So as I get into the meat of the story work, I thought I'd share my process, for any who are curious as to how I intend to build out the story. The story is the hard part; the rest is either grunt work, or can be solved with enough money. So the story is where I want to expend the majority of my time up front.
I have a three-pronged approach planned, with each prong designed to comprehensively deal with part of the process of creating a multi-character branching narrative. The previous ...

You decide which character I'll do a bio on next :) There are of course far more than 5 characters, but in order to keep the poll a reasonable size I'll just give 5 options each time, mixing and matching names

Hello all! Today I'm starting with a series of weekly biographies which will introduce you to all of the characters in LOTM, giving you insight into the backstories, their history, and what you can expect from your interactions with them.
It's very important for me to mention that I want your feedback on all of these. Tell me what you like about them, and what you don't like. At this stage of the game, fundamental changes to characters are still very possible - an...

Good morning everyone!
Half of you going "oh yeah, I'm on that Patreon" right now, I'm sure :P Hopefully you're also on the Discord, and read my post from the other day. This is largely a recapitulation of that, just with a better idea of timeframes.
So, since we last spoke, I've been focused on a final paying side project that needed to get done to address some income shortfalls this year has sprung on me. It was planned to wrap up end of June, but has dragged into July. That wi...

Some more idle writing to try out some scenes and ideas.
----------
You watch the train trundling away, one arm clutching your book to your chest, the other gripping your suitcase. The day has heated up, and you’re sweating a little. You wipe your forehead, but it doesn’t help much - except to let you catch a whiff of your underarms. Damn. You smell. You could do with a cold shower, or a swim. Had the website mentioned a pool? You can only hope. Now, the email said to expect s...

Some more story sketching, figuring out the world and the stories to fill it.
-------
It will take half a day to reach the manor, but you don’t mind. You’re on holiday now; you can indulge in the luxury of patience. The sun’s barely risen when you depart, the great iron wheels of the train clack-clacking over sidings and switches and crossings, rows of whitewashed houses flicking past the window. You watch them for a while, until the houses turn to parks and o...

A first draft of the game's opening sequence.
----
“Four years.”
The rabbit’s nose twitches but the slight smirk on his mouth remains. “No, seriously.” He tugs on one ear, pulling the tip into his mouth to nibble on. “How long?”
You shrug apologetically. “Really. Four years.”
“I…” The rabbit’s eyes widen. “Four years without a holiday? How the fuck did you manage that, Flax?”
You restrain ...

Hey guys :) So the first thing I want to finalise is the design of the player character. I've narrowed it down to two choices; while I'm definitely open to hearing other options still, they'll have to be pretty compelling :)
The main points the playable character's design needs to address are:
- Attractiveness. Naturally. It needs to look pleasant. This is pretty much sorted by choosing a 20-something stallion as the character.
- Visual simplici...

Two goals already? I don't have the words. Which is a problem since words are the part of the project being worked on now. So instead I'll just say: let's fucking do this. For all the little deer in the fandom who dream of a horse showing up for a holiday at their house and fucking their brains out late at night in the pantry.
The first thing I want to nail down is the design of the main character. I'm assembling a few images that convey what I'm thinking, and I'll present them for disc...

What's it about?
In Lord of the Manor, you will play as a gay young stallion, recently graduated. The final stretch of your studies left you exhausted, and a friend recommends you take a holiday at a country manor called Paardenrust. He assures you that you'll enjoy yourself there. A lot.
You'll spend two weeks at Paardenrust, where the helpful staff will ensure your every need is catered for. Spend your days exploring the manor and its grounds, or the nearby fore...
