test for Power Supporters and Mega Supporters once she's been created to make sure everything works with her. I'll be working on with September's batch of followers. I *think* I might do the same with Jane and Judy Jetson depending on how complicated things get with the other followers.

As a bonus, for Power Supporters who do the yearly option will get 1 follower request/suggestion for the year that can be requested at any time. And it'll be done whenever I have the time to do it, meaning it will have less priority over regular requests. however, they'd likely get done while I'm making the other followers since I like to do each step in batches (making the faces, gathering the assets and permissions, etc etc)
For Mega Supporters who want to do the yearly option, I will include 5 extra followers that can either be requested as a standard follower in a mod by themselves, or as a pairing/group for your regular followers. Example, let's say you requested Raven from Teen Titans for the month, you can use one of your bonuses to include Starfire. Or let's say you requested Sailor Moon, you can use your 5 bonuses to include Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, and Mini Moon. The more followers though, the longer it'll take, naturally, but as long as I can make all the followers at once, there shouldn't be too much of a delay.
2020-08-27 16:41:32 +0000 UTC View PostI'm going to be going back and forth working on the followers and my other projects. I want to try doing things day to day instead of week to week. Normally, I work on my other projects for one week and then the followers the next week and go back and forth. But now, I'm going to try rotating each day to see if that helps. I think it should overall reduce the time i spend on those other projects because when I'm working on them, i'm focused only on them so I feel fine taking longer breaks. I think if I go day to day, I'll try to get more done each day. And then for followers, I can probably do more in a day as well.
So far, I've got all the assets together for them and have all the folders and stuff set up. I'm going to try and finish all the texturing work by tomorrow and then start finishing them up. Some will take longer than others because I'll have to set up custom stuff for them and then test them out. So some will likely come out early next month.

While making it, I realized just much there is to do myself lol. There are notes about what I need to do and what has already been done. Some of the notes are blank which can either mean everything needs to be done or everything has already been done.
But hopefully this will help me get stuff done faster because I can see what needs the most work and what I can go ahead and release sooner.
Right now, I'm keeping this spreadsheet patrons only, so please don't share it just yet. I'll probably share it with the public in a few weeks or month or so. I think if you bookmark it, you'll see the updates automatically.
As for releases, I'll see about uploading something next week if not this week. It depends on how much I can get done today with my other projects.

I'll need to work on her heart tattoos and also find a way to neck longer. There's an option in RaceMenu, but it doesn't stay on the head mesh when exporting it.
2020-08-08 17:18:00 +0000 UTC View PostSo far, I've made all but 3 faces. and all the bodies. I'll finish the last 3 tomorrow and then go back over them to tweak them. Some of the faces came out the way I wanted, while some are just hard and i'll probably just start from scratch. What I've done in the past sometimes, is try to find references of real faces to try and make a unique face. But for the last 10ish followers before this current set, I've just dropped that method and have been tryign to create somewhat realistic faces that just look like the character. It's hard to do that with anime faces since they mostly look the same, but my primary goal is to try and make the character look and feel like them.
What i'm also doing is customizing their skin textures, applying unique makeup when the character calls for it. Some of the characters don't really have any defining make up beyond some eyeliner.
But preveiws will probably sent out tomorrow, depending on how much tweaking I need to do. I'm gonna go through them again and see which faces I'm satisfied with while the tunnel vision is gone.

Then I'll start making their heads and faces. I suspect that'll all be done by the end of the week or sometime next week. That's when I'll send out screenshots to those who requested them for feed back while I work on the assets.

While I'm making the bodies for these characters, I'm also going to start making the bodies for the monthly voted on followers. I want to start making them as soon as possible. I've been doing some lite asset gathered for them over the past few months whenever I come across something that I think might work for them. It's going to take a long time to tweak all the other followers to prepare them from release, but I find that when I work on one type of thing, I can get them done a lot faster (ex. working on all the bodies, then working all the asset gathering, then working making all the faces) rather than just doing one follower at a time. Though, witch making faces, I have to take breaks in between them. Some faces have to be done from scratch too. It's weird. Sometimes I can get the perfect look for a character within 10 minutes, but other times I'll work on something for an hour and it just doesn't work.
This month, I wanted to try another unique follower concept. Well, kind of unique as far as followers in Skyrim go. I want to make a "weak" follower that sort of acts as an apprentice to your character. So they'll always be at a much lower level than you and hardly effective in higher level battles. They'll deal some damage, but not as much as a regular follower and they wont have much health, stamina, and magicka and so you'll have to protect her. She'll grow in strength, but she'll always be out leveled.
She'd sort of be a way to change up the gameplay. I don't know if anyone has ever tried this, but playing with a follower that is mostly useless adds a new dynamic to the game. Before I started sharing my mods, I had a knight character and a noble lady he traveled with who didn't do any combat. It made the game a little more difficult without making the enemies tougher because now my character had to protect someone other than themselves.
She wont actually be useless. She'll be helpful, just not as helpful as a regular follower. the idea here is to add an extra layer of challenge by trying to keep her alive. I'm thinking she'll either not be essential at all or maybe set her to protected instead.
For her appearance, I haven't fully decided, I just know she'll likely be in her late teens or early 20's range.

I might attempt to smooth out her overcoat. The original asset was made for males only, so it's low-poly in the chest area. The upside is that the coat has HDT cloth physics. I might also change her skin.
