Fightful Select caught up with All Elite Wrestling’s Swerve Strickland ahead of his upcoming Texas Death Match against “Hangman” Adam Page at AEW’s Full Gear Pay-Per-View on Saturday, November 18th.

IMPACT Wrestler Granted Release

Kenny King is now a free agent.

Fightful Select has learned that Kenny King asked for and was granted his release by IMPACT Wrestling this week. King has spent the better part of the last two years there, where he became IMPACT Digital Media Champion along the way. He’s feuded with Joe Hendry, Mike Bailey and others, and came into the company as a part of the Honor No More stable with several other former ROH members. Details behind Sega Street Fight and AEW

AEW had a major sponsorship deal this week with Sega.

As Fightful Select had reported, AEW landed a big deal with Sega for the street fight match that aired on the November 15 AEW Dynamite. We’ve learned much more about the deal, and how it came to be.

The Sega deal was into the six figures, and largely connected to Kenny Omega. The sponsorship was tied to the Yakuza spinoff Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and featured several references to the game.

A longtime AEW name has shifted focus in recent months.

Fightful has learned that AEW Chief Legal Officer has largely stepped back from her AEW duties over the last few months. While we haven’t learned if there’s been an official job title change or adjustment there, Chris Peck has largely taken over many of the things Parekh was doing in the company. We have no insight as to whether or not Parekh will resume or accelerate AEW related duties.

Tempest represented Fightful Select to speak with 2012 Olympic Bronze Medal Winner in Boxing, Anthony Ogogo.

Ogogo told Fightful Select that it was unbelievable that AEW was going to Wembley Stadium. He said he was watching Dynamite when Tony announced it and thought Tony meant Wembley Arena.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp asked Shayna how the pitch went down regarding biting Becky Lynch’s neck on the night she debuted on Raw. Shayna said it was because the WWE wanted her to trend on Twitter.

More on Gran Metalik refusing to lose at AEW Rampage

Fightful Select has learned more details on a match being scrapped for the October 27 episode of AEW Rampage.

The Wrestling Observer reported that a planned match between Metalik and Komander was planned for AEW Rampage on October 27, but was scrapped due to Metalik reportedly refusing to lose. The show aired with only three matches, which was the original plan, as it was clarified to us there was never a plan to run four matches.
