Hi guys!
Here are two portrait sketches I recorded for this month’s video. The profile portrait that looks like growing out of the frontal face is the warm up sketch 🌱😅 I often start warming up with profiles because I find them much easier to draw. I thought it could be a good occasion to record both drawings. So you’ll have two different angles instead of one portrait 🙃

Here’s a quick but useful ART TIP on drawing light in the eyes in a realistic way. Please remember that it’s not an anatomical drawing. It’s a very simplified geometry that shows how the light spreads in the eyes ✨

I have mixed feelings about these studies:
1. They seem a bit childish to me. Like something that Baby Gabs would like to draw 😅
2. I had big troubles with drawing various textures: fur and scales 🐟
3. I’m not experienced in drawing animals in color. Not to mention in digital! 🎨

Here are the Secret Sketches for June. This time I had a great desire to draw animals you suggested (a red panda, snake, different types of fish, two cats sleeping together and a foxterrier). I made them as digital studies 🐍. (I will add a time lapse if you want 😉)
I also loved the other propositions - for example Ghibli characters and Emma Stone as Cruella, but I will keep them for later 😁 (I want to see “Cruella” first 🍿 )

Here’s a Step by step process of my yesterday’s study! 🥭 It’s a little bit different approach for me - usually I painted with many more layers and it often took many hours. I’d love to explore and practice this way because I’d be able to paint more often 🤩
