How has only one videogame used this mechanic?
Driver San Francisco came out 10+ years ago and it's still a remarkable game for anybody, not just racing game fans. While there's lots of reasons for that, from its surprisingly great script, sheer amount of NPC dialogue, and presentation that holds up today, it's pri...

For the rest of your life, the only TV show you can watch is Dexter but only sseason 8 or the only movie you can watch is Driven. You have to watch Dexter twice a year and Driven 5 times a year.
I'll become emotionally dead in both cases, but at least with Driven, I'll have some initial fun along the way.

Sometimes, you'll find a twenty minute EP from nearly ten years ago that you're still playing to this day. I knew nothing of Sister Crayon and honestly, I only just discovered what else she's doing today, which just makes me excited to hear more.
This Cynic EP starts with a beautifully dark and somber title track that manages to build the momentum of a sprinter, and while the rest of the EP doesn't hit that same energy, it's just as atmospheric yet catchy.

By the time you read this, there's just two days left of the current Steam Next Fest. The semi-regular digital festival where Steam's packed to the brim with demos of upcoming games, dev-streams, and reveals.
While my wishlist isn't tripling like it did last time, I'm still finding lots of interesting games I never would've heard of had this festival not given me the chance to try a whole bunch.
The shortlist from me so far is easily OTXO, Wavetales, Potionomics, Gunbrella, Season...

Is there any other games (other then Alpha Protocol) that you feel deserve the remake treatment?
Tons.
R-Racing Evolution. Mercenaries. Deus Ex. Cold Winter. BRINK. Nascar Thunder '04. Halo 3 ODST. Rainbow Six. Etc.
There's also tons of niche games I think deserve a sequel to flesh out their concepts. As time's gone on, I think more people have started to appreciate the subtle differences in game design, rather than using bla...

From the people that brought you Cowboy Bebop.

Okay, this show was a big surprise for me. It's one starring a wide-eyed naive new recruit in the corporate run world of Space, finding herself working for Debris Section, the lowest and least respected on the latter. So you're expecting her to take the entire season to learn about the corrupted motivations of this capatilist culture.
It happens in the first episode.
And the rest of the show is like that with bo...

Two years ago, I wrote a Randomly Mine called "A Simple Standard" where I wished more developers would use WASD for navigating menus rather than force the mouse or arrow keys.
Now I'm going to complain about something that's almost identical.
In game menus, you left click to advance, so logically, you'd use the right click to back up, right?

WRONG.
It's the escape key.

What is your favorite Cyberpunk Quest?
Fuck.
That's tough.
Especially since there's so many I didn't have the chance to finish due to lack of time. It's also hard to pick one favorite. What I didn't expect were how many were about Johnny.
The junkyard stands out in my mind forever.

I've had months now to let this album simmer, and it still slaps from top to bottom. I'd be lying if I said I don't prefer bangers like Choose Your Fighter, Antagonist, and Toolbox over more toned down tracks like Cleopatra and K.M.B, but in the context of an album, they do a wonderful job of maintaining a great momentum from start to finish without ever becoming overwhelming.
I've recommended Nova Twins' singles, and this complete album shows their talent and ability can make more than...

After Castlevania, The Witcher, and Arcane, Cyberpunk Edgerunners is the next prime example in an adaptation done properly. Studio Trigger brought their A-Game in this show's remarkable presentation, the animation, colors, character design, and backgrounds are all top notch, along with their editing and direction.
Meanwhile the story is compeltely in-keeping with the excellent writing and storylines found in 2077 and it's expanded material like the comics.

You don't need to put a gun to my head for me to write down enough words that a hardcover would be thick enough to beat goats to death with. Typing on this keyboard is real easy, and complaining or praising things in video games is even easier.
Structuring on the other hand, that's really hard.

The amount of mockery Michael Bay gets from viewers and critics alike I think very much stems from that he's clearly talented, and movies like The Rock show how.
The films a majestic balance of action, drama, and camp. It's got a compelling Villain lashing out against the US, a hysterically naïve character played by Nicholas Cage, and multiple action set-pieces that would set the stage for multiple video-games in the years to come.
That I'd never seen it until now and loved it, i...

The context for this open-world arcade racing game about driving the fastest cars across the entire United States of America, is avenging your dead brother after being framed for his murder and recruited by the FBI to infiltrate a street racing gang.

After recommending Bring Me The Horizon's Post Human Survivor Horror EP, I was encouraged by Patrons to give the band's earlier work a try. My initial reaction to Suicide Season was wanting to vomit, but just like Converge, I steadily became acclimated to Horizon's early Metalcore roots on that album and There Is a Hell.
While there's songs from both those albums I love, ultimately, Sempiternal the band's first complete package. The riffs aren't as intense but the production is supreme,...

Far Cry 5's DLC, "Hours of Darkness" is… okay.
Made by Ubisoft Shanghai, it reconfigures Far Cry 5's assets into an open-ended Vietnam game where those assets can't quite create the goal the team was clearly striving for.
